Came to know 1 year back that I am suffering from anxiety. Taken medicines prescribed by neurologist and feel relief too. Left all medicine one month ago. Sleep got natural slowly. Ayurvedic medicines are continued. Suddenly felt it is developing again and now really worried. Shd I go back again on medicines?

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Chennai
Came to know 1 year back that I am suffering from anxiety. Taken medicines prescribed by neurologist and feel relief ...
First neurologist is not the right person to treat anxiety, it is like going to an orthopedician for heart problem Neurologist treats stroke, epilepsy, .and other neurological conditions and not psychiatric disorders like anxiety, depression, etc. You need to consult a psychiatrist for proper treatment of anxiety, education about the illness and combining CBT (Cognitive behaviour therapy) if needed. Regarding your choice of Ayurveda it is a personal choice and you have to take the risks and benefits of AYUSH treatment methods. Don't go back to the medicines on your own, better consult a psychiatrist, if you are interested in your son's health. All the best.

I have one problem my hairs are falling so much evert time they come into my hand so please suggest what to do?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
I have one problem my hairs are falling so much evert time they come into my hand so please suggest what to do?
Hi. It's normal to loose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month.

Hi lybrate-user, thanks for the query. It's better to use olive oil rather than any cream. This condition is like callosities. Oil will help you to make it smooth and use of any body scrub pure herb will remove the thicker skin and bring the normal texture.

Did pregnancy test and result is negative. She is not pregnant. But last periods on 28 june. Now 28 july? Didn't get ...
Other than pregnancy there are lots of reasons which causes absence or delay of menses. And moreover a negative pregnancy test also doesn't mean that there is no chance of being pregnant. Some conditions like hormonal changes due to some disease or continued mental stress can also cause delay in menses.

He is taxi driver in Melbourne. He is nice person. But he doesn't control his anger. If I do any mistake. He loose his temper and goes in aggressive nature. Please help me for anger control or management.

Masters in Clinical Psychology
Psychologist, Lucknow
Hi, The endorphins that come from exercise can help you calm down, and moving your body provides a physical outlet for your rage: in this way, exercise can help in the moment of anger. However, maintaining a regular exercise schedule can also help you regulate your emotions in general. While you exercise, focus on thinking about the exercise and your body, not what has been on your mind lately. Some forms of exercise that might appeal to you and help you control your anger include: Running/Jogging Weight training Cycling Yoga Basketball Breathe deeply. If your heart hammers with rage, slow it down by controlling your breathing. Deep breathing is one of the most important steps in meditation, which can contribute to controlling emotions. Even if you do not fully “meditate,” using deep breathing techniques can offer similar benefits. Count to three as you inhale, hold the breath in your lungs for three more seconds, and count to three again as you exhale. Focus only on the numbers as you do this. Be sure that each breath in fully fills your lungs, causing your chest and belly to expand. Exhale fully each time, and pause between the exhale and the next inhale. Keep breathing until you feel that you have regained control. Give him following tips: Recognize that sometimes anger is justified, and may need to come out. However, realize that there are productive ways to do it instead of lashing out at others. Ask yourself if the future recipient of your furor deserves to be blown up at, or if you are just using them as a punching bag to release steam about another person/issue that bothers you. Find a creative outlet, such as writing, drawing etc. Where you can expend your energy. Hobbies help elevate your mood and allow you to channel energy that you'd usually spent dwelling on issues that you aren't able to resolve. Imagine what you could do with the energy you expend in anger if you channeled it into something else. Think about the stress you put on yourself. Do you enjoy feeling that way? If not change it. Meditation is a useful way to release stress and/or anxiety, the precursors to anger. Avoid all things that were involved in making you angry until you have cooled down. Block out anything or anyone and go into a quiet place and breathe deeply until you are calm enough. Watch what you say when you're angry. You don't always feel the same as when you have calmed down and thought of the situation. Try listening to soothing songs that bring peace to your mind. If you get angry easily and find it hard to control yourself, find a quiet place away from everybody. Scream into a blanket, pillow, or anything to stifle the noise. (If you want to, you can even just yell if nobody is around.) It'll help you let off some steam. Try to stay away from situations or places or anything that make you angry.
