4 years back I took finasteride 1 mg for 27 days for hairloss n quit the drug after I experienced a lot of side effects such as loss of libido, brain fog, acute lower back pain, depression, gynecomastia, weight gain on hips n mid section, water retention, sleeplessness, erectile dysfunction etc. Though symptoms have been getting better after 4 years but some symptoms still persists. Recently I have diagnosed with hypothyroidism, kidney n gall stone as well. Please help. I don't want to take medicine for hypothyroidism as I have had side effects from it thyronorm 50 mcg. My estradiol is 45 n serum testosterone is around 350 which is low for 32 year young guy who don't even smoke n drink.

Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

Standing calf stretch stand away from a wall and. Put your fight foot behind you and be sure your toes are facing forward. Lean forward at the ankle while bending the right knee and keeping your heel on the ground. Hold this for 30 to 60 seconds. Repeat 10 times a twice a day.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

There might be some tear in the meniscus. You will need to be examined and then maybe a mri will be required

My MRI report is Minimal right knee joint effusion Partial tear of posterior cruciate ligament. Ligamentous sprain/ low grade partial tear of ACL Grade 2 medical signal (intrasubtance meniscus tear) in posterior horn of medial meniscus in right knee. So what treatment for it.

partial tears of the ligaments dont need surgery. You can use a knee brace for a couple of weeks for the acute injury effects to settle down. avoid high impact activities in the long term

Hi. I had an injury in my knee. After going through MRI test we come to know that my right leg complete ligament (ACL) got teared. Is that fine if i leave it as it is without surgery. As my orthopedic doctor suggest surgery for reconstruction of ligament.

Answer to this question will depend on your clinical signs and symptoms, your examination, your age, status of your knee. You need proper discussion with expert who deals only in ligament injuries not just orthopedic surgeon. Dr Prashant Parate.

Patient may have some leg muscle weakness due to low back problem or general age related weakness. Also there might be ataxia. Consult a physio for better examination.

Kindly show me photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again.

You can have hot water fermentation for 20 min. And there are few physiotherapy exs and machines which will give you relief. For this you have to go to some good physiotherapy center for 10 -15 days. Once you learn the exs, you can do them at home itself. You hv to do the exs regulary even if no pain persists. Do not bend in forward direction. If you want to pick up something from the floor, then first sit in squat position and then pick the thing. Always get up from your bed in side turn position. Use cushions and support on your your back area while sitting. Avoid sitting for long hrs.

Hi I can understand your problem. For pain and swelling apply cold pack for 20 min. Thrice a day for 5 days. There are various reasons for arm pain and there are different non surgical treatment options for same in physiotherapy. Visit a local physiotherapist and take regular treatment. They will use physical modalities to relieve pain and will also guide her about the muscle strengthening excercises. Strengthening is must in this case. Without that medicines can only suppress pain but not the root cause.

You required both local and systemic treatment 1- dashanga lepa 10 gm, prepare a paste and apply on the painful knee at night, in morning clean it. 2- in morning do gentle massage with warm mahanarayan oil of painful knee 3- yograj guggul 500 mg one tablet twice in a day with no 4 medicine 4- maharasnadi kwath 15 ml twice in a day after food continue for 6 weeks and give feed back after one month.

Back pain is common among riders and is usually due to muscular spasm though there may be other causes too. You may need some physiotherapy to help relax your back muscles followed by some spine strengthening exercises.
