Hello lybrate-user, I can understand your concern. The problem with most of commercial hair colours is that they require hydrogen peroxide which is a bleach and it renders your normal hair grey and thus you need to keep on applying hair colour to cover extra grey-hair and it becomes a vicious cycle. I would suggest you to go for natural hair colour like ALTRIS HD (By Alembic pharma) as it doesn't have any harmful chemicals like ammonia, ppd and hydrogen peroxide. Hope your query is resolved. In case you need any further information please feel free to contact me. Take care

Skin lightening creams don't make you fairer. They just help to restore your original complexion which is faded with time and pollution. You can use it but don't expect much.

Pimples is one of the most common dermatologic conditions, affecting millions of individuals in the United States. It's characterized by whiteheads, blackheads and blemishes. Hormonal changes during the teenage years, as well as during pregnancy, may be contributing factors. In general, there are two types of pimples: • Noninflammatory acne, characterized by the presence of whiteheads and blackheads. • Inflammatory pimples , characterized by the presence of pimples, which may rupture to form inflammatory lesions that are raised, reddened areas on the skin called "papules. Alopecia Areata - Reasons Why People Suffer from it

MBBS, MD - Dermatology, Diploma in Aesthetic Mesotherapy
Dermatologist, Gurgaon
Alopecia Areata - Reasons Why People Suffer from it

Alopecia areata is a kind of hair loss or male pattern baldness that happens when your immune system starts attacking the hair follicles, which is where the hair growth starts. This is therefore an autoimmune disease. The damage and harm caused to the follicle is usually not permanent. Specialists are still not aware as to why the immune system attacks the follicles.

Alopecia areata generally begins when chunks of hair start falling out, forming thoroughly smooth, round bare patches on the scalp or different regions of the body. Now and again the hair might become thinner without any noticeable bald spots, or it might develop and shed off, leaving small patches. This can lead to permanent balding and may also be a sudden evolution.

The condition takes place when the cells in the hair follicles are attacked by white blood cells, making them contract and drastically slows down the hair growth. It is unknown as to precisely what causes the immune system to attack the hair follicles in such a manner.

However, there are a few ways due to which people can get alopecia areata. They are as follows:

  1. Since the exact cause of the condition is unknown, it regularly happens in individuals who have a family history of other immune system diseases, for example, type 1 diabetes or rheumatoid joint pain.

  2. A few researchers presume that hereditary qualities may add to the advancement of alopecia areata. They additionally believe that specific factors are expected to trigger alopecia areata in individuals who are hereditarily inclined to the disease.

  3. Around 10% of individuals with this condition may never regrow hair. You will probably have irreversible and permanent balding if you have the following:

    • A family history of the condition.

    • The condition appears at a young age (before adolescence) or for longer than a year.

    • Suffering from any other immune system infection

    • Inclined to hypersensitivities (atopy)

    • Have extensive hair loss.

    • Have unusual colour, shape, surface, or thickness of the fingernails or toenails.

In a few people with alopecia areata, the fingernails and toenails start becoming hollowed, that is they look as though a stick had made numerous small dents in them. They may likewise look like sandpaper. People with this condition might suffer from psychological and morale issues as well. Hence, getting tensed about it can aggravate the problem further, causing more hair loss.

Alopecia areata cannot be cured yet. The vast majorities of people who have had one episode might have more episodes of balding. Hence, whenever you feel like you might be showing certain symptoms of hair loss, do get it diagnosed by a specialist, since hair loss is not something that should be ignored, as it may be a symptom of greater lifestyle diseases. If symptoms recur after treatment, go for regular check-ups. If you wish to discuss any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist.

Hello. You can use home methods:- 1. Use lemon and rose water mixture. Take them in equal quantity and apply on skin with help of cotton. After 15 mins wash with plain water. Apply this mixture only on spots. When you use this method always apply sunscreen daily. 2. Use curd and termeric paste. Take required amount of curd and add a pinch of haldi. Mix it and apply on skin. When it dries up wash with plain water. 3. Tomatoa juice is also good for lightening skin colour. 4. Apply coconut oil twice a day. Good luck in life.

Which cream should I apply on my skin to get a fair and bright skin am male and my age is 17 years.

MBBS,, PG Diploma In Clinical Cosmetology (PGDCC), Diploma in Trichology - Cosmetology
Dermatologist, Patna
Which cream should I apply on my skin to get a fair and bright skin am male and my age is 17 years.
To get that clear, flawless and glowing skin, swear by Cleansing, Toning and Moisturising daily. Always apply sunscreen half an hour before going out in the sun. Reapply sunscreen every 3-4 hours till evening. Keep your skin covered with hat and a scarf in pollution and dust. If you think that applying great products alone will give you glowing skin, then you are wrong. You are what you eat. Nutrition plays an important role to keep you glowing inside out. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains. Try to limit intake of junk, smoke and alcohol as this harms your skin the most. One key point I would emphasise here is to exfoliate your skin regularly. Regular exfoliation can be done both by using natural products like gram flour and yogurt or over the counter and safe to use products containing AHAs, BHAs or Glycolic Acid. Before buying these chemical containing cleansers, always go under a patch test by Dermatologist so as to test any possible irritation by them. Using sunscreen after exfoliation is must, so never skip the sunscreen. Exfoliation along with daily moisturisation works wonders on your skin. Pamper your skin once in a week with a good face mask, massage and relaxing bath. If your skin remains dull even after following all the above advices, then do not hesitate to book an appointment with your nearest dermatologist. An expert advise is always recommended to test the underlying causes of skin dullness and help it improve faster.

I am having pimples on my faces which comes to frequently even after using lots of medicine and facewash.

BHMS
Homeopath,
I am having pimples on my faces which comes to frequently even after using lots of medicine and facewash.
Dear lybrate user, pimples are common in your age. Pimples or acne is a type of inflammatory skin disease. The formation of acne is triggered by androgen hormone. But some external factors are also responsible to some extent. So it would not be possible to completely cure your acne. You have to experience it up to the age of 25 years. I would advise you not to prick the pimples or pop the white sebum. Doing such will result in collagen formation in the adjoining cells of the pimples which often results in black spot & scarring. You must wait till the pimples get resolved naturally & the internal white sebum will burst out in time.
