Lybrate-user, what you are going through is greaving. Loosing loved one is not easy to deal with emotionally. I am sorry for your loss. There are few things I would like you to try. 1. When you feel sad. Feel the feeling of sadness fully. You may close your eyes and let that sadness flow through your mind and body. If tears flow let them flow. Cry it out. Feeling what you feel fully and totally is healing. Once you feel your sadness fully. You might feel the lightness in your heart. Feel that too and say out loud. How wonderful! and engage your mind remembering some good qualities and good times you spent with the person you are missing. 2. Regular simple breath awareness meditation also help manage your loss. 3. You may also l write daily 3 to 5 things you are grateful to every morning. These things could be as simple as having a bed to sleep and food to eat. Affirm what you write and add new thing in your list for 7 to10 days. If you are not feeling any change over next 2 weeks or if you lack motivation to initiate and maintain above activities feel free revert and we could work together for few weeks to months to reverse your cycle and help you appreciate what you have. Hope this helps wishing you very best.

It all depends on the vocal cords anatomical position and I will suggest you to rehearse your music as per your normal voice and do normal gargling and avoid any unnecessary food items and don't strain your self much and it can also be possible that after slow rehearsal you can get the pitch you want but it would take extra time.

I am want to stop chew tobacco but if m M not chewing so feeling mouth pain and headache please suggest me what I do.

I am want to stop chew tobacco but if m
M not chewing so feeling mouth pain and headache please suggest me what I do.
Those are the withdrawal symptoms and will go away in a short while. Chewing tobacco is really harmful especially because it is known to cause oral cancer and oral submucous fibrosis (SMF). Since it is an oral habit there are many substitutes that can be used to replace the oral stimulation. Of course, since it is a stimulant you cannot get the same effect and that is worth the loss to give up this very addictive habit. A dense fibrous tissue is deposited in the submucosal layer of the soft palate and cheek, causing disabling symptoms like trismus. It contains betel nuts, tobacco, lime, catechu and permitted spices and flavors. The first four substances damage the sensitive mucosa, causing constant irritation and micro trauma to the mucosa. Chemicals present act as a toxin. The phenol in the betel nut, with its caustic burning effect, destroys the mucosa, causing oral ulcers. The betel nut also contains tannins, which act as astringents, precipitating protein and damaging the mucosa. Altogether, this substance is known to be physiologically addictive. You can use replacements like nicotine chewing gum (if you want the stimulant effect, especially in the beginning) or ordinary chewing gum, hard candy and any other orally satiating substance, especially when the urge is very strong. You would have got conditioned to the habit to different times of the day and different situations. You must particularly avoid those occasions and occupy yourself with something else attractive. You should get regular exercise, eat healthily, and get a good night’s rest every day. Visit a dentist and clean up your teeth and gums to wipe out all the reminders and damages of the habit. You may also get a thorough oral check up and treatment for any damages incurred. If he is unable to give it up on his own, he needs to be admitted into a rehabilitation center nearby until he is completely out of it. They will have him deal with all other issues also and so his anger outbursts will also get attention. The anger may or may not have anything to do with the addiction but still it is better he deals with it in the course of his therapy. Even after he comes out of the center, he must continue therapy and attend Smokers Anonymous meetings regularly.

hello sir, I am neenu doing mba in chennai. I am facing some problem mattanly and physically also. I cannot concentrate in class also give me some suggestions as soon as possible.

You must be under some stress or creating stress. Meet with a counselor and do sort that out for good memory. In the meantime do the following: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid sugar and junk food.

Hi my friend is suffering in mind stress. She not able to sleep properly. Can you suggest some medicines.
Stress affect our mind and body in various ways, inability to fall asleep is one of them. Your friend should first try stress management, reduce stress, try to solve your problem which is causing stress, talk about your problem with family and friends who can suggest ways to solve your problems, practice deep breathing. If your friend still has sleep problem then consult Psychiatrist for further treatment.

I am having mood swing issue, I easily get angry and depressed, what should I do?

Hypnotherapist, Reconnective Healing Practioner
Psychologist, Mumbai
Sit by yourself, close your eyes. Take 3 deep breaths, then just observe your breathing. Once you feel centred ask yourself why are you so upset, angry at yourself, your surrounding or situation. If you feel helpless reach out to a friend who you can talk with. Depression is a sign of holding within and not expressing yourself clearly. You are bottling up your frustration and that is creating anger within. Release it by excercising, walking in the park and spending time with what you really enjoy doing. Learn to meditate and most important make friends and spend time with them chatting and doing fun things. If you find doing all this difficult, reach out to a counsellor or psychologist.

Some of your problem may be true because of your age. I suspect that you are going through a spurt in the production of the male sex hormone, which affects you in three ways quite unknown to you. First, there will be a sexual agenda that it will kick off, secondly, there will be aggressiveness and rebelliousness, and thirdly, you will suffer from acne and pimple problems. This is the effect of the hormone that has a duration of almost two years and you will have no control over it. But if you have a good value system you will tide over this phase without significant damage. The hormonal imbalances may not only impact your memory because of the chemical but also bring along some distractions that come with it. But you may work on the following even if the hormones kick in: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. I feel really depressed about every small thing and have been prone to crying for every little thing that goes wrong....
You need to consult any professional for proper diagnosis and reason of your problem.in the meantime you can try few things which will help you. Take proper sleep of 7-8 hours try to avoid sleep at day time. Its in our hand to be happy what it requires is slightly change in your approach ,stop thinking that something is wrong with me I am not well make yourself as much busy as you can so that you don't get time to think on all this. And its everyone's right is to be happy we cannot change the thinking of people or situation around us but we can get the things or reasons which make us happy, what we can do is to live every second of life, what do you want to be, what do you want to eat, to do, your career, your friends, your likings etc. Develop some hobby, make some good friends, make yourself busy, as much you will think you will get frustrate and will gain nothing, live only for yourself, and this can be possible when you will involve yourself in some other things ,the main concept is that make yourself as much busy as you can so that you don't get free time to think on this. First start from joining any hobby class and make any good friend with whom you can share everything ,do some yoga and meditation, expand your social circle. Take care.

Besides the medication, your mother needs to go for counseling also. In the meantime let her do the following: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest she does the opposite of what this depression makes her feel like doing (actually, not doing): she will need to fight this condition. She must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose herself to some sunlight every day, at least 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, she needs to incorporate these three important adaptations in her life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If she did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Have her pray and have faith in God to alleviate her sufferings. She should not wait for others to help, eventually. She should use her own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but if she perseveres she will win this battle. Above all she should be really happy; she needs to live in love and for love. Let her be positive always and learn to do everything possible to invest into herself. Life is extremely precious and because the depression, which is a mood disorder, makes her feel like giving up she must still persevere. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get her out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate her, all the hard word must come from her, and her cooperation with that person is very critical for her success. She can do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.

Eggs are one good choice to nurture while you are in the dieting plan. They don’t show any side effects to your heart where as cut your fat. Serving eggs in your breakfast won’t make you feel a snack for long hours, it fills the tummy full which eventually calls for less intake in the next snack.
