I have a question that I am suffering from urine infection very frequently, felt pain when urine is passing.

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), MS - Urology, MBBS
Urologist, Ahmedabad
Dear, if you repeated urinary infection then one hae to differentiate between recurrence and relapse. Causes may be many like inadequate dose, inadequate duration, method of taking the medicine like empty stoch for full dtomach. Beyond this one has to find out the cause for recurrent infection like diabetes urinary obstruction, stone or reflux. If you have been investigated before post your reports along with pictures of scan if not then get urine examination andusg done with full bladder volume, bladder wall thickness on full bladder and post vopid residual urine volume. I drink soya milk a lot but my friends tell me that it is injurious for kidney and it can cause kidney failure is the soya milk is harmful for kidney.

M. Sc. Foods, Nutrition & Dietetics, B.Sc-Home Science

It's just a myth. Fact is definitely one can consume soya and soya products for good muscle and loosing weight and to shed those extra fats. Remember anything in excess and overloads turns poisonous therefore, more protein than needed also shows an effect on the kidneys.

Take 8 to 10 glasses of water. You can apply mild moisturiser after the bath and if the skin is oily then mild talc may help after bath. This will relieve itching. If loss of appetite with yellow urine then get your urine test done for bile salts and bile pigments. Blood test for s.bilirubin is required.

It occurs continuously everyday when I stop intaking of water for a while also. I have to drink more and more water for every 10 minutes if not painful urination occurs. Please suggest some solution.

MBBS
General Physician,
You might be having urinary tract infection. You need to do urine examination for r/m/e along with blood glucose. Drink plenty of water daily. Wash your genitalia every time after urinating. Never hold your urge to urinate, as soon you feel to urinate - do it. Cranberry juice is helpful. Maintain hygiene and clean sanitation practises. Hope that solve your query.

Stomach burning can be due to acidity. Cold milk is good for you as tea/ coffee may worsen. Blood in urine or haematuria as we doctors call it may be due to a bad urine infection, renal stones or other kidney ailments too. Please get a scan to get kidneys visualised, any stone. Get a detailed urine routine microscopic culture sensitivity test too.
