Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

I met with an accident recently. I thought that my leg is fractured. I consulted my doctor and did my xray. It was normal. Till now pain remains as it is. I can not even sit properly. Can you suggest me actually what hap to my leg?

Fellowship in Joint Replacement, Fellowship in Hand Surgery, MS - Orthopaedics, MBBS
Orthopedist, Bangalore
Hi, as you have met with an accident there was injury to your leg, luckily you don't have a fracture but there will be blunt injury to your bone and muscles. It takes time for your injury to heal. You may be having swelling. Basically you require rest and medications. Rest is the main treatment. Crepe bandage and foot end elevation will help for swelling.

Food does not cause any disease. But you can make your own food dairy about the food which is causing recurrent problem to you. There are many myths about various foods. Which is not realistic. So eat whatever suits you.

Hello you are suffering from the back pain caused by long continuous sitting posture and sedentary life style. you are advised to take 10 minutes break after every 2 hour sitting.Start a morning walk for at least 30 minutes.Regular walking is also very helpful as it is a wholesome exercise of the body, improves blood circulation and helps lose weight.Try to maintain a correct sitting posture. Take homoeopathic medicine Rhus tox. 200, 5 drops twice daily for 10 days, then revert me with feed back.

I am about 47 years old. I have been suffering from pain for last 7/8 months in the lower portion of elbow joint in my right hand. Sometimes, the veins of my right hand in the lower portion become swallowing and even I do not carry small things. I have consulted with orthopaedic doctors about 4 months back. But pain killer tablet did not relieve me. On the contrary I felt very uneasy immediately after consuming the dose. Therefore I stopped consuming tablets. Please advice.

U should go for an X-ray of your elbow as sometimes due to weak bones pathological fractures may occur, or it may be due to low calcium or vit d3 deficiency or due to sprain or due to remote effects of past injury or it may b due to orhervorthopaedic causes. In all the conditions Homoeopathic medicines are very beneficial if selected on the basis of symptom similarity.

Hey guys! I'm a 16 years old male! So here's the story, looking to keep it as short as possible! I'verecently had this hamstring, glutes injuries around 3-4 months ago. It all started by me doing squats with the squatting machine in the gym. It was my first time doing it and with my stubborn head I've put as much weight on the machine as I could possibly lift. I didn't feel it then but the next day I could barely walk. Which was understandable but, in the following week it didn't get much better. And when I actually thought it was going to get better, it gradually got worse over time. Maybe because I started doing bodyweight exercises such as normal squats then few weeks later tuck jumps. I also recently started doing stretches for my legs. Butit doesn't seem to help. I used to put oil on my leg (Oil that muay thai fighter use) and it didn't seem to help either. Then of course I stopped doing the squats and any sort of exercises for my legs. It's only my right hamstring that is affected and the right side of my glutes which ispretty weird. I really don't know what to do. Also, my leg isn't swollen or you couldn't really tell if you'd look at my leg that it's messed up. It's particularly sore when I do sit ups, for example, when I lock my feet under a bed and then try to do a sit up. It's also really sore when I try to touch my toes with straight legs and when I sit down, straighten my legs and try to touch my toes then. It's a little sore when I just walk too.
