I had my meniscus repaired on 28th of july. It was a bucket handle tear. My doctor asked me to take rest for 5-6 months. So now I started mild jogging, but for the past 9 days I feel a little pain in the knee. Is it normal or should I stop jogging?

Hi there are multiple causes for shoulder and knee pain like. Muscular, tendonitis, ligament tear etc. It will be good if you visit physiotherapist or orthopaedic doctor for diagnosis. I got knee pain in the middle of the knees and are paining while I am climbing steps. The problem occurred while I am starting the bike and also did some difficult yoga posture which gives pressure on knees also. First it came to right knee, I stopped yoga and starting bike with right leg, it got cured. I started using left leg to start bike, the pain came to left too. What is the solution for it, in order to not come again and how to make my bones strong.

for strong bones, drink milk at least two times in a day, avoid climbing steps for a few days, get your vitamin D3 checked, eat light food, sit in the sun for half hour. try this for a week. after that if no relief then consult a doctor

I have some pain in the knee joint on the back side (above calf muscle). I walk 5 km and take 5 stairs of steps. Is it because of taking stairs. Should I stop taking stairs and confine to walking only. Am 67 years old male.

Hi, Walking on a levelled surface for 5 kms is fine. But climbing the stairs up and down is very strenuous to the joints and the muscles as they are over worked. Joints get worn out at an early date due to excessive usage. Therefore, stop climbing up and down the stairs and confine to walking only, especially at this age.

I have back pain for the last six months now it's get severe with leg and flank pain, a fraction of seconds I am feeling like unconscious please provide the remedy.

pls get a sonography done for abdomen to rule out any abnormalities regarding stone or any other things - as u have mentioned the pain in flanks and due to the severity u feel unconscious. meanwhile - if sonography comes normal and the pain is due to musculo-skeletal problems then go for Ayurveda's Panchkarma Therapy - We have many option for u - Kati Basti (Specialised Panchakarma procedure for Backpains), Localised Massgae with Herbal oils, Localised Medicated Steam, Pottali Massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax ur back muscles and give strength to ur nerves and muscles of back. also start some Yogic exercises - Tadasana, Dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. Hi. I have been suffering from leg pain and weird feeling in my right leg and now back back for 6 months now and I can not stand on my right leg for more than 5 min. My all blood tests came negative and got my L/S Spine result yesterday only which suggested diffuse disc bulge causing thecal sac compression and bilateral forminal nerve root compression seen at L4-L5 level.

Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

It requires detailed investigation and examination. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Hi lybrate-user you really need to reducer your weight. East healthy foods don't be in diet. Do excercises regularly. Do surya namaskar 5 times daily morning. Avoid taking excess salt and rice and tamarind. Do a good breathing exercises. Be active and confident in reducing your weight.

Pain and numbness in both leg soles. Due to numbness itching and pain I unable to walk on road. Every time pain and feeling tense in both legs.

Pain and numbness in sole of both legs can be due to: 1.Diabetic neuropathy 2. Vitamin B12 deficiency 3.Sensory neuropathies. You need to go for tests like MRI scan of lumbosacral spine, Sugar levels and Vitamin B12 levels and consult a pain specialist or neurologist. Treatment will depend on underlying cause. Such conditions should not be ignored as gradual damage to nerves can be debilitating in future.

Kindly show me x rays of your shoulder. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Do hot fomentation any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Do neck & shoulder exercises it may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I have been facing lower back pain, it came by lifting the weight. But then after some time I had stopped doing that kind of work, I had shown to one Dr. he gave me some medicine and told me to follow some exercise. Dear low back pain k liyyy you can do it perfectly….1, Lying on your stomach, prop yourself up on your forearms. Align your elbows directly under your shoulders. Press firmly through your palms and the tops of your feet. Press your pubic bone forward. You will feel sensations in your lower back, but breathe through it. You are allowing blood flow int From all-fours, bring your right knee behind your right wrist with your lower leg at a diagonal toward your left hip. Square off your hips toward the ground. Bend forward. Widen the elbows and place one hand on top of the other as a pillow for your forehead. Hold 2-3 minutes and then switch to the left side for 2-3 minutes. O the lower back for healing. Hold for 1-3 minutes. 2….Lying on your back, bend both knees with the feet flat on the ground. Bend the right knee like a figure four, with the outer left ankle to the right thigh. Lift the left foot into the air, bringing the left calf parallel to the ground. Thread your right hand between the opening of the legs and interlace your hands behind your left thigh. Hold 2-3 minutes and then repeat on the other side 3…Scoot your buttocks all the way into the wall and swing your feet up the wall. This pose is excellent for relaxing the muscles of the lower back and drains stagnant fluid from the feet and ankles. Do this pose after a challenging workout and always after traveling by plane. Hold for 5-10 minutes. I hope you will fittttt ands fine…………….Thnx.

I have back pain due to disk issue. I had one epidural in 2007. But pain started since 2013. Cervical pain is also started. It restrict my moment and activities. Can you suggest Medicine. You had relief with one epidural injection for long time. You should again go for another epidural injection, it will benefit you in following ways: 1. Give you good pain relief without side effect of painkillers. In a year, maximum 3 epidural injections can be taken. 2. With good pain relief you can easily carry out physiotherapy and exercises for rehabilitation. 3. Inflammation associated with disc bulge will decrease and you will avoid surgery.
