Chewing a sugarless gum after your meal for around 20 minutes freshens your breath and also make the leftover food particles cling to it.

I am 63 years old, suffering from pyorrhea on middle stage, advised to take teeth cleaned by dentist, should i?

MDS, BDS
Dentist, Delhi
You should most definitely get the cleaning done and also follow it up on a more regular basis in the future to ensure the problem doesn' t progress. All you need to ensure that the procedure is done with proper ultrasonic powered instruments and in the right manner.

everyone doesn't have pearl white teeth. your teeth color matches your skin colour. you can go for scaling and polishing followed by bleaching for more whiter teeth. stop using lemon juice on teeth. In long term, it will erode the enamel surface, making the tooth sensitive.

Hello sir before some days when I am doing brush at morning blood is come to my teeth what is the reason and also when ever time blood is come.

This is due to inflammation in gums. (either gingivitis or periodontitis). Need to rule out the causative factor. Commonly its due to deposition of food debris around gums.

I am 31 years old and my teeth very hard pain when I have cold drink & ice cream, what should I do.?

M.D.S.
Dentist, Mumbai
Hi if you get a sharp pain when you have cold drinks or ice, you would probably have hypersensitive teeth. I cannot give a definitive diagnosis without actually taking a look at your teeth, but I suggest you start using sensodyne medicated toothpaste. Brush with this and a soft toothpaste, and let the paste remain on the teeth for about a minute after brushing. Also, use lukewarm water for brushing and gargling. If this does not work you need to go to a dentist at once, as you may be having a cavity.

Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

You need complete scaling (professional cleaning) and polishing of your teeth. Get it done by a dentist. If there are caries (decay) in your teeth then those have to be filled by cosmetic fillings. Brush your teeth twice daily in vertical motion. Avoid doing it horizontally. Use a soft bristle toothbrush. Be gentle to your teeth while brushing.

I have lot of gaps between my tooths and also I have bad smell in my mouth how can I get relief from these problems.
it is little early to have gaps n teeth . maintain oral hygiene . The best way to get rid of bad breath & improve oral health is good oral hygiene like brushing your teeth twice a day with colgate fresh mint toothpaste regular rinse with Mouthwashes (listerine )after meals . this will help to avoid the bacteria in plaque, that accumulates in the mouth, you have to visit dental surgeon ,discuss problem with him and take treatment that is routine cleaning and polishing of teeth to remove most surface stains and oral cleanliness to make sure your teeth stay healthy.
