Normal sperm densities range from 15 million to greater than 200 million sperm per milliliter of semen. You are considered to have a low sperm count if you have fewer than 15 million sperm per milliliter or less than 39 million sperm total per ejaculate.

What to Do When Nothing Relieves a Sore Penis?

MD - General Medicine
Sexologist, Delhi
What to Do When Nothing Relieves a Sore Penis?

Most men - if not all men - will experience a sore penis at some point in their lifetime. There are so many causes for a sore penis that it's impossible to list them all, but some of the most common issues include overuse, too much friction, chafing from exercise and skin allergies. In most cases, a few days of good penis care takes care of the problem and a guy feels just fine. But for some men, all their good penis care measures seem to be for naught. That's because they suffer from male dysesthesia, a painful condition that leads to a perpetually sore penis.

What is male dysesthesia?

As with so many other words that are tough to pronounce, this one comes from a combination of terms. In Greek, "dys" means "abnormal" and "aesthesis" means "sensation." So, technically, male dysesthesia is an abnormal sensation in the penis and surrounding area. This abnormal sensation usually presents as pain or soreness.

A man who suffers from this might feel a variety of painful issues, including the aforementioned soreness, tingling, burning, hypersensitivity or other discomforts. The problem can be much worse when a man does simple everyday things, like wearing underwear, moving in a certain way or allowing his penis to brush up against something. Simply sitting down can be painful for some men; for those with severe pain, normal intimate relations are out of the question.

What causes it?

Unfortunately, there is no clear reason why this happens to some men. There has been some connection found between this type of penis pain and a skin condition known as acne rosacea, which can cause red flushing of the skin of the face. Other causes might include overactive nerves in the penis, long-term use of steroid creams, nerve disorders, and some medical conditions that can lead to nerve damage in the penis, such as diabetes or multiple sclerosis.

There are a few things that men seem to have in common as they develop this problem: They tend to be in their 60s or older, Caucasian, and might have other troubles with their skin, such as broken blood vessels or areas of tenderness. However, increasingly more men of other races and younger ages have been developing the condition.

What can a man do about the penis pain?

There are several ways a man can fight against the penis pain that comes from male dysesthesia. The first line of defense usually includes prescription medications, including antibiotics and some medications that treat neuropathic issues. Men are also asked to eliminate things that might make the pain worse; for instance, to change detergents and cleansers to those with more natural ingredients, avoid wearing clothing when possible at home, and practicing top-notch hygiene and penis care.

Men can also try treatments that ease the penis soreness and pain, such as using cool compresses to ease the burning sensation, standing under running water, and using a good moisturizer to keep the skin as smooth and supple as it can be.

Many men find that using a good penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) can alleviate some of the discomfort. Though a penis health crème can't cure the sore penis caused by male dysesthesia, it can definitely help in terms of keeping skin smooth and providing the best nutrients for better health. These include Shea butter and vitamin E for hydration, alpha lipoic acid to fight free radicals, vitamin C and D for overall penis health and L-carnitine, which is known for easing peripheral nerve damage. All these ingredients and others, wrapped up in a soothing topical crème, can help ensure a man's penis stays as healthy as possible.

This is common. If you have good nutrition, satvic food, read good literature or explore good social media, you have minimum chances of pe at young age. To get results to ensure full strength and fast response, herbal'stambhan' group if medicines are used for some time which locks the leakage of involuntary ejaculation early.

MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Dear sir, what you are experiencing is probably just some rashes due to sweating and friction in summers. If you have never had a history of such rashes before, it probably is not herpes. However get yourself checked by a dermatologist to be sure. Till then you may keep the area dry with any antifungal powder and expose it to air as much as you can.

Heart Disease Myths

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Heart Disease Myths
=================
Myth No. 1: It is ok to have a high blood pressure in elderly.

Blood pressure tends to rise with age, but it does not mean that this rise is normal. It happens because with age, the arterial walls become stiff and this stiffness cannot be called as a normal stiffness. Stiff arteries make the heart to pump harder. Blood pounding against the artery walls, damages them over time. The overworked heart muscles become less effective and pumps even harder to meet the body demand for blood. This further damages the arteries and invites fats into the artery walls. This results in lipid deposition, formation of blockage and future heart attack and paralysis.

So the fact is, irrespective of age, keep your diastolic blood pressure below 80 and systolic below 120. Start treatment if the blood pressure is more than 140/90.

Myth No. 2: The risk of heart disease can be lowered with vitamins and supplements.

It’s a myth that vitamin C, E and β carotenes lower heart attack risk. The American Heart Association has stated that there is no scientific evidence that these supplements prevent or treat heart diseases. The fact is eat a wide variety of nutritious food which includes all 6 tastes and 7 colors and get natural vitamins and supplements.

Myth No. 3: Women do not suffer from heart disease.

The fact is whether you are a man or a woman, you are at risk, if you do not follow the lifestyle. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in women over age 65. Today more woman get heart disease than combine cancer in them.

Myth No. 4: Heart patients should not eat fat at all.

It is true that you should eat a diet low in saturated fat and zero in trans fats but other fats like unsaturated fats in vegetable oil are beneficial. In fact eating fish high in omega-3 fatty acids twice a week can lower the risk of heart disease.

Health tip of the day.

She had piles operation around an year ago but again she is having problem you can spot 3-4 things outside the anus. No bleeding. Someone told that piles can be operated through some injection. Is that true. Should I go for it.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
It can be simple polyps . For piles injections are there. Piles are haemorrhoids that become inflamed. Haemorrhoids are masses, clumps, cushions of tissue in the anal canal - they are full of blood vessels, support tissue, muscle and elastic fibers. Piles can be of various sizes and may be internal (inside the anus) or external ones (outside the anus). Typically, internal piles occur from 2 to 4cm above the opening of the anus. External piles (perianal hematoma) occur on the outside edge of the anus. The internal ones are much more common. Symptomatic haemorrhoids affect at least half the population at some time in their lives before the age of 50. In the majority of cases, piles are effectively treated with over-the-counter medications, a good fluid intake, and by following a diet high in fibre. In severe cases, the piles may have to be surgically removed. About 10% of patients who go and see their doctor about piles eventually require surgical intervention. Internal haemorrhoids are classified into four grades.  Grade 1 - there are small inflammations, usually inside the lining of the anus. They are not visible  Grade 2 - larger than grade 1 haemorrhoids, but also inside the anus. When passing a stool, they may get pushed out, but return unaided  Grade 3 - often called 'prolapsed haemorrhoids'; these appear outside the anus. The patient may feel them hanging out. They can be pushed back in if the patient presses with their finger  Grade 4 - these cannot be pushed back in and need to be treated by a doctor. They are large and stay outside the anus all the time. External haemorrhoids are called perianal hematoma. These are small lumps that are located on the outside edge of the anus. They are very itchy and can be painful if a blood clot forms inside (thrombosed external haemorrhoid). Thrombosed external haemorrhoid requires medical treatment straight away PILES OCCUR when the blood vessels around the anus and in the rectum will stretch under pressure and may swell or bulge. Inflamed veins (haemorrhoids) can develop when pressure increases in the lower rectum. This may be due to:  Chronic constipation9  Chronic diarrhea10  Lifting heavy weights11  Pregnancy12  Straining when passing a stool.13 The tendency to develop haemorrhoids may also be inherited. The risk of developing piles grows with age Treatments for piles In the majority of cases, piles resolve on their own without the need for any treatment. Treatments can help significantly reduce the discomfort and itching that many patients experience. Diet - piles can be caused by too much straining when doing bowel movements, which is the result of constipation. A change in diet can help keep the stools regular and soft. This involves eating more fiber, such as fruit and vegetables, or switching your cereal breakfast to bran. Water is the best drink, and the patient may be advised to increase his/her water consumption. Some experts say too much caffeine is not good. Simple things you can do yourself to help prevent piles:10  Try not to strain when you go to the toilet  Avoid laxatives  Exercise. Ointments, creams, pads and other OTC medications - there are some over-the-counter (OTC) medications which help soothe the redness and swelling around the anus area. Some of them contain witch hazel, hydrocortisone, or some other active ingredient which can relieve symptoms of itching and pain Surgery - used for particularly large piles, or grades 3 or 4 haemorrhoids. Generally, surgery is used if other procedures were not effective. Sometimes surgery is done on an outpatient basis - the patient goes home after the procedure.
