A week before, I was having red coloured sputum coming out while coughing and now I am having brown coloured phlegm coming out of my right nostril.

BHMS, MD - Alternate Medicine

Red Coloris fresh blood directly comes due to forcible expulsion of sputum from coughing, Brownish is due to mixed up with sputum which is infected, usually.

1. You have to do steam inhalation by a steam inhaler 2-3 times daily 2. Take viscodyne ls syrup 2 tsf thrice daily 3. You have to take antibiotic, use inhaler and do nebulisation along with it if required4. Consult physician for advice 5. Hi, for cold, fever and cough 1. Try to keep body warm 2. Do not eat and drink cold food items 3. Try to avoid persons affected with cold and cough because it spreads through droplet mode by coughing and sneezing 4. Take a tablet of levocetrizine and a basic antibiotic with an expectorant cough syrup and crocin for 4 days 5. Consult through video for details.

I am 26 year old male I suffered from breathing problems when season changes, at that time I take medicine and become OK and again it repeats when season changes again. Sir what should I do.

MBBS, MD -Pulmonary Medicine-Tuberculosis ,Respiratory Disease Medicine , Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases (DTCD), European Diploma in Respiratory Medicine
Pulmonologist, Delhi
This is bronchial asthma. It normally happens during change of season but in few patients it happens all through the year. The best medicine is inhalers which contain bronchodilator and steroids and antiallergic tablets. Avoid things which trigger your asthma.

I am 23 and I am having cough problem since 2 year. I think I got some allergy. I have done all tests and all went good, nothing bad comes out. But still my cough is persisting. When I take medicine it went away for sometime but after a month or so it started again and again. Currently I am taking allegra on a daily basis. Please suggest someting to me. Thanks.

DNB (Respiratory diseases), MBBS
Allergist/Immunologist, Nagpur
Seems to be allergic. 2 tests you would'nt have done are 1. Xray paranasal sinus 2. Spirometry. Have it done and upload the report. Probably you have nasal allergy with post nasal dripping of nose secretions over throat or asthma.
