Dietary and other lifestyle changes can help you control and prevent high blood pressure. Eating a diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products and skimps on saturated fat and cholesterol can lower your blood pressure by up to 14 mm hg. This eating plan is known as the dietary approaches to stop hypertension (dash) diet. Get plenty of potassium, which can help prevent and control high blood pressure. Eat less saturated fat and total fat. If you're overweight, losing even 3 kgs can lower your blood pressure. Strive for at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.

srinu initially you are enjoyed very much. but now you are in problem. better to quit smoking. otherwise you will take severe dose of medicine or you need to consume for long time. it is better to stop. when you have feeling of smoke. it is better to chicklets or chocolates or chewing gum. or take any tiffins or small amount sweets or hot. if you have that thought better to move from that place. better to make friendly relations with who are not smoke. dont sit alone and dont think too much about this problem. better to spend most of the time with good friends. better to share your internal feelings and problems with close friends and family members. better to develop busy schedule of work. if you busy in work there is no chance of smoking. dont make friendly relation with pan shops. better to keep away from them. dont think too much. take right time good food. relax most of the time. be comfortable all the time. be sociable and be happy. ok all the best.

Your blood pressure rises with each heartbeat and falls when your heart relaxes between beats. While BP can change from minute to minute with changes in posture, exercise, stress or sleep, it should normally be less than 120/80 mm Hg (less than 120 systolic AND less than 80 diastolic) for an adult age 20 or over.Typically more attention is given to the top number (the systolic blood pressure) as a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease for people over 50 years old. In most people, systolic blood pressure rises steadily with age due to increasing stiffness of large arteries, long-term build-up of plaque, and increased incidence of cardiac and vascular disease.

Hello, share all the reports and prescription sheet of the doctor to know what kind of heart disease you are having? medication: keep taking schwabe's essentia aurea/ thrice daily for 2 weeks. Revert back for further guidance.

Alkaline phosphatase 95, total Bilirubin 0.98 (0.3 direct+ 0.68 indirect), GGT 64, SGOT 44, SGPT 68, Serum Albumin 4.42, Serum Globulin 2.48, Total Protein 6.9 25 OH Vitamin D Total 6.54 HDL Cholesterol direct 29, Total cholesterol 208, LDL Cholesterol Direct 119, Triglycerides 313, VLDL CHOLESTEROL 62.55 & Non HDL CHOLESTEROL 178.7 Blood sugar fasting 125 These are the results of my blood test. I did a few other tests like creatine etc but they are in the normal range. I understand that the liver enzymes are a little high and so is my cholesterol & I am Vitamin D deficient. I drink 4-5 bottles (750 ml each) of beer (bottle says less than 6℅ alcohol) once a week & that's important for me to unwind myself after 5 working days. I eat non-veg regularly. I am thinking of having Cod liver capsule (please advise good brand), Livosin or any good liver tonic and having food like mackerel. Is that fine with the test results I have? I really don't want to stop the beer .Please help!

If you want to stay healthy and keep your Liver healthy and cholesterol in control, then you don't have an option except reducing your Alcohol intake significantly. The reason why both your Liver ezymes and cholesterol are deranged is because of high intake of alcohol, so taking Liver tonics is not going to help. Best would be to exercise daily, eat a healthy diet and reduce your alcohol consumption to 60-70 ml per day if you must.

Doctors tell that all my arteries are blocked I need to do heart surgery I am afraid is there a remedy I have breakin...
If the block in the artery has been clearly demonstrated in investigation like coronary angiography and the extent of block is significant then angioplasty or bye pass surgery is indicated. If you are not having risk factors like diabetes, hypertension, the blocks are less than 50 percent of the coronary diameter and the plaques are calcified and stabilized then conservative medicinal management can be considered. You should seek advice from a cardiologist and decide.

You could be having chronic bronchitis or pharyngitis. Due to cold and cough. And may be due to allergy. Ifbthebpain is radiating and associated with sweating. Or difficulty in breathing. Best think would be to consult a medical specialist. For further assessment and management.

The moment we get diagnosed with diabetes, our minds cringe in fear by the thought of all the restraint on our life, especially diet, which would be imposed on us for a lifetime, taking away the joy from celebrations and fun eat out sessions etc. Diet management is of utmost importance in diabetes not only to control blood sugar levels but also to keep other risks such as body weight and heart risk factors at bay. People with HbA1c levels mild to moderately elevated (<7.5%) at diagnosis, may be advised to take a diet and lifestyle modification trial before they are put on any drugs and some of these people will be able to control their diabetes/pre-diabetes for a significant amount of time without drugs. Even for people on drugs or insulin diet and lifestyle management is equally important. Therefore, dietary modifications to manage risk factors for CVD are very important in diabetics. These modifications include controlling the intake of salt and ‘bad’ fats in your diet, and the recommended levels of intake are lower than those in general population Diabetics in general are often advised even by their doctors and dieticians, some times, to consume ‘low fat’ diet to manage their heart risk. But In India, where average intake of carbs is much higher than recommended intake of fat, for most people, such an advice is not only erroneous, it is harmful! (Read: Indian diet: ‘pro’s and ‘con’s, to know more) Instead what is needed is to replace the ‘bad’ fats, present in high quantities in vanaspati (found in snack items and restaurant/ fast food meals etc.), full cream milk, butter, ghee and red meat (but not mutton: read more), with vegetable oils (such as olive, canola, rice bran etc. But not coconut and palm oil)

Individuals with low levels of calcium are at greater risk of high blood pressure. A diet that includes figs, cooking greens, broccoli and dairy products will raise levels of calcium. Dry roasted soy nuts works effectively in reducing blood pressure.
