I an suffering from hypertension from last one month. Also I have stress on my mind. What I have to do.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd

I an suffering from hypertension from last one month. Also I have stress on my mind. What I have to do.
It is the stress that is causing the hypertension. For a young chap like you to have this level of stress there must be something rather serious to trouble you. The hypertension is nothing but high blood pressure. These are the measures you must take to contain hypertension: Reducing your daily saturated fat intake to 7 percent; Reducing your total fat intake to 25 to 35 percent; Limiting your dietary cholesterol to less than 200 mg; Eating 20 to 30 g of soluble fiber found in oats, peas, beans, and certain fruits; Increasing your intake of plant stanols or sterols, substances found in nuts, vegetable oils, corn and rice, to 2 to 3 g. Other foods that can help control cholesterol include cold-water fish, such as mackerel, sardines, and salmon. These fish contain omega-3 fatty acids that may lower triglycerides. Soybeans found in tofu, soy nuts and many meat substitutes contain a powerful antioxidant that can lower LDL. A supplement known as psyllium can help you increase your soluble fiber intake. Made from seed grain husks, psyllium helps absorb water and cholesterol from your intestines and may improve the ratio of HDL to LDL. You must exercise as per the approval of your doctor, by walking at least 30 minutes daily. For hypertension: The DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet includes eating foods with potential antihypertensive activity like fresh fruits and vegetables (amla juice, beetroot garlic and radish), whole grains, milk, etc and lowering the intake of salt and processed foods. Apart from Yoga you must take the following regularly: Probiotics, Bananas, Citrus fruits, Papaya, Berries, Avocado, Potatoes, Leafy veggies, Beetroot, Peas and beans, & Radish. Exercise: Regular physical activity of 30 to 60 minutes lowers your blood pressure level by 4 – 9 mm Hg. Natural herbs: The commonly used natural remedies with antihypertensive property include garlic, custard apple, celery, ajwain, carrot, flaxseeds (alsi), tomato, drumsticks, basil (tulsi), pomegranate, sesame (til), cocoa bean, wheat bran, black plum and ginger. Stress management: Stress is one of the key factors responsible for hypertension. The various relaxation techniques used to relieve stress and lower high blood pressure are controlled breathing, reiki, acupuncture and meditation. You must get this book and keep it at home to be referred to regularly, ‘Reversing the Heart Disease’, by Dr. Dean Ornish.

I am male 76 years old. In 1983 Allopathic doctors told me that I am hypertensive and I must be on medicines. Whereas I had no problem. I told them since I do mental work may be this is normal to my body. But they were going by the book. Since then they put me on medicines, not giving much relief but giving me side effects of medicines. On my own I tried to keep myself fit by natural way. Now I want to get rid of Allopathic medicines. Presently my Bp when I get up in the morning remains in the morning remains around 180/ 10. After get ready by 5.30 am it comes down to around 166/ 96. And after approx 30 mts walk and 15 mts light yog and pranayam, it further comes down to around 130/ 76. I take rest during day for sometime. By evening it is again 175/ 96. I take their medicine at around 10 am. Please get me a remedy where I can completely get rid of those harmful medicines.

Hello, you can opt Homoeopathic remedies for the same problem . These medicines work efficiently without causing any side effects to the patients. Take Rauvolfia 1x, 2 tabs daily morning empty stomach. Take Essentia Aurea, 20 drops with water twice daily. Drink plenty of liquids and cut down your fat, salt and sugar intake. Home remedies to Control high BP:-1. Bananas are one fruit that people with high blood pressure can eat regularly to control it. Bananas are a rich source of potassium, which lessens the effect of sodium. So, try to eat one or two bananas daily. Along with bananas, you can try dried apricots, raisins, orange juice, spinach, baked sweet potatoes. 2. Eat one or two crushed garlic cloves daily. You can simply crush them with your hands. Crushing garlic cloves creates hydrogen sulfide, a compound that promotes good blood flow, removes gas and reduces the pressure on the heart. If you do not like eating raw garlic or if it causes a burning sensation, then take it along with a cup of milk. You can also mix five or six drops of garlic juice in four teaspoons of water and take it twice a day. 3.Take a sound sleep and try to avoid anger.

I am 66 years old a diabetic for the past twenty years. I had undergone angioplasty 12 years back. Suddenly I had a lump on the upper portion of my stomach which was moving from left to right side with a back pain. Ultrasound was normal and cardiologist said it it is nothing to do with cardio. In February 2015 my diabetic medicine was changed to zeta meta 500 mg. When I started looking up for drug reaction on the net all my symptoms tallied with zeta meta. I stopped on my own this medicine and increased my insulin by 5 units. All the symptoms including my breathlessness, Heaviness on legs and the lump in my stomach vanishes within 15 days. My physician does not agree with me and he refused to see the print out given by me about the side effects of zeta meta. nowadays I walk 3 to 4 kms and do exercise without breathlessness. I will be happy to get an explanation from any of our eminent doctors.

My age is 25 years. My bp remains very low 93/54 n pulse rate is 89. every time it is low.
Dear User, Please get a routine blood check up but before that I want to tell you that many people have low bp. But you have sufficient energy and no problems associated with it. Then just take a soluntion of salt and sugar (very less amount) daily for 7 days and with that have plenty of water and proper diet. If within 7 days you see your bp getting normal than well and good if still not then get a complete blood count done and consult a nearby Homoeopathic doctor.

Healthy Heart - 5 Must-do Lifestyle Changes For It!

MBBS, Master of Surgery - General Surgery, Magistrar Chirurgiae (Cardio-Thoracic Surgery)
Cardiologist, Faridabad
Healthy Heart - 5 Must-do Lifestyle Changes For It!

Lifestyle is one of the best defences against heart disease. All you need to do to maintain good heart health is to just make simple but significant changes to your lifestyle. By doing so, you end up minimising the risk factors associated with heart disease such as coronary artery disease.

The lifestyle changes that you must make for a healthy heart are:

1. Be physically active - Research by Harvard University shows that watching television for 2 hours a day can increase your chances of developing heart disease by 15%. But if you exercise or indulge in some kind of physical activity for about 30 minutes every day, you can significantly improve the health of your heart as any kind of physical activity improves your blood circulation as well as blood pressure.

2. Maintain a healthy body weight - Having a low body weight or a high one can also put you at risk of getting heart disease. For a good heart health, you need to protect it from fatigue and damage. By keeping your weight at an optimum level, your blood circulation, as well as body fluids, end up working efficiently, protecting your heart from unnecessary strain.

3. Have a balanced diet - Foods that are low in calories but high in fibre and nutrients are what your heart needs to stay healthy. A very common cause of heart disease is the consumption of high cholesterol foods like processed meats, desserts, etc. Including seafood like tuna or salmon, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and lean proteins such as chicken and fish to your diet can reduce your risk of developing heart disease.

4. Manage stress - Stress is another factor that causes you to have poor heart health. To prevent the damaging effect that stress can have on your heart, exercising is what you should do. This is because when you exercise, you release endorphins (brain chemicals that trigger a feel-good feeling in your body), which help in improving your physical and mental makeup. Additionally, exercising has also been found to reduce your chances of dying from a heart attack.

5. Quit smoking - Research reveals that smoking raises your chance of getting heart disease by about 2-4 times. It causes plaque (fatty deposits) to accumulate and harden in your arteries, making your heart to exert itself harder than normal. By kicking the habit, you reduce the strain that is caused to your lungs, thereby to your heart. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a cardiologist.

Blockages in heart is a reason for heart attacks coming frequently, but it is not a reason to not get operated. Get in touch with a good doctor who will investigate for blockages and do operation. May be it looks like that you are scared of a heart operation and you are in denial that the doctor does not want to operate.

Can diabetes and cholesterol can be controlled with out taking medicines? if yes please tell me how?

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Faridabad
Can diabetes and cholesterol can be controlled with out taking medicines? if yes please tell me how?
you should taking both medicines for diabetes and cholesterol . High cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take green veg., whole grain.garlic,. Take anti cholesterol medicines .

Hello, looking at your height and weight your bmi is 27.03 kgs / m2 (normal <23 kgs/m2), which means you are over weight. Your ideal body weight. To get bmi 23 kgs, weight should be down to 71 kgs. This will help in becoming more healthy as well as in controlling all the lipids. Uric acid 8.2 mg is high, that could be the reason for joint pain. To reduce uric acid you will have avoid red meat, organ meat, certain fishes like herring, sardines, salmon, haddock, scallops and mushrooms, mussels. Also avoid alcohol and sweetened aerated drinks. Overall caloric intake also should be matching the ideal body weight (71 x 25 cals = 1775 cals. Plus a daily exercise of over 1 hour is a must. Thanks.
