There is no medicine to stop drinking liquor. There is however, antabuse, which is administered to an addict with his full knowledge and cooperation. The reason is that after taking this medication, if he ever takes even a small quantity of liquor, he can have very adverse reactions that may entail hospitalizations too. This is used to curb his impulses. This can be obtained from a psychiatrist?s prescription only and has to be responsibly taken and administered.

How to stop internet addiction?

Use of the Internet is legitimate in business and home practice such as in electronic correspondence to venders or electronic banking. Therefore, traditional abstinence models are not practical interventions when they prescribe banned Internet use. The focus of treatment should consist of moderation and controlled use. In this relatively new field, outcome studies are not yet available. However, based upon individual practitioners who have seen Internet addicted patients and prior research findings with other addictions, several techniques to treat Internet addiction are: (a) practice the opposite time in Internet use, (b) use external stoppers, (c) set goals, (d) abstain from a particular application, (e) use reminder cards, (f) develop a personal inventory, (g) enter a support group, and (h) family therapy.

And in what way we can control and please reply to my questions.
If the work load is causing the stress, learn to manage your work well. You could talk to your supervisor and tell him about the stress and he may suggest some better ways of doing what you are doing. Stress is eventually all about the perception of stress. If you change the outlook, the result will be 350`different. If there is a possibility to delegate some work to someone else, please do so. To feel energized you must eat healthy food involving whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Drink green tea and a lot of buttermilk every day. You may eat an egg every day too: it is a multivitamin and multi-mineral, all built into one. You must exercise regularly, especially the aerobic kind. Get at least 8 hours of good sleep and the more you sleep before midnight the better. Learn some stress management and meditation. You must identify our feelings and make sure you express all of them, appropriately. Maintain good relations, especially at home. Deep breathing exercises help to calm a person, immediately. Do not indulge in drinking and smoking.

Dear, welcome to lybrate. Yoga alone can never cure depression. Clinical depression or depressive disorder is a neurochemical disorder. Clinical depression is usually treated with a combination of psychiatric medicines, psychotherapy, life style changes, meditation and exercise. I hope you are undergoing psychiatric treatment, otherwise, please approach a psychiatrist. Once you make the necessary amendments in your life with the help of the above said therapies and life style changes, learn how to manage the depressive episodes without medicines and learn to relax, the medicines can be weaned off over a period of one year. The best option for you is to undergo counseling and depression related therapy. Take care.

4 Signs You Might Be Suffering from Hallucinations

DNB (Neurology), MD/MBBS - General Medicine

Ask Free Question
Getting hallucinations is a mental condition where a person sees, feels, hears, and tastes things that actually don't exist beyond one's heightened imagination or delusion. It involves the experience of perceiving something not present.

Hallucinations can be pleasing or frightening. However, there is almost always an identifiable cause behind it.

They can be triggered by:
1. Taking hallucinogenic or psychotropic substances
2. Mental conditions like dementia and schizophrenia
3. Neurological conditions like Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease
4. Macular degeneration, leading to loss of vision
5. Migraines and brain tumor can also lead to such delusions

Some of the signs of hallucinations:
Hearing voices
The medical term for hearing voices is called an 'auditory hallucination'. A person may sense sounds or noises coming from inside or outside of their mind. The noise might be random or disrupting. One might also feel the voices talking to each other or trying to tell them something. Most of the times, these voices come from inside the person's mind; or in some cases, one's heightened perception may make a normal noise delusional.

Seeing things
This is also called visual hallucinations. For instance, one may see unnatural things like a floating chair in thin air. It all depends on a person's perception. Sometimes these hallucinations appear as bright flashy spots or rays of light.
False sense of taste and smell

Technically, these are known as gustatory and olfactory hallucinations respectively. One may feel a kind of odor coming from one's body or surrounding; or a person might feel that something he/she is drinking or eating has an odd taste. This is again too much thinking, causing delusional sensory activities.

Tactile hallucinations
This is when a person feels things that don't exist. One may feel that he/she is being touched or tickled even when no one else is around or that insects are crawling beneath the skin. One may experience strange sensations, which are not a part of a reality.

Hello lybrate user. Yes definitely you can quit smoking completely. Smoking cigarettes for long time is nicotine addiction and it gets difficult to quit smoking. Usually people start smoking with friends just for experimentation and later for enjoyment and still later to relieve stress in life, but what they forget is that gradually smoking becomes a compulsion in their life and then whenever a stressful situation arises they smoke. Even the previously pleasure giving food items or activities are no more pleasurable to the same extent. You start spending more and more time in obtaining and enjoying smoking cigarettes. We have medications which decreases craving and helps in quitting smoking completely. Along with medications making simple changes in lifestyle and bringing about stress management in life can have miraculous effects in quitting smoking addiction. I hope that you quit smoking in the near future and resume a healthy life. For help feel free to contact.

You are going through grief reaction, which is normal after loss of a loved one. Time is the healer for the emotional and behavioral changes, however if your depression is severe enough to affect you in a significant manner, kindly consult a psychiatrist for short term antidepressant medication, depending on the complaints. Try to get away from loneliness and meet other friends or relatives.
