What should be the diet chat and advice for a 60 year old diabetic patient with 213 (fasting) ?
Avoid sugar, honey jaggery, deep fried items, maida products, sweets, desserts & confectionaries. Have lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, green leafy ones, sprouts, pulses. Do regular exercise.

1.Start exercising. If you’re a beginner, focus on bodyweight exercises like push up, pull up and squat. The basic push up and chin up are invaluable exercises you can do with very little equipment. Increase their difficulty by adding reps or affixing weights to your legs. 2.Consume a balanced diet. It's important to eat big meals to fuel muscle growth while you're training. You’ll need to eat healthy, whole foods that will nourish and restore your muscles. Consume all types of fruits, vegetables, grains, oils and dairy products. 3.Take adequate rest. Many people take this step lightly, but it's absolutely essential when it comes to gain strength. That means you won't be able to work out as hard or lift as much as you otherwise would, not to mention you'll be more prone to injury if you're feeling sleepy. Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night, possibly more depending on your individual needs, during heavy workout periods. 4.Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Chicken breast, egg whites, fish, pulses provide you all the protein you need without containing any unnecessary fat. 5.Focus on compound movements. Compound movements are those which engages more than one muscle group. Exercises like bench press, squat, dead lift are great examples of compound exercises to gain strength quickly. 6.Lift heavy. If your main aim is to gain strength, you’ll need to lift heavy weights in the gym and thus, lower the repetitions of your sets. Moderate-rep sets are important when training for muscle size. However, to build strength, you're going to have to train with heavier weights, meaning you'll do fewer reps.

Yes it brings period but next time it may be more problematic.. Better take Homoeopathic treatment if they are irregular..

According to data your bmi is 34.34kg/mt2 and you have hypertention so dietary restriction is not a suitable solution for you. You could plan for bariatric surgery after medical evaluation.

Hi, i'm 21 years old and my weight is 40 kgs i'm suffering from problem of white discharge from the age of 12 or 13. I visited several gyno in the city. They provide different types of medicines which cure me temporarily leaving vaginal area weaker nd weaker day by day due to hard medicines. I need a permanent solution for this.

Get yourself examined and tested to rule out hypothyroidism and pcos. Learn to relax consciously as stress also is a cause for delayed periods!

A person aged 53 years known diabetic type 2 walks regularly 40 min. and avoids sweets and limits carbo-in-take sleeps 7 hours can he take a drink during social occasion say once in a month and what drink and measure allowed during taking of sugar pills before food.

Mixing alcoholic drinks with water or calorie-free diet sodas instead of sugary (and calorie- and carbohydrate-laden) sodas and other mixers. Once you have had your drink, switch to a non-alcoholic drink, such as sparkling water, for the rest of the evening. Make sure you have an eating strategy and plan in place to avoid overeating and overdrinking in social situations. Alcohol can make you more relaxed, and may lead you to make poor food or drinking decisions. Don't drink on an empty stomach because alcohol can have a very rapid blood glucose lowering effect, which is slowed if there is food in your stomach. If you're going to have a drink, wear your diabetes identification bracelet or necklace.

My diabetic medicine Metformin 500 mg tid was recently changed to sitagliptin phosphate & Metformin HCL 50/500 mg (Janumet) tid. What does it mean? Is my diabetes advancing to next higher level? Should I be managing my diabetes more intensively. Was I managing my diet unsatisfactory that it resulted in change in medication.

It is very likely to progress in diabetes in many patients despite good dietary control. You should exercise and still strict on healthy diabetic diet. May be you'll improve over time. Sitagliptin is a good drug to add. Thank you.
