How can I handle a panic attack when it happens to me? For example how should I breath? When I have one I can't control my breath and I feel like I'm gonna pass out.

These are signs of hysteria and breathing is really important to calming yourself down. This is a fear-based behavior and can be very difficult to treat because you have found an unhealthy adaptation to a normal fear which you feel is impossible to resolve. Apart from regular and aerobic exercising, you must also visit a gym to build a good body image. You can go for personal grooming classes too. While regular vigorous exercise develops your body, the regimen will also enlarge your heart and help you handle stressful situations much more competently than others who don’t exercise. Dress well, eat well, sleep well and conduct yourself well in social circles to build confidence. Perform well in your studies and work, and feel good about your achievements. You could also go for hypnosis sessions to build your self-image from within. Now, remember that all your problems are in your mind: spiritual wellness, faith and prayer will boost your confidence really well. Emotional wellness will take care of the fear factor. There are lots of affirmations, if said three times at a time, everyday, they will gradually strengthen your concept of yourself. Yoga and meditation will also build you up. Speaking to a counselor will give you personal assistance in pursuing these goals.

Dear Lybrate-user, Inhalers are one way of controlling asthma. They are safe and free of side effecta. But they have to be used regularly and long term to achieve asthma control. If you really do not want inhalers, then immunotherapy is the treatment. It aims at altering your immunity so as to get rid of allergy as a root cause of your problem. If you have more queries please contact.

Hi since you have nasal discharge it falls at your back of the nose into throat and lower down over voice box inturn causes cough we call it post nasal drip due to sinus issues. Kindly start doing steam inhalation will help. For cough take warm water with honey. Avoid curds and milk during nights. For nasal blockade can use nasal decongestant drops will help in breathing better. Do get a x-ray of nose and sinuses and a nasal endoscopy done this will give better picture. After the reports can suggest medicines.

If you are asymptomatic. No need of further evaluation. Just follow. But if you have any gastro intestinal symptoms consult gastro- enetrologist. Actually it's difficult to evaluate small size sub centermeter lymph node. Sometime they having no significant. So need to clinicaly correlation.

Hi, bronchitis/ asthma can be treated well with homoeopathic medicines completely, only need to be regular with the medication and avoid those foods/ things to which you are allergic to for sometime. Keep taking your already on going medication, reduce it gradually and slowly once homoeopathic starts acting. Take bakson's astha-aid drops/ 10-15 drops in 1/2 cup water/ thrice d day for 1 month. Report me back after a month.

My daughter is 8 years old. She has suffering cough problem and disturb to take air in morning 3 am. Dust, hot temp, cold, is problem. A minor sound is release from chest when she take air. More cough is deposited inside the chest. Not disease food properly. Discontinue stool.

MD - Paediatrics, MBBS
Pediatrician, Ghaziabad
As per your description, she probably has bronchila asthma. Try to avoid exposure to dust/smoke etc. Do not use deo, perfume or anti mosquito spray or coil in the bedroom. Give her steam whenever she has cough. Ensure that you give her influenza vaccine, this is very beneficial in such cases. She also might require long term inhalers, for which you have to consult your paediatrician.

I have headaches almost every evening for last 30 years owing to sinus problems. I take a sinarest tablet for temporary relief. Hiw to get rid of it?

MS - ENT, DNB (ENT)
ENT Specialist, Delhi
You will need a thorough evaluation, including maybe a ct scan of the sinuses. A long standing headache of this kind is unlikely to be because of a sinus problem. Sinarest or any medicine for that matter is not safe over prolonged periods. It contains a decongestant which can elevate your blood pressure which by itself can cause a headache. Please consult an ent specialist and stop self medication immediately. Regards
