Hello Mr Anwar, If the X ray, ECG and Echo cardio gram are all normal, then you dont need to worry much but you need to be vigilant. Take antacid Gelusil one tsp twice a day for a week and see if there is any improvement. If the pain lasts, you need to consult another doctor who is different from the one you consulted with before, in order to take a second opinion and you will have to repeat the ECG and Echocardiogram.

Well for your high BP you need to get investigated to look for your cardiac health and any target organ damage. Besides medicines for BP control you will need further treatment to reduce your cardio vascular risk.

I am 20 years old nd hve my cholesterol 252 is it normal for mee nd if it is not how can I reduce it.

Ayurveda,
I am 20 years old nd hve my cholesterol 252 is it normal for mee nd if it is not how can I reduce it.
No its not normal. Your overall cholesterol level is 252. Please check lipid profile. So you can know whether triglycerides is above the normal or ldl. To reduce cholesterol levels, you need to involve in both medications and yoga. When dealing with medications, considering your age I suggest traditional nature healing method -ayurveda nd naturopathy. Hearing your cholesterol levels of 252 at this age, exercise must be done daily for 30 minutes. You need to burn up atleast 800 cal of energy with intake of 1500 cal intake. So if your intake is more then burning up should be done wisely. Follow a regular diet too. All the best.

My BP has gone down to 70 -90 with the result, I feel giddy. Doctor told me to increase the intake of salt. What fruits or food can benefit to bring it to normal 120 - 80.

FOR LOW B.P - 1. Eat a diet higher in salt. 2. To avoid problems with low blood pressure and lessen episodes of dizziness after meals, try eating smaller, more frequent meals. Cut back on carbohydrates. Rest after eating 3. Limit alcoholic beverages, Drink more fluids during hot weather and while sick with a viral illness, such as a cold or the flu. 4. Avoid heavy lifting. 5. Avoid prolonged exposure to hot water, such as hot showers and spas. If you get dizzy, sit down. 6. Get regular exercise to promote blood flow. 7. Be careful when rising from lying down or sitting. To help improve circulation, pump your feet and ankles a few times before standing up. Then proceed slowly. When getting out of bed, sit upright on the edge of the bed for a few minutes before standing. 8. Elevate the head of your bed at night by placing bricks or blocks under the head of bed. 9. Avoid straining while on the toilet. 10. Avoid standing still in place for long periods of time. Do revert for homeopathic medicines FOR B.P.

Reasons Behind Heart Failure!

Non Invasive Services
Cardiologist, Mohali
Reasons Behind Heart Failure!

Heart failure occurs when the heart fails to pump blood around the body and organs for oxygen and nutrients. As blood moves through the heart and body at a slower rate, pressure in the heart increases. The chambers of the heart stretch to hold more blood to be able to pump through the body. This helps the blood to move but eventually the heart muscle walls weaken, unable to pump blood efficiently. The kidneys, in response cause the body, to retain fluids. The leakage of fluid in the tissues and the organs congests the heart, leading to heart failure.

Any of the following conditions can be responsible for weakening the heart and causing heart failure.

1. Coronary artery disease: this is a disease of the arteries supplying blood and oxygen to the heart that causes decreased blood flow to heart muscle. If the arteries get blocked or narrowed (due to the buildup of fatty deposits), the heart fails to get oxygen and nutrients, which may eventually lead to heart failure.

2. Heart attackif the artery becomes suddenly blocked or the plaques formed by fatty deposits rupture, it can lead to a heart attack. This happens due to the formation of a blood clot which may block blood flow to an area of heart muscle.

3. High blood pressurehigh blood pressure puts an extra strain on the heart for it to work harder to circulate blood throughout the body. As a result, the heart muscle may become stiff or weak to effectively pump blood.

4. Heart muscle weaknessthis condition can have many causes including diseases, infections, drug and alcohol abuse. Genetic factors may also contribute to the weakening of heart muscles.

5. Other diseases: chronic diseases like diabetes, HIV, hyperthyroidism or a buildup of iron or protein can also lead to heart failure. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Cardiologist.

The normal heart rate at rest is between 60 to 100 beats/min. Heart rate more than 100 if occuring at rest in the absence of factors like anxiety, fever etc is abnormal. You need to start off by getting an ECG, thyroid function and consult a physician or cardiologist for furthur evaluation.
