I am 22 year old. 24 days ago I got a jerk and soft tissue damage in my right knee while playing football and I got a plaster but the recvry is not done. While doing smthng or trying to push anything there is severe pain in my knee on the medial aspect. Wat should I do. And will it affect my sports for a longer period?

your spinal cord is protected by spinal bones surrounding. these surrounding bones are small bones arranged one over the other starting from your neck to lower back. the neural foramina is the space in all spinal bones inside which the spinal cord runs. at each attachment of the small bones the spinal nerves branches out which supplies different segments of the body (for example spinal nerves branching at neck region supply neck and upper limbs). there a gel like substance in between each spinal bone giving lubrication to move on each other and giving cushioning effect while we walk, jump, ride etc. these gel like substance due many reasons may bulge out from the joint and enter the space in which the spinal cord is travelling. this in turn reduce the space of the space(narrowing of neural foramina) which pinches the spinal cord at that area. this will cause pain in the segment which is supplied by the spinal nerve coming out at that level. to reduce the narrowing the bulging disc should be treated. there is effective treatment for disc bulge in Physiotherapy.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Well diet alone may not sole his problems although recommendation will be for diabetic diet with high calcium containing diet, fresh fruits and vegetables although you can get a diet chart planned for him from a good nutritionist. Also my advice will be to get some blood tests done for him empty stomach like: cbc, esr, crp, serum electrolytes, serum vitamin d levels and send these reports across to me so that I can advise for adequate supplementation as well. Rheumatoid arthritis is a self limiting disease. Acute phase can be managed with medicines. Physiotherapy helps in preventing contractures & deformities. Keep your moral up! Any way take IBUPROFEN 200mg OD & SOS x 5days Caldikind plus (Mankind) 1Tab ODx10days You will need other supportive medicines also. Do knee exercises It may have to be further investigated Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem. In established cases of Rheumatoid arthritis DMRD ( disease modifying drugs)egMETHOTRAXATE ,HCQS ,LEFUNOMIDE, SAAZ etc. have to be used. They all are toxic drugs & can cause bone marrow depression along with other side effects.They should be taken under medical supervision.

Hello- Yes it is due to masturbation. Masturbation leads to abnormal peristalsis (forward movement) of intestine thus creating gaseous distention which leads to backward pressure on the spine and causing back ache. Reduce masturbation frequency, start ayurvedic aphrodisiacs and clear your bowel by eating fibrous diet.

I don't know about Algina but the others are for your Diabetes & calcium & Vitamin D. You can take extra care in your diet to control your blood sugar. You can try taking 1 tsp. Castor oil at bedtime with a glass of water. It can help you for your knee pain.

Hello. I shall try my best to solve you health problem. Pain in heels while one stand up is usually due to Tendonitis. By Tendonitis I mean there occurs some inflammation in the muscle supporting the heel bone. It can also be due to Vit D deficiency. dear sudheer if you really need to become healthy again then you must avoid drinking smoking and other habit you got. take food rich in vitamin and calcium. supplements like B12 syrup polybion can be taken to increase stamina.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It may have to be further investigated. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again. Contact your family doctor or nearest hospital for emergency help.

Daily sex is not harmful and there is no need to worry about that. Numbness of hands and feet means that there could be a disease of nerves (peripheral neuropathy), which can be confirmed by doing nerve conduction studies.

Dear lybrate user this problem starts in foot not in elbow, in elbow there is chances of tennis elbow so do physiotherapy continue, ift, us 15 minutes each and ice pack 20 minutes twice a day gentle rom ex of elbow.

Try few things for your back pain: - Apply Ice and Heat Heating pads and cold packs can comfort tender trunks. Most doctors recommend using ice for the first 48 hours after an injury -- particularly if there is swelling — and then switching to heat. You can use whichever you find comforting as long as your skin is protected. - Limit Bed Rest Studies show that people with short-term low-back pain who rest feel more pain and have a harder time with daily tasks than those who stay active. -Keep Exercising Activity is often the best medicine for back pain. Simple exercises like walking can be very helpful. But remember to move in moderation, Stay away from strenuous activities like gardening and avoid whatever motion caused the pain in the first place. -Maintain Good Posture Most people have poor posture when going about their daily activities, putting unnecessary strain on their backs. -Strengthen Your Core Most people with chronic back pain would benefit from stronger abdominal muscles. If the abdominals are weak, other areas must pick up the slack. When we strengthen the abdominals, it often reduces the strain on the lower back. - Improve Flexibility Too much tension and tightness can cause back pain. By increasing flexibility you need to put an equal load throughout the body from the feet all the way up to the head. -Sleep the Right Way The amount of rest you get is important, and so is the position you get it in. Sleeping in a bad position or on a mattress without support can cause back pain. Back sleepers should put pillows under their knees. Side sleepers should place pillows between their knees to keep their spine in a neutral position. Stomach sleeping causes the neck and head to twist and can put undue stress on the back. -Use Relaxation Techniques Research shows that practices such as meditation, deep breathing and yoga, which help put the mind at rest, can do wonders for the back. -See a Specialist Developing an individualized exercise plan is essential to managing chronic back pain. Some patients need more core strengthening while others benefit mainly from stretching and improving flexibility.
