I got TIA (stroke) two years ago. I am doing really good right now. But, I am deeply into the phobia, that stroke can return again. I am in fear always. How to overcome it. Please suggest measures.

Tia is a warning sign of stroke. So you have to worry but not that much. I understand about your phobia about getting again same problem but dear if you maintain yourself and take some precautions then chances are very less. Please make sure: 1. If you are overweight try to reduce. 2. Brisk walking daily for 30 minutes. 3. Cardiovascular exercises daily for endurance and strength and to make your heart fit. 4. Regular intake of excess water in your diet. 5. Avoid junk food, carbohydrates. 6. Take healthy diet that enrich you with proteins, vitamins. 7. If diabetic make sure sugar level should be maintained. 8. If hypertensive, make sure bp should not reach to too high or too low along with hr. 9. Avoid stressful life. 10. Meet some physio and learn daily exercises that will keep you fit and healthy along with some modification in your lifestyle. 11. Avoid fasting - eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at fixed timings. 12. Make yourself busy by fulfilling your hobby as it will give you freshness and your mind will be diverted from normal life. 13. Take min 7 hours of sleep. 14. Avoid taking caffeine, alcohol, phenylethylamine (found in chocolate and cheese), tyramine (found in nuts and fermented meats, cheeses, and soy), and aspartame (in many artificially sweetened foods) as sometimes these all exaggerate the condition. Instead use basil leaves tea or ginger tea boiled nicely in water without milk. Do not worry about getting tia / cva. If you keep yourself relax and avoid stress you will be healthy and then no disease no tia.

I had pain in my right side body. From head to toe. Sometimes in right back side of head got dumb. Mostly elbow of right hand had pain, its more on bending hand from elbow, this pain is very much. Sometimes right eye had also pain. Like got pressure in eye, in short full right body. Pain. I also tried some exercise but it increase the pain.(Full day using computer. I think its due to continue use of it) please give proper solution. Thanks.

I think you have an atypical headache syndrome which could be related to bad spine posture due to use of laptop/computer. You take time to relax after 30 mts of continuous use of computer. Neck relaxation exercises would help.

Hello, Few lifestyle changes can help you in controlling and preventing the high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Eat healthy foods. Consume more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. So, avoid eating processed foods, such as canned soups or frozen dinners which contains extra salt in it. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. Increase physical activity which can help lowering your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems. Get indulged in regular exercising (if your doctor allows you). Do regular exercise. Go for a brisk walk in the morning. Medication: Take Schwabe's Bacopa Monierri 1x/ thrice daily and Kali Phos./ once daily at night for 1month. For weight reduction: Go through the following guidelines and implement them in your routine: Management: 1: Drink plenty of water (at least 2-3 l/d) or other calorie-free beverages. 2: Be choosy about nighttime snacks. 3: Enjoy your favorite foods. 4: Have 6 meals per day - 3 main courses and 3 snack meals (snack meals should be healthy). 5: Do regular exercises daily (start with light and later may be little vigorous) . Exercise decreases the stress hormone in your body, burns calories and also increases the blood circulation. Preferably brisk walking, swimming, cycling, skipping. 6: Eat seasonal fruits. Fruit helps to satisfy your sweet tooth thanks to its natural sugars, while fresh vegetables help you fill up more quickly. Fruits and vegetables contain fiber to help you feel full quickly. 7: Eat more whole grains and cut simple carbs. Whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, sweet potato, and brown rice are all excellent sources of energy and sources of nutrition. 8: Choose lean proteins instead of fatty ones. 9: Cut the salt from your diet. Eating more sodium causes your body to retain water, which can cause you to feel bloated and gain more weight. 10: Don't skip meals.When you skip meals, your body stops breaking down fat and starts breaking down muscle tissue. Muscle tissue burns more calories at rest than other tissues, so you're actually working against your goals 11: Eat at home. Going out to eat makes it too easy to cheat. Food sold at restaurants is commonly much higher in fat, sodium, and other weight-loss killers. 12: Give yourself a treat now and then. If you're attending a party or going out for a special occasion, allow yourself an indulgence. Just make sure that these indulgences don't become daily habits. 13: Go for a health walk. Gear up yourself daily for a health walk which not only shed off your extra calorie, but also reduces the stress levels. 14: Take small frequent breaks for a quick walk in between as sitting for long hours together encourages the accumulation of fat in the body! Medication: Start taking Schwabe's Phytolacca Berry tablets/ thrice daily 1/2 an hr before the meals for 1 month. Thereafter revert me back for further guidance.

Hello sir/mam mere dost ka 1 din pehle accident hua hai uske dono pair mai fecture and ek haath mai fecture hai so usko aaj subha hosh aaya uske na toh sir par chot hai na face par helmet laga hua tha and wo kisi ko pehchan nhi raha thoda medicine ka nasha sa bhi hai use wo hospital mai admit hai apne papa ko uncle bol raha hai kya uski yaddast toh nhi gayi doctor acche se behaive kar raha dar kr bhi nhi bol raha normally bol raha mai uske saamne gaya mujhe bolta hai bhaiya aap kon maine kaha mai tera dost fir bolne laga mujhe paani de do peena hai uske bottle chad rahi hai and plaster ho raha hai toh kya problem hai use?

Hello, kindly follow health advices given below: measure your temperature and tell me reading 1. Avoid exertion 2. Take Tablet Paracetamol 500 mg after food as and when required for fever more than 99 F (maximum 3 tablets with gap of 8 hr can be taken in a day) for 3 days 3. Lot of fluids to be taken 4. Take proper diet homemade food like moong dal Dalia, chapatti etc. 4. Avoid wearing synthetic and tight cloths. Kindly go for CBC test and consult physician for further management and let me know what medicines you were taking and also tell me if you are having other symptoms like cough/ throat pain/ burning urine/ stomach pain so that we can confirm cause of fever

How much time it takes to treat Parkinson. My mom is suffering from it, her hands shakes a lil. She is under treatment by a neurosurgeon.

Sadly parkinson's disease can not be treated. The symptoms surely can be controlled. There is a vast difference between full treatment and getting rid of the disease, as compared to being functional and being able to take control of life. I suppose if you have just started medications, it may take some time to titrate the dosages, but surely the medicines help.

I am 24. And I am working. And am having severe insomnia from couple of months. First I thought its happening for a period but it kept continuing. I try sleeping every night and wake up at the same time between 3 to 4.and do not get sleep afterwards. I feel extremely tired in the morning due to lack of sleep and unable to work. But I have force myself, and because of this am losing my appetite, I am losing hair, and having constant headaches. Please help, am too busy rn to visit a doctor.

Migraine - Know Its Ayurvedic Remedies!

In modern days, migraine has become a common disease that affects the young and the old equally. Migraine as such cannot be cured, but improving lifestyle and Ayurvedic medication can help you keep this disease under control and improve your quality of life.

What is Migraine?

Migraine, commonly known as Sooryavarta in Ayurveda, is a medical condition in which the excessive stimulation of the blood vessels in the brain causes a throbbing pain on one side of the head and is associated with nausea, sensitivity and vomiting. This happens because the vomiting centre of the brain gets activated during an episode. These symptoms are the most common signs; however, it varies from person to person. 

What Causes Migraines?

These headaches worsen upon sunrise and it is at its peak at noon, when the sun is at its highest intensity and slowly subsides on sunset. This is one of the major factors in setting in an episode; it is not true in every case. 

The other triggers that cause migraine attacks according to Ayurveda are:

  1. Spicy and oily food
  2. Stress, anger, grief, jealousy
  3. Suppressed emotions or natural urges
  4. Indigestion
  5. Consumption of too much of dry, salty and pungent food
  6. Consuming polluted food

General triggers may include:

  1. Smoking and drinking
  2. Stress
  3. Fasting
  4. Physical stress and exercise
  5. Fluctuation in hormone levels during the menstrual cycle or the use of birth control pills
  6. Stopping intake of tea or coffee suddenly
  7. Stress to sensory organs in the form of bright noises, bright lights, strong perfumes or odours etc.

Certain foods or beverages may also trigger an episode of migraine. These include baked foods, chocolates, processed foods, spicy foods, onions, dairy products and peanuts. These kinds of foods are known to suddenly increase Kapha dosha or Pitta Dosha and as a result, trigger an attack.

Symptoms of Migraine

It is usually characterised by a stinging, throbbing pain on one side of the head and is followed by nausea and vomiting. Some people may get visual aberrations called an aura- such as blind spots, blurred visions, distorted lines etc.

Ayurvedic medications that can help migraine are:

  1. Indian licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra
  2. Sariva – Hemidesmus indicus
  3. Hareetaki – Chebulic myrobalan-Terminalia chebula
  4. Amalaki – amala – Emblica officinalis
  5. Mallika – Jasminum officinale
  6. Hareetaki – Chebulic myrobalan-Terminalia chebula
  7. Bala – Sida cordifolia
  8. Kumari – Aloe vera
  9. Sariva – Hemidesmus indicus

Simple home remedies useful in migraine:

  1. Tender leaves of jasmine or tender leaves of pomegranate are taken along with a pinch of salt and crushed well to obtain fresh juice. Early in the morning, preferably in empty stomach, 2-3 drops of this fresh juice is instilled to both the nostrils. Procedure is repeated once again evening hours (6-7 pm). This reduces the severity of headache in migraine.
  2. One fist full of Doorva grass (cynodan dactylon) is taken and its fresh juice is obtained. To this, 2 pinch of licorice powder is added and mixed well. This is consumed during the noon hours. Procedure is repeated for 20-30 days. This helps to reduce the severity of illness significantly.
  3. Take coriander seed powder – 1 teaspoon. add it to one cup of water, leave it as it is at night, next day morning, drink it on empty stomach.
  4. Soak 5 raisins and 5 almonds in water at night, next day morning, eat them. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an ayurveda.
