Gum diseases, if treated at the initial stage itself can be reversed easily. By getting the accumulated tartar and plaque removed by a dentist, there is a chance that they can get better without much ado.

What is best alternate available to implant as I am afraid of getting it done. I am 50 yr old. Gums are not too good, my doctor told me that implant is possible. Please advice, today I am using removable denture for upper 2 front teeth.

Options for replacing missing teeth are 1. Removable dentures (u are currently using) 2. Fixed partial dentures (wherein we take support from adjacent teeth provided they are strong enough to give support) 3. Implant. Sir, implants are placed under anaesthesia hence painless and will not take more than 45 mins. If you trust your doc and his abilities, give him your nod and let him try and gv you permanently fixed teeth.

Hi , its good that you are aware of your problem yourself. The condition is known as" oral submucous fibrosis" in dental terms and it results due to tobacco chewing in any form (gutkha, khaini, pan masala etc.). If you want to get cured you have to immediately stop the habit of gutkha chewing. Take green tea and lots of tomatoes as they contain antioxidant. Eat lots of sugar free chewing gums.

Teeth are for life, but outer layer called enamel is not resistant to acids, so avoid foods, liquids that generate acid in mouth, also do not brush immediately after acidic drinks as enamel is soft for about 30 minutes, eg after lime juice, fruit juice.

Follow these; 1. Use a soft toothbrush when brushing your teeth. 2. Avoid hard, sharp, spicy and acidic foods and drinks until the ulcer heals? stick to soft foods that are easier to chew. 3. Avoid things that you think may be triggering your ulcers, such as specific foods. 4. Reduce your stress levels by doing an activity that you find relaxing, such as yoga, meditation or exercise. 5. Just check for any sharp teeth or cusps which causes the ulcers. Drink lots of water and add more greens in your diet. These changes in life style and diet helps to an extent.

Parents must hold responsibility for brushing children's teeth until adolescence. Recommended time for brushing is two to three minutes ? one and a half minutes for the upper teeth and one and a half minutes for the Lower teeth. On brushing too long , you may apply much pressure on the teeth that can cause wearing of the enamel and of the gum tissue, which can lead to tooth sensitivity. Proper brushing technique is probably more important than timings. You may consult me in person. DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Dear I would like to share with you that unlike our medical counterparts way of treatment - we are unable to treat toothache by medication only. There has to be cause for toothache which can only be assessed on seeing you clinically and relating your problem with the same. The clinician may require some investigations to get more details as our medical counterparts do, with a stethoscope. Immediate relief could then be at your feet or should I say mouth. When does the pain start? is it localised or generalised? for how long does the pain last before gradually coming down? what aggravates the pain and what gives you relief from the same?

I usually breath from my opened mouth at night. And drop lots of saliva on pillow. How can I cure it? because my nose are always blocked.
