Hi, please follow these tips apart from taking medicines to avoid recurrence: - do not keep your stomach empty for long durations, - eat in small quantities frequently. - avoid hot, spicy and oil fried food - drink plenty of water in between your intake. - keep away from mental stress and tensions, - perform physical exercises daily and meditation helps to relieve mental stress and tensions. - consume lot of fibre like raw vegetables, oats, fruits, sprouts, etc - avoid excess intake of coffee or tea, intake of medicines on empty stomach. - be careful about the food while eating outside. - carry a small pack of biscuit or some fruits along with you for emergency. - whenever you suffer from acidity, take the medications prescribed by the doctor for 2-3 weeks continuously until the wounds in the stomach gets healed completely. - sleep at least for 8 hours a day. - restrict the usage of pain killers and antibiotics frequently.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern. It's not clear what causes irritable bowel syndrome, treatment focuses on the relief of symptoms. Following steps should be taken 1. Eliminating high-gas foods such items as carbonated beverages, vegetables — especially cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower — and raw fruits. 2.Some people are sensitive to types of carbohydrates such as fructose, fructans & lactose, called FODMAPs .FODMAPs are found in certain grains, vegetables, fruits and dairy products such as wheat, rye, barley, onion, garlic, apples, apricots, avocados, blackberries, cherries, etc 3.Taking fiber supplements, such as psyllium or methylcellulose, with fluids may help control constipation. Fiber obtained from food may cause much more bloating compared with a fiber supplement. 4.Anti-diarrheal medications such as loperamide, can help control diarrhea. 5.Anticholinergic and antispasmodic medications. These medications, such as hyoscyamine and dicyclomine, can help relieve painful bowel spasms. They should not be used if you have constipation. 6.Counseling. You may benefit from counseling if you have depression or if stress tends to worsen your symptoms. 7. In some people improvement in diarrhea symptoms occurs, if they stop eating gluten (wheat, barley and rye) Don't worry you would be fine Hoping your query is solved.

Hello Dr, For more than one year I am facing pain while passing stools. I drink 5-6 litres of water everyday. Sometimes I passes freely but most of the time it hurts and I am facing lot of pain and burning sensation during passing. No blood while passing but before 8 months sometimes I saw blood. There was symptoms of starting of ulcer before 1 year and I got treatment. I am worried of going toilet everyday in fear of pain. Pls help is anything serious.

Your symptoms suggestive of chro nic ana l fissure. Let a surgeon see you and decide future course of action .surgery or local treatment. Start drinking plenty of water and salads in your diet. Sit in a tub of warm water three times a day for 15 min specially after passing stools .that will relieve your pain.

Dear lybrate user as rightly mentioned by you, you have acidity problem due to consumption of rich & oily food. The following can be done to reduce acidity: * eat food at regular intervals * avoid consuming rich, fatty, oily food * cut down on carbohydrates in the food & include protein in the diet * consume more of fibre (green leafy vegetables, cabbage, etc) * include salads in your diet * consume at least 2-3 litres of water per day to keep yourself hydrated * regular exercise & pranayam would help

When you get acidity use cold milk without sugar (milk kept in fridge these days not with ice) or have vanilla icecream 1-2 scoop or have 12 watersoaked almonds any of this will help from getting relief from acidity to reduce start your day with lukewarm honey and lemon water take as much water as you can avoid spicy, oily, sweets etc

It is not fatal. But reduce excessive exercises. It affects the heart because exercising adds more load to heart. You should keep continuing exercises, but not as rigorous as you say.

Eat small meals. Instead of 3 big meals, have 5 small meals every 3-4 hours. Eat slowly. Don’t sleep on a full stomach. Try to have an early dinner. Make sure there is a gap of 3 hours between your last meal and bed time. Wear loose-fitting clothes. Avoid certain known foods which cause acidity like, coffee, tea, colas, and citrus fruits, oily and spicy food. If your weight is high – losing a few kilos will reduce acidity too. Keep a gap of 2 hours between exercise and meals. Drink at least 3 litres of water every day. Try meditation and yoga to minimise daily stress.

Best thing is to get examined and rule out serious condition. Then most likely it will be fissure in ano. Have soft diet. High fiber diet. Sitz bath. Diltiact cream for local application.

Dear lybrate user, you need to take homoeopathic carbo veg 200, 5 drops, thrice daily, in empty stomach. You can also try homoeopathic liver tonic liv-t (sbl company). Take 20 ml of the aforesaid liver tonic, thrice daily, after meals. Try to drink as much water as you can drink daily. Try to get an uninterrupted sleep of minimum 8 hours.

1. Drink 100-500 ml of tender coconut water twice a day for relief from hyperacidity Mix equal parts of powdered fennel, licorice root, basil leaves and coriander seeds. Have ½ teaspoon of this mixture with ½ teaspoon of powdered rock candy (or unrefined sugar) 15 minutes before lunch and dinner. 2.Make a powdered mixture of equal parts of rock candy (or unrefined sugar), fennel, and green cardamom. Whenever you feel heartburn, mix 1 teaspoon of the mixture in a glass of cold milk and drink. 3.Avoid tea, coffee, and carbonated or alcoholic beverages.Especially stop drinking bed tea. 4.Avoid using garlic, ginger, onions, tomatoes, and vinegar in cooking. 5.Curd should be strictly avoided at night. 6. Practice Yoga and Pranayama such as Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Salabhasana, Bhastrika Pranayama,Shitali Pranayama and Shitkari Pranayama. 7.Drink plenty of fluids and water. 8. Avoid constipation. 9. Revert back after 10 days. Take Care. 10. Take 1 tsf avipattikar churna twice a day with water empty stomach./ 1month.

you r taking the correct medicine and can do more to correct constipation by changing to a different salt of the same family and take high fibre diet and lots of fluids to drink
