Am having pain pain all the day in my back I had tried so many things but no results.
Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back & neck pains. If you have localized neck and lower back pain with no other symptoms like radiating pain in limbs, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back & neck region while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and neck region and few blood tests for evaluation. It is apparent that your father is suffering from osteoarthrosis of knee as a result of which he is not able to bend his knees. Calf stretches standing calf stretch stand away from a wall and put your fight foot behind you and be sure your toes are facing forward. Lean forward at the ankle while bending the right knee and keeping your heel on the ground. Hold this for 30 to 60 seconds. Repeat 10 times a twice a day.

I am having lower back pain. I think its due to wrong gym posture and wallet, I have stopped the gym and do only the physio exercise suggested by docter. But not getting 1% benifit of that. My age is 25 only. And i want to do the gym. But cant do because of this back pain. Suggest me something.

Dear dipak,i can understand your problem. see this kind of lower back pain may have many causes. but presently you stop doing gym. in place you can do more aerobic or pranayama exercises. for better result i have to evaluate you thoroughly face to face personally, than only i can get the cause of pain. as you are very young so you should care your back now only, muscle can be made later age also. our concern is with good health and pain free movement. here i am giving some tips so that you can get temporary relief. 1 Lie down flat on floor without pillow. 2 Dont lift heavy weight for time being 3 Try to lie down on your belly for some time. 4 if possible do BHUJANGASANA its very effective but slowly 5 apply warm water or analgesic gel to painful part. Lastly if possible consult me as early as possible if you are in or nearby Rajkot. or keep in touch will advice as needed. DR HEMANG S JANI

If it is because of lying continuously, then these are bed sores. It's essential to keep wounds clean to prevent infection. If the affected skin is not broke, gently wash it with water and mild soap and pat dry. Apply antibiotic powder or cream. Avoid pressure on blisters. Have healthy diet. If it is open wound, take surgeons opinion. May require oral antibiotics. Hope this answer helped you.

I have a low back injury due to excessive & unscientific gymming. I cant stand static at any place for over 10 minutes as the back starts hurting and I have to start move around. The injury has been there for last 4 months. Please advice.

Hi, last 4 months itself you are in rest or still working you have to do exercises as well as do you have any radiating pain from lower back to gluteal and back of thigh. bone pain & weakness is surely due to your habit of masturbation. stop your habit .monthly twice will be fine . but its not reccomended. 1) start 2 spoon ghee in glass of milk daily 2) drink natural fruits juice & have more fruits in your diet . 3) Do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min., afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 4) Start natural calcium supplement. 5) Do regular stretching exercise meditation will help you

The conservative management would be to keep ice in that inflamed area. Apply ice for the pain to get subsided immediately. You can redo the bandage again so that the healing would be more quicker. You can add protein in the diet which will help you to have quicker healing.

I am 29 years old male. I am having knee pain and muscle pain in legs since 3 yrs. I showed one of an orthopedic doctor, he says its nothing but because of my flat feet, I am wearing insoles in shoes (6 months use) as suggested by him, but no improvement. I work in a office where I have to sit all day on a chair. On holidays my plain reduces, but again on weekdays it grows. Its not severe, I can run and walk much. But when I rest, it feels like pain a lot. I have thalassemia minor, no allergy, no operation and had minor knee injury during childhood days. Help me out.

Knee advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

I am ana positive. Fingers goes yellow then purple in winter. Swear pain in both under arms to shoulder. Burns and pain in nails.Please do help in this regard.

It is raynaud's phenomenon and it occurs when the extremities of the body, usually the fingers and toes, change colour and may become painful. It is due to a narrowing (constriction) of the small blood vessels on exposure to the cold, or to a change in temperature, or to emotional stress. In most cases, the cause is not known. In some cases, it is a symptom of an underlying condition such as scleroderma, lupus, or rheumatoid arthritis. The main treatment is to keep warm. Medicines to open up the blood vessels are used in some cases.

Dear lybrate user perhaps it's postural defect it must b corrected, first.*calcium deficiency. May b another reason. He, should go for aerobics indeed under d supervision of a physiotherapist. * avoid to bend down to lift heavy weight. * homoeo - medicine * @ rhus to 200-6 pills thrice a day. @ ruta g 200-6 pills, thrice a day. * avoid, lifting at, cold intake, wrong posture, sitting on computer late in d night plz, report wkly.

This could be due to lumbar spondylosis with nerve root compression. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take paracetamol 250mg od & sos you will need other supportive medicines also. Do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you may have to use lumbosacral support for some time. Avoid painful act/activities. Take medicines as prescribed it may have to be further investigated. Do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan.

Hi you can relieve short-term joint pain with a few simple techniques at home. 1) protect the joint with a brace or wrap. 2) rest the joint, avoiding any activities that cause you pain. 3) ice the joint for about 15 minutes, several times each day. 4) compress the joint using an elastic wrap. 5) elevate the joint above the level of your heart. 6) if you are overweight do exercise like swimming or cycling to reduce weight. Still you don't get relief consult me via lybrate as further investigation may be needed.
