My father is having a back pain for more than 2 months. We try all ointments but their is no improvement? Give some yoga tips or what to do to get him fine?

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hi lybrate-user, pls do a blood test called serum b-hcg. This will confirm if there is a pregnancy or not. Do not worry. Missed or delayed periods can be due to many reasons. Wtever it is. Can be sorted.

All that a Mom should know about oral health care to maintain her baby’s set of Pearly Whites:

Right time to begin brushing baby’s teeth – as soon as the 1st tooth erupts.

  • After feeding use a damp gauze or cloth gently wipe the mouth of any residue left behind.
  • Use either an over finger brush or a soft bristled brush for infants to clean the teeth.
  • Initially use a wet toothbrush and slowly move to kid’s toothpaste.

Choosing a toothpaste for kids –

  • Now a days fluoridated toothpaste for kids in very small quantity i.e rice grain sized is recommended.
  • Watermelon / bubblegum/ strawberry flavours can increase the kid’s interest towards brushing.

Brushing technique –

  • Teach your kids to brush using a small circular motion. Brush twice daily. Make it a game or sing a song to encourage brushing.
  • Toothbrushes are now available with music or lights or cartoon figures to make brushing more fun.

Tips to maintaine good oral hygiene –

  • Apart from brushing it is important to cleanse the mouth in between the meals.
  • Do not put infants to sleep with milk formula or juice as sugary liquids cling to teeth and cause decay.
  • Avoid pacifiers as they change the shape of the mouth and cause improperly placed teeth.
  • After giving medicine or eating sweet like chocolates, ice-cream encourage kids to wash mouth with water and clean with a damp cloth for infants.
  • Get fluoride treatment done every 6 months from dentist for prevention of caries.

Milk teeth are very important -

  • For maintaining the oral health.
  • Also to determine the shape of mouth and alignment of permanent teeth.

Sodium commonly found in salt is usually consumed in excess in our food savouries. A lot of sodium is found in packaged foods in the form of additives preservatives too.

High sodium intake can be reduced by avoiding foods like

    Sauces, ketchup spreads

    Salted canned fish and other foods

Do health check ups. Beside you can try these. Do exercise like weight lifting and others, push ups, yoga etc. Eat extra amount of foods more frequently. Avoid fast foods as far as possible. Add ghee, butter, cream etc with foods. Use dense fruits, vegetables. Take refined foods extra with unrefined foods. Use extra meat, fish, egg etc. Use more healthy fat in cooking. Drink lots of water but not just before or during meals. Avoid smoking, alcohol. Take proper rest. These are common but more more details and quick effective result consult me privately on lybrate.

I am 38 years old, I am over weight with 15 kgs, right now I am 65 kgs, can you please suggest any weight reduction medicines, I have ligament tear on my right knee, due to over weight unable to walk.

Weight reduction you need to have a diet and exercise plan based on your bmi, age & weight and sex, presence of any diseases. There are exercises specific for each part of body like hips, thighs or abdomen. Comprehensive exercise& diet plan based on whether vegetarian /non vegetarian can be given. May also need to do some tests. In brief, weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. And by appropriate exercise plans for each part like belly, thighs, legs etc. To burn off fat. Some tips 1) drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take 1/4 of your total diet as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests.

Hello lybrate-user, weight loss is the result of a holistic approach that includes- 1. Balanced diet rich in proteins and fibre like- egg, chicken, fish, milk, curd, paneer, sprouts, oats, wholegrain cereals and pulses, fruits and vegetables (fibre) 2. Exercise- doing 40-50 minutes of moderate to high intensity activity for 4-5 days/ week will help (walking/jogging/swimming etc) 3. Adding good quality fat like nuts and oilseeds-almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds (alsi) will help. 4. Rest for 7-8 hours to rejuvenate your system so it can work efficiently. 5. Follow these usefultips for knee pain relief: * first check out your bone mineral density (bmd). In case of low bmd, your calcium level in body are low. So take take calcium rich diet daily. I have pimples & black spots from last few years. L have used brightcream along with tenovate cream. I also used droxyl pills & azithromycin. But those spots did not clear& they are reputed. What should I do.

These are the best methods to cure pimples fast -: • To control the sebum (oily) secretion you should maintain your hormonal level. Because imbalance in hormone level causes excessive sebum (oil) production and causes pimples. So do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Do not touch your pimple because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. My 16 years old daughter was prescribed Wysolone @5x25 mg tabs x 4 days then @ 20 mg tabs for 4 days for skin allergy. The course is over day before. Don't chew tobacco products and don't smoke, don't eat spicy food at all. Use isabgol husk 2tsp twice a day wd luke warm water as a stool softener to reduce strain during motions which increases the problem. Use annovate gel before going to motion. Ask your surgeon about surgical procedures available.
