Hodgkins lymphoma has good overall prognosis. Please do not miss out on post-op radiotherapy. We have patients who are absolutely normal after treatment with normal life styles and normal life span-all the best.

Acute bacterial prostatitis is often caused by common strains of bacteria. The infection can start when bacteria in urine leak into your prostate. Antibiotics are used to treat the infection.

Hi Sir, I would like to know is there risk of skin cancer due to NB UVP phototherapy for vitiligo? Is narrow banded UV safe?

General Physician, Alappuzha
Narrow-band ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy is a widely used treatment. Psoralen-UVA photochemotherapy (PUVA) increases skin cancer risk and some animal studies have raised the possibility of an increased risk with NB-UVB. The risk of skin cancer in humans following treatment with NB-UVB is unknown.

I am 25 year old and I want to know about skin cancer, my forehead skin getting black these days. What should I do? is it a symptoms of skin cancer? Please help me.

M.CH - Surgical Oncology, MBBS
Oncologist, Visakhapatnam
Hi, darkening of the skin on the forehead is not a symptom of skin cancer. It may be due to compression over the area due to your cap or helmet etc if you use them. Please consult a skin specialist if any of the above don't apply. You nay have to use some cream or ointment for a temporary period. Hope this helps. Take care.

Axitinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor used in advanced or metastatic kidney cancer. If the cancer has spread to the lungs, then the metastasis can cause erosion into blood vessels, which can lead to hemoptysis, which is bleeding in the cough. You better see your doctor for the same. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me for the same.

I have 1 lump in my right breast. Consuming sour fruits vegetables or drinking more lemon water will affect my breast lump?

Homeopath, Delhi
Breast lumps may arise due to various reasons and your physician may advice you to go for a few diagnostic investigations. The easiest, non invasive, most instant and non painful one of them is going for a USG BREAST. You may go for that. About consuming sour fruits, well, it should not have any bad effect on the lump. These fruits are rich in vitamin C which is good for your skin, gland and body in general. Vitamin C also helps the body in getting rid of various infections as well as may serve as a good natural painkiller in many cases. Take care, be well.

Normally if the growth is moving in all directions and not fixed anywhere it is not ba cancer. But I suggest you should once visit a gynaec so that you can live without tension.

What is the causes of blood cancer and its symptoms how we prevent from blood cancer. What type of medicine we should take?

General Physician, Faridabad
Genetic changes that cause cancer can be inherited from our parents. They can also arise during a person’s lifetime as a result of errors that occur as cells divide or because of damage to DNA caused by certain environmental exposures. Cancer-causing environmental exposures include substances, such as the chemicals in tobacco smoke, and radiation, such as ultraviolet rays from the sun. People who have blood cancer can have problems with bleeding and serious infections. Seek immediate for symptoms such as uncontrolled bleeding, severe sweating, difficulty breathing, pale or blue lips or fingernails, high fever (greater than 101 degrees Fahrenheit), fast heart rate, confusion, loss or change in level of consciousness, or anxiety. treatment depends on so many factors

My mother operated in 2010 for breast cancer in PGI chandigarh. Her right breast removed completely with limf nodes also. No chemotherapy starts after that but temoxifan 30 mg starts. Now in this month the cause complete. In this period regular mammography done, the reports shows nothing new. Now pl tell me if any further treatment requires for her good health.

M.Ch - Surgical Oncology, MS - General Surgery, MBBS
Oncologist, Delhi
In all probability she can note be considered cured of cancer, but as a precaution, just keep doing annual follow ups and annual mammography of the opposite breast as a safeguard.
