Dear lybrate user, the most important thing is to check about pain occurs in which part of stomach. If its in upper part of abdomen & occurs after meals (as you said), then most likely its ac. Gastritis. Diet changes ll be helpful then. Avoid hot, spicy, too sour or too oily food. No lying down after meals. A glass of cold milk at night will be really helpful. If its in the lower part of abdomen & associated with burning urine, urinary tract is a possibility. Further details will need to be checked then. Hope it helps. Contact for any further query.

You need not go in for surgery now. Take less fatty foods, low cholesterol and high fiber foods. Do not go empty stomach for many hours. Take lots of fluids, 2 to 3 liters per day. This would help. If at any time right upper abdominal pain increases much, then you can then undergo gall bladder removal.

Dear Doctor, I have acid reflex aka gerd since last 4 years and doctor had advised to exclude milk since it will aggravate the reflux. But I am afraid that I will be low on calcium due to avoiding milk. Should I start drinking Soy milk instead? What is your advise on this. Thanks in advance.

You can take that. You can also take other products of your choice. You should try Homeopathy for the acid reflux as it can help heal you naturally. A detailed case history is essential to analyse your case and select a remedy which suits your constitution. A proper diet (a balanced diet) which is healthy is very important. Avoid all junk food and outside food. Have fruits and vegetables everyday. You should also start doing Yoga as it can enhance the healing process. You can contact me online for a private consultation.

I am suffering from fistula above anal since 1 year. What are the remedies should be taken to overcome this problem for lifetime without operation.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
I would suggest you Sitz bath: take hot water in a tub and add betadine solution, cover your anal area and sit for 15-20 minutes twice a day if possible thrice a day. It will reduce bleeding and helpful for healing. Wash the anal area with mild soap, pat dry and apply the Lignocaine jelly after bowel movement and at bedtime. Liquid cremaffin plus 2 tsp twice a day. You should prevent constipation by eating healthy food, which contains fiber. Avoid spicy, fatty, heavy meals and meat. Avoid smoking if you smoke. If your symptoms persist, I would suggest you visit a general surgeon for clinical and physical examination. Treatment (medical or surgical) can be decided by surgeon. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any queries, I will be happy to help you. Thank you.

My sister has to get operated she has gall bladder stone who is best doc and which hospital is good and reasonable I am in C R Park Delhi.

Gall bladder surgery is a common surgerydone at most hospitals. Laparoscopic technique is the gold standard now. Choice of hospital would depend upon finances a lot. Corporate hospitals like max hospital, fortis, bl kapur, ganga ram hospital etc are good options. For lesser budget nursing homes and smaller hospitals are there. Govt and charitable hospitals also provide this facility at negligible costs.

Once your pregnancy test is negative, the cause of pain in abdomen may be infection only. You should get your urine checked as this is the most common cause in ladies. Contact doctor.
