The symptoms you are describing seems to indicate deficiency of Thyroid / Iron / Calcium / Vit D. It is better you get a Complete Blood Test - CBC along with complete body check up package test done. These tests should include Calcium./ Vit D tests done. This will give some indication about the cause of your problems. Then the problem can be resolved.

Hairs will definately go off with time. You can use home remedies like Mix turmeric and milk and apply on the baby from top to bottom after the oiling session. Let it dry. Then, remove with a soft wash cloth dipped in milk. And, give a bath to the baby. You do not have to use any soap or cleanser after this procedure as milk cleanses the skin. Do not use any of products if your baby skin is sensitive.

These are the methods to treat pimples - •Steam your face to open the pores, which in turn clear the skin. Steam your face for a couple of minutes. • Do YOGASANA daily. Especially do SINHASANA & SARVANGASANA daily. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Do not touch your face again & again because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. • Mix black pepper powder in some water to make paste & apply on the pimples three times a week. • Take cucumber and papaya pulp. Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTSHODHAK syrup of BAIDYANATH company once a day after meals

I am 13 years old. When I am studying, I am not able to concentrate, and I get distracted easily. What should I do for it?

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry, CE (New York)

Start with a topic which you find interesting. Your sittings should be around 40 minutes as research has showed that average human concentration span is around 40-45 min. Don' t overtake coffee or tea, as they tend to make you anxious and worsen the concentration. Also regular exercising helps a lot in improving concentration.

I am 19 year old and. I am smoke cigarette. And I am sports man. Is it affects my stamina or my body.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Both. Take a look at all the possible damage: Summary: (Source: Center for Disease Control and Prevention) • Cigarette smoking causes more than 480,000 deaths each year in the United States. This is nearly one in five deaths. • More than 10 times as many U.S. citizens have died prematurely from cigarette smoking than have died in all the wars fought by the United States during its history. • Smoking causes about 90% (or 9 out of 10) of all lung cancer deaths in men and women.1,2 More women die from lung cancer each year than from breast cancer. • About 80% (or 8 out of 10) of all deaths from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are caused by smoking. • Cigarette smoking increases risk for death from all causes in men and women. • Smoking is estimated to increase the risk— o For coronary heart disease by 2 to 4 times o For stroke by 2 to 4 times o Of men developing lung cancer by 25 times • Of women developing lung cancer by 25.7 times • Smoking causes diminished overall health, increased absenteeism from work, and increased health care utilization and cost. • Smoking causes stroke and coronary heart disease. • Even people who smoke fewer than five cigarettes a day can have early signs of cardiovascular disease. • Smoking damages blood vessels and can make them thicken and grow narrower. This makes your heart beat faster and your blood pressure go up. Clots can also form. • Blockages caused by smoking can also reduce blood flow to your legs and skin. • Lung diseases caused by smoking include COPD, which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis. • Cigarette smoking causes most cases of lung cancer. • If you have asthma, tobacco smoke can trigger an attack or make an attack worse. • Smokers are 12 to 13 times more likely to die from COPD than nonsmokers. Smoking can cause cancer almost anywhere in your body: • Bladder • Blood (acute myeloid leukemia) • Cervix • Colon and rectum (colorectal) • Esophagus • Kidney and ureter • Larynx • Liver • Oropharynx (includes parts of the throat, tongue, soft palate, and the tonsils) • Pancreas • Stomach • Trachea, bronchus, and lung • Smoking can make it harder for a woman to become pregnant and can affect her baby's health before and after birth. Smoking increases risks for: o Preterm (early) delivery o Stillbirth (death of the baby before birth) o Low birth weight o Sudden infant death syndrome (known as SIDS or crib death) o Ectopic pregnancy o Orofacial clefts in infants • Smoking can also affect men's sperm, which can reduce fertility and also increase risks for birth defects and miscarriage. • Smoking can affect bone health. o Women past childbearing years who smoke have weaker bones than women who never smoked, and are at greater risk for broken bones. • Smoking affects the health of your teeth and gums and can cause tooth loss. • Smoking can increase your risk for cataracts (clouding of the eye’s lens that makes it hard for you to see) and age-related macular degeneration (damage to a small spot near the center of the retina, the part of the eye needed for central vision). • Smoking is a cause of type 2 diabetes mellitus and can make it harder to control. The risk of developing diabetes is 30–40% higher for active smokers than nonsmokers. • Smoking causes general adverse effects on the body, including inflammation and decreased immune function. • Smoking is a cause of rheumatoid arthritis.

Will diabetes have any impact on our sexual life especially when it is under control.
Dear lybrate-user, ideally it should not. Since you are already on insulin it means that you are absolutely normal in all other aspects like a non diabetic individual, provided your sugar levels are maintained well. Please start or continue self glucose monitoring and a 3 monthly hba1c record and do not worry.

For that you need to understand what is wrong with the pain site is there a degenerative changes or a inflammatory response or something wrong with you yoga practice. So first stop you practice for 3 to 4 day and note the intensity of pain if its reduce significantly it might be because of some wrong yogasana your doing. If not do x day or MRI and consult you physician. For now do back stretching, hot pack and rest.

Hello- Use a neutral water based lubrication for sex. It will not affect your future pregnancy chances. in the meanwhile, improve your diet, consume dairy products like milk and ghee in excess and perform pelvic stretches in the morning. These changes will improve blood supply of your genitals and will stimulate the production of vaginal lubrication naturally.

Crohn's Disease - When Should You Go For Surgery?

DNB (Surgical gastroenterology, MS( General Surgery), MBBS, Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery, Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery, Fellow of International College of Robotic Surgeons
Surgical Gastroenterologist, Delhi
Crohn's Disease - When Should You Go For Surgery?

Crohn's Disease is a medical condition that falls under the category of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Crohn's disease triggers inflammation of the digestive tract resulting in ulcerations and sores, mostly affecting people between 17-30 years (people of other age groups can also be affected). The inflammatory disease is a chronic illness that gives rise to a host of complications such as frequent and chronic diarrhea, fever, rapid weight loss, abdominal pain, to name a few.
Unfortunately, there is no permanent treatment available for Crohn's Disease. However, effective remedies and treatments are available to reduce and manage the symptoms and complications associated with Crohn's Disease. Many people dealing with Crohn's Disease have benefitted immensely from surgery.

When surgery is recommended for Crohn's Disease?

A surgery becomes essential when the medicines and other nonsurgical treatments fail to control or manage the symptoms and complications triggered by Crohn's Disease, some of which include

  1. Severe intestinal inflammation followed by uncontrolled bleeding
  2. There is a bowel abscess or a perforation
  3. Toxic Megacolon (a fatal condition whereby the large intestine swells up and also becomes dilated due to the inflammation that affects the intestinal walls)
  4. Fistula
  5. An intestinal blockage or narrowing of the intestinal

The surgery for a Crohn's Disease can be of different types depending on the part of the digestive tract affected.

  1. Colectomy: This is mainly carried out in the case of the Crohn's Disease causing such extensive damage to the colon that it needs to be surgically removed. Following the removal of the colon, the small intestine may be connected to the rectum to ensure that the bowel movement is not affected.
  2. Bowel Resection: A bowel resection is usually performed to treat a fistula or to get rid of the diseased and inflamed portion of the intestine to avoid further aggravation.
  3. Proctocolectomy (Ileostomy): This surgery is performed to get rid of both the rectum and the colon affected extensively by Crohn's Disease. Here also, post removal of the organs, the surgeon connects the small intestine (end part or the ileum) to the stroma or a small opening in the abdomen. This rearrangement is done to ensure that the wastes from the small intestine get eliminated.
  4. Stricturoplasty: This surgery goes a long way to open up the areas of the small intestine that have narrowed down due to Crohn's Disease.

Risks associated with the surgery
Every surgery comes with their share of side-effects and risks. In the case of Crohn's Disease, the surgeries can give rise to complications such as

  1. Pain, swelling, bruising is common.
  2. There may be Infection at the site of the incision.
  3. Scarring at the incision site.
  4. There can be a blockage of the bowel (temporary or short-term)
  5. Surgical removal of the diseased part of the small intestine can trigger inadequate absorption of the vital nutrients (Short-Gut Syndrome).

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

I am facing with premature ejaculation problem .please suggest me any medicine for control this problem.

MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Chennai
I am facing with premature ejaculation problem .please suggest me any medicine for control this problem.
Premature ejaculation is uncontrolled ejaculation either before or shortly after sexual penetration or foreplay. It happens with minimal sexual stimulation and before the person wishes. It may result in unsatisfactory sex for both partners. This can increase the anxiety that may add to the problem. It is one of the most common forms of male sexual dysfunction. It has probably affected every man at some point in his life. Most cases of premature ejaculation do not have a clear cause. With sexual experience and age, men often learn to delay orgasm. Psychological factors such as anxiety, guilt, or depression can also cause it. In some cases, it may be related to a medical cause such as hormonal problems, injury, or a side effect of certain medicines. Consult a psychiatrist online or in person Your doctor will discuss your medical and sexual history with you. He or she will do a thorough physical exam. Your doctor may want to talk to your partner also. Premature ejaculation can have many causes. So your doctor may order lab tests to rule out any other medical problem. In many cases premature ejaculation gets better on its own over time. Treatment may not be needed. Practicing relaxation techniques or using distraction methods may help you delay ejaculation. Your doctor may recommend that you and your partner practice certain techniques to help delay ejaculation, as well as medications are there to help. All the best There are excellent medications for PE, but you need to answer few questions on general health as well as PE for any psychiatrist to prescribe. Consult anyone in person or online if you wish. All the best.

Erectile dysfunction (ed) should never be ignored. It can even represent early stage of heart disease or diabetes or some other severe disease. So, instead of going to medicine shop to buy medicines and taking risks, consult doctor so that the cause can be found out and can be treated properly to give you complete cure. At the same time it is important to boost up your confidence.

Six Common Causes for Shoulder Pain

MBBS, MS - Orthopaedics, Fellow In Joint Replacement , Fellow In Arthroscopy
Orthopedist, Hyderabad
Six Common Causes for Shoulder Pain

The shoulder is one of the most important joints in the body that uses a ball and socket to join the arm to the rest of the body. Any pain can make it difficult to carry out motion in a comfortable manner. The shoulder consists of the long arm bone called the humerus, the collarbone or the clavicle, as well as the shoulder blade called the scapula. A layer of cartilage provides essential padding to the bones in this area and its two main joints. There are a number of issues that can cause shoulder pain. Let us get to know the six most common ones.

  1. Rotator Cuff Injury: This is the most common cause of shoulder pain and it occurs when the four muscles or the tendons are injured. These muscles and tendons usually control the movement of the arm. This injury can involve strains and tears which may also be caused by constant lifting of heavy objects.
  2. Rotator Cuff Tendonitis: This condition affects the tendons and muscles that help in moving the arm freely. This usually happens due to inflammation in the tendons. It is commonly experienced by patients who are actively involved in sports and other heavy physical pursuits in their line of work.
  3. Frozen Shoulder: This is a debilitating condition that restricts the free movement of the arm and is also known as adhesive capsulitis. When the shoulder tissues become too thick, it leads to the growth of scar tissue that hinders proper movement and causes pain.
  4. Osteoarthritis: Osteoarthritis is a condition that comes as part of aging bones that also become hollow and brittle over the passage of time, which leads to joint and bone pains in various parts of the body. It is a degenerative disease that is caused due to prolonged wear and tear as well as other factors including family history and sports injury.
  5. Bursitis: This condition is known to affect the fluid filled sacs that lie in between the joints. These are known as bursae. When the bursae suffers from swelling, the effect usually shows up as pain in the joints.
  6. Tendon Sheath Inflammation: The fibrous tissue that connects the bones and the muscles is called a tendon. The presence of the tendon makes it possible to pursue activities like running, jumping, lifting, gripping and more. It is protected by a sheath known as synovium, which also lubricates the same. Any injury or tear to this sheath can cause shoulder pain.

Acute and persistent pain that does not abate and gets even worse should be treated with immediate medical intervention.
