Good Morning ~ I am so glad you are seeking help for your wife. I am sure that if it were not for your your wife would have been lost due to paranoid schizophrenia. I also realize how hard it is to deal with someone with paranoid schizophrenia and realize that your problems as a care giver are immense. I believe after having read your description of the medications regimen and her symptoms, I am sure you need second opinion and you are at the right place. A small tweak in the medications that you use along with the help of a psychiatrist may make a large difference in your symptoms. I am sure you will also benefit from a paid appointment as it will not be in a public forum and you can get prescriptions for your wife if I believe she would need some medication changes.

I have depression problems. I don't know what I do. Feeling the life is in last stage. I don't understand anything.

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Chennai
I have depression problems.
I don't know what I do. Feeling the life is in last stage. I don't understand anything.
The word depressed is a common everyday word. People might say" i'm depressed" when in fact they mean" i'm fed up because i've had a row, or failed an exam, or lost my job" etc. These ups and downs of life are common and normal. Most people recover quite quickly. With true depression, you have a low mood and other symptoms each day for at least two weeks The common symptoms are (few might be present in a person with depression) Feelings of sadness, tearfulness, emptiness or hopelessness Angry outbursts, irritability or frustration, even over small matters Loss of interest or pleasure in most or all normal activities, such as sex, hobbies or sports Sleep disturbances, including insomnia or sleeping too much Tiredness and lack of energy, so even small tasks take extra effort Changes in appetite — often reduced appetite and weight loss, but increased cravings for food and weight gain in some people Anxiety, agitation or restlessness Slowed thinking, speaking or body movements Feelings of worthlessness or guilt, fixating on past failures or blaming yourself for things that aren't your responsibility Trouble thinking, concentrating, making decisions and remembering things Frequent or recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts or suicide Unexplained physical problems, such as back pain or headaches General medical conditions and substances causing depression also needs to be ruled out. Consult a psychiatrist and get evaluated.

Which medicine is advisable to prevent physical stress during traveling at 16th week of pregnancy.

Which medicine is advisable to prevent physical stress during traveling at 16th week of pregnancy.
No medicine but broken journey is the best medicine in such conditions. I mean, split the total duration of the travelling time into so many that the person can easily tolerate with sufficient rest.

Dear lybrate-user. Welcome to lybrate. I can understand. Loosing someone near and dear is called grief and depression related to grief is pretty normal. But this sort of depression does not stay for long. This depression gets cleared within a span of some weeks. The best option for you is to undergo counseling and depression related therapy. Take care.

Sarika my wife has problem of non epileptic attacks from one year. Doctors says she has stress which she knows but we...
Dear lybrate-user, your wife may be having a dissociation disorder. It needs a private consultation with a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist. But it is not necessary to consult a neurologist. The more you care about her attacks, she will be having more attacks. Please try to care for her emotions and fears when she is normal and try to ignore her when she has attacks. Don't try to wake her up and give her water or sprinkle water on her face or take her from doctor to doctor and get blood and other tests done repeatedly. She will'wake up' on her own if she is left alone. She is unlikely to get an attack when she is alone. So safely you can leave her alone. These are temporary methods, till she talks to a psychiatrist or psychologist. Please get someone from her parent's house to take her to psychiatrist, if possible. Take the doctor's notes as non epileptic attacks to the psychiatrist.

Hello! I want to study hard but not able to concentrate what should I do? Water time I got to study I was busy with social networking at going on phone. I want to make a proper schedule for every thing. May you help me please.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Yes, you must schedule your day giving a lot of emphasis to your study routine. You will get lots of time later on in life to do networking and talking on the phone. Do not lose this opportunity by messing up your performance. You are already displaying some loss of self-control and this could work against you in the long run too. Have a good night?s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. Recently they have discovered that moderate consumption of red wine and peanuts do help. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. If you plan any studying in the afternoon, do only written work, because your biorhythms dip during this time. For subjects that have lengthy portions you can reduce them by making short notes and studying smaller portions instead. If you still find it difficult to study do group study with seriously interested students. If you need some external pressure, then you can go for tuitions or attend tutorials. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with.

Last week I completed my periodontal surgery and my doctor told next step is splinting avoiding loose teeth. But now a days I am completely depressed not able to concentrate any thing even family please suggested me how to come out this problem. Because I read many articles this diseases not curable I am just 35 years old and no bad abit.

Last week I completed my periodontal surgery and my doctor told next step is splinting avoiding loose teeth. But now ...
You need to trust your dentist. And believe the one who's doing your treatment, not those irrelevant articles which are not specifically about your problem. Loose tooth is actually not a big problem. And even if you feel it is, there are many advance surgeries which can cure your problem completely. So, believe in the treatment you are undergoing and carry on the next step. Just throw away your depression, that's the only way to deal with it. Regards.
