Anti Cavity Therapy

People who are at high risk of tooth decay due to high sugar and starch diets; receding gums, poor oral hygiene, orthodontic treatment etc. Can use sodium fluoride anti cavity toothpaste under the dentist's guidance.

These products like tooth mousse or cream is a break through in anti cavity therapy, which helps strengthen teeth to protect them from decay and also contains mild abrasive that removes stains.

Flossing is as important as brushing on a daily basis. Taking the floss all the way down to the point where the teeth and gums meet is the appropriate way of doing it.

Hi, I am under orthodontic treatment. I think due to that I am getting frequent bleeding. I am not knowing exact location of the bleeding but morning when I get up, getting blood from mouth. I also doubt whether it is due to this orthodontics treatment or some other. Please give some solution. I am afraid that I will get blood loss-anemia. as I am already anemic.

BDS
Dentist, Delhi
The bleeding gums are due to accumulation of food debris, which is a result of inadequate maintenance of oral hygiene. I suggest that you get thorough professional cleaning/scaling done from a dentist, and use antibacterial mouthwashes thereafter. Following all these measures will solve your problem. Hope that helps.

Hello doctor, I am 18 years old girl and I have black teeth and cavity from 5 month what I can do?

BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
Kindly get an xray done to check the depth of cavity. You can get it filled. If the cavity is not deep or if its deep then a root canal treatment.

Brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra soft bristles, indicator brush. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning or surgical procedures. You may consult me in person too.

Removing tooth is not a solution for it. There must be decay or cavity in your teeth. The best treatment in such case is to take x-ray of that tooth and decide the treatment according to the extent of carious lesion.

I am 21. I have a salivation problem at night when I am sleeping. Because of this my pillow usually gets wet. It is excess production of saliva in my mouth. Please suggest something because I am facing this problem for a long time.

Dentist, Jammu
1 sleep on your back. Side-sleepers are more prone to drooling during the night simply because gravity is causing the mouth to open and allowing drool to pool on your pillow. Try sleeping on your back and tucking yourself in so that you do not shift around during the night. 2 prop your head up. If you can't sleep without laying on your side, trying propping yourself in a more vertical position to encourage your mouth to close and create a better air flow. 3 breathe through your nose, not your mouth. The main reason that people drool is that their nasal sinuses are clogged. As a result, they end up breathing through their mouth and drooling in the process. Try applying sinus-clearing products like vick's vaporub and tiger balm directly under your nose to loosen clogged nostrils. Step 3 smell essential oils such as eucalyptus and rose before going to bed to clear sinuses and soothe yourself to sleep. Take a hot, steamy shower before bed to allow the pure vapors to cleanse your sinuses 4 treat sinus infections and allergies as soon as they surface. Untreated conditions can cause postnasal drip and excess saliva while you sleep. 5 find out if any of your current medications cause excess saliva production. Excess saliva can be a symptom of many different medications. Read the warning label and ask your doctor about potential side effects of your medications.
