I SUFFERED BRAIN STROKE 1.5 year ago which caused my left body paralytic though I have recovered to the large extent except movement in my fingers. Since the stroke, I am having very strained relationships with my wife and two small kids. I am not able to leave them due to circumstances in which I am trapped. I am damn lonely and suffering from Anxiety and depression as I feel nobody wants to me. I know cure of my problem if somebody love me unconditionally. What should I do.

Dear Lybrate user, I can understand how badly you are affected by your present condition. But I think you are over estimating that you are being rejected by your kith and kin. This attitude will lead you to poor self esteem and automatically you start reject yourself and to worsening of your physical problem. You do need counseling at first and there are a number of treatment methods both in modern medicine and alternative medicines. Don't loose heart, since you are young, the chances of rehabilitation and back to normal life is bright.

My son aged 13 years, an autistic and epilectic patient, doctor prescribed him to take famocid 40, addwize, lamitor dt, velparine syrup to prevent seizures for 3 and 1/2 years. Please advise me how to cure completely my son forever ? pradip lahiri, siliguri, west bengal, india.

MD - Psychiatry, MBBS
Psychiatrist, Patna
Epilepsy needs to be treated for long time may be years. Prophylactic antiepileptics are the mainstay of therapy. Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder of children which needs continuous training and graded environmental stimulation under guidance of professionals. Medicines does not help much in autism but repetitive behavior and self harming behaviour may be controlled. You should get your child trained in a special school for disabled children.

My mother suffered a seizure. After she has been given levipil. In MRI there is written that microvascular ischemic changes (FAZEKA SCORE 1) involving juxta cortical white matter of bilateral frontal-parietal regions with periventricular leokoaraiosis. Please tell me is it normal?

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine, Fellow In Pain Management, DM - Neurology
Neurologist, Delhi
Many a times perventricular ischemic white matter changes are normal with age .So probably it may not be related with the Siezures..however if too much involving subcortical deep white matter also or confluent then it could be an issue. commonly hypertension or blood pressure can cause these changes.. Also they can cause memory disturbances if extensive. however Fazeka grade 1 is less significant. Grade 2 and above is more significant. seeing the MRI films would give better idea

weight loss everyday,my legs get pain and numbness feeling both hands and feet and feeling lightheaded sometime.help me
First we should to know the reason for your wt loss& weakness, here I could nt get your age details, but it migt be due to less intake or improper intake of diet, or mal assimilation, any vitamin deficiency, anaemia, improper circulation of blood, mental or physical exertion, or any other c/os, first to be uled out. Then, you can get t/t accordingly. Based on symptoms, & diagnosis, you can get better relief in homeo.
