"Nightcaps (Drinking alcohol before bed) give you the worst sleep ever!

Any alcoholic beverage (generally brandy, wine, beer, bourbon etc) consumed before bedtime is known as a nightcap. You may have a nightcap thinking you’ll get better sleep, but did you know that it’s actually responsible for giving you a disrupted sleep pattern? Nightcaps may gradually start interfering with your sleeping quality, causing you to wake up sooner than you want.

How do nightcaps adversely affect your sleeping pattern?

Recently, a study conducted by the University of Melbourne revealed the fact that alcohol before bedtime can give you the worst sleep ever. In this study, several volunteering adults were neurologically monitored in a lab for a few days. Half of them were asked to have nightcaps, while the other half was instructed to drink non-alcoholic beverages. After completing their observation, the researchers reached the conclusion that though alcohol resulted in greater number of sleeping hours, it left the participants feeling dehydrated and less refreshed in the morning due to fragmented sleep. This is because the sleep induced by nightcaps is very shallow, and having nightcaps regularly can result in less restorative sleep.

The side-effects of nightcaps

Ruining your sleep is not the only ill effect nightcaps have on your health. Nightcaps give rise to other issues too, like snoring and night sweats. Moreover, consuming alcohol before falling asleep also weakens your immune system, damages your memory, speeds up the ageing process, results in nightmares, and causes headaches and insomnia. In fact, regular nightcaps are bad for your heart too.

4 ways how you can prevent alcohol from affecting your sleep pattern

Nonetheless, if you want to include a bit of alcohol to your dinner, it can be done in the correct way to ensure that it doesn’t affect the quality of your sleep. You can follow these simple rules to minimise the ill effects of nightcaps:

1. Stick to the three hour rule: Ensure that you drink alcohol at least 3 hours prior to sleeping.

2. Limit yourself to a fixed amount: Always consume alcoholic beverages in moderation and try to limit yourself to only one or two drinks every day.

3. Sleep early: Try to avoid staying awake longer than you usually do as this adds up to alcohol’s abilities of disturbing your sleep.

4. Increase your water intake: Prevent your body from getting dehydrated by the effect of alcohol by consuming at least one glass of water for each glass of alcohol. Additionally, don’t forget to sip a few glasses of water after waking up in the morning.

Sleep is important for your overall well being, so try not to compromise with it by consuming nightcaps regularly, especially after knowing about its devastating effects.

I am 30 year old and my weight is 95 kgs I have lot of pain in my heel and left leg. When awake in the morning, the pain is too much. Is it because of my weight or any other reason. Please suggest a medicine ?

There is evidence that certain dietary supplements and vitamins can help with certain types of pain. Fish oil is often used to reduce pain associated with swelling. Topical capsaicin, derived from chili peppers, may help with arthritis, diabetic nerve pain, and other conditions. There's evidence that glucosamine can help relieve moderate to severe pain from osteoarthritis in the knee. Do reply back for private consultation. And detailed treatment plan.

Hello there, 1) pcod is now called pcos. 2) pcod is caused by hormonal imbalance. 3) in pcod ovulation - rupture of follicles is restricted by hormone. 4) thus follicles are converted into ovarian cysts. 5) these cysts hijack hormones and stop menses. 6) this vicious cycle in pcod - pcos patient which leads to infertility. Scientific management of pcod - pcos by nap therapy & medicines:- 1) nap therapy medicines are non hormonal & non steroids thus very safe no side effects. 2) nap therapy medicines treatment course correct disease, root causes along its complications. 3) in 3-6 cycles most of the problem will be corrected. 4) natural ovulation will occur. 5) menses will be regular. 6) endometrium will become healthy. 7) all above factors helps to cure infertility. I strongly recommend nap therapy medicines treatment for infertility & pcod - pcos. Consult privately online-telephone-vedio or visit personally for proper management.

My penis is too short. I am feeling shy. What to do please give me right medicine to increase penis length & size.

My penis is too short. I am feeling shy. What to do please give me right medicine to increase penis length & size.
There is no point in worrying about the size of penis as it is not length or thickness of penis which decides if a male is fertile and does a better sex An average penis size of 8.8 cm (3.5 inches) when flaccid. An average penis size of 12.9 cm (5.1 inches) when erect. There are no average length figures for teenagers because people grow at different rates. Most men's penises are somewhere around 9cm (3.75in) long when not erect, but it's normal for them to be shorter or longer than this. Some things can make your penis temporarily smaller, such as swimming or being cold. Research has found the average erect penis size varies from around 13 cm to 18cm (5in to 7in). You cannot make your penis larger or smaller with exercises or medication. It may come as a surprise to some young men, but most women have very little interest in the size of their penis and that's been shown in numerous studies over time. The research shows that when it comes to sex, women are much more interested in whether you are romantic, tender and sensitive to their needs and desires than your penis size. Counselling has proven to be beneficial for men with penis anxiety. Therapy helps patients identify and correct any distorted views about their penis, build self-confidence and overcome fears about sexual relationships.

The testis produces semen and there has to be an outlet for the semen Just like your urine and graces, so if you are not mastrubating then the seme comes out during your sleep in the night or some passes away in the urine. There is nothing to worry at all it's-very natural phenomena. If you want to stop the night fall you can mastrubate before going to bed. Best wish to you.

Dear Lybrate User, Masturbation should not be done for more than twice in a week. Frankly speaking, there is no basic difference between masturbation and sexual intercourse. In both the cases orgasm occurs at the point of ejaculation of sperm due to continuous mechanical stimulation of the shaft of penis by rubbing. Now you may wonder why there is so much taboo about masturbation. Let’s take a inner view of the post-ejaculatory state of human body Just after ejaculation of sperm a sudden decrease in the amount of TESTOSTERONE hormone occurs. This TESTOSTERONE hormone plays an important role in metabolism & muscle growth. Daily Masturbation leads to a chronic decrease in the TESTOSTERONE production as a result of which the metabolism process of body becomes slow. This internal slow metabolism is externally manifested as muscle loss, weakness, fatigue etc. So, it is evident why masturbating too much is prohibited. It is often seen that if a person grows a habit of daily masturbation from young age his blood TESTOSTERONE level becomes quite low than other people. This TESTOSTERONE hormone plays an important role in the development of body as well as sperm production. In fact because of this TESTOSTERONE hormone the male sexual characters grow in a human body. Low TESTOSTERONE may also lead to complete absence of the morning erection which is often experienced on waking up from sleep in morning. Decrease in TESTOSTERONE in blood often results in decreased sperm production. So it is advisable not to masturbate for more than twice in a week. Since the male sexual system has developed for reproduction it is better to conserve your sexual power for intercourse & it would not be good if you lose your sexual power by excess masturbation.
