There is no permanent cure. Some precautions taken can prevent major problem due to stones, early treatment. Having plenty of water on regular basis will prevent stone getting larger in sixe as they are flushed out early. Still stones may form in those parts of kidney where natural drainage is poor. For this there are some excercises which involve head down erect posture allowing drainage of such parts. Eswl is safe but like every procedure it also has some risks but less then other major procedures.

But please get your diagnosis confirmed first.

My husband is having mild pelvic pain and more while urination. He had kidney stone, so was operated by surgery called ESWL. Since then he is having this mild pain. When consulted to doctor, they says after all check ups that it's normal. But there should be some reason.

Few days after surgery/ shock wave therapy the burning micturition may be common due to passing of calculii. Hydrotherapy with consuming 4 litres of water daily may be helpful. Diet regulations to avoid recurrence of stones are very important.

Hi my father is 69 years old. One week ago he had acute cholecystitis and he had removed it through laparoscopic surgery. Suddenly he began to have short term hiccups and it turn to long term ones. We have taken him to hospital and gave him medication today but there is no sign of improvement. What should we do, is there any case of complications?

Hi. What does your recent usg reports suggest. Hiccups may due to pressure on diaphragm. May be due to subhepatic collection. So kindly share usg reports.

Very surprising that proper medical consultation has not helped her. She requires detail examination by Consultant Physician and a Gynecologist and thoroughly investigated by Physical Examination, Urine examination, Urine culture, Haemogram, Renal Profile Tests and Ultrasound etc. Try again to consult both Physician and a Gynecologist. Followup with them till cured

Firstly you should be examined by general Surgeon. Frequently and-rectal condition are misdiagnosed. Treatment for anal fissure include sitz bath with Betadine at least three times a day, apply a local ointment for relaxation of sphincter e.g. Diltiazem. Use a stool softeners.**For complete evaluation and treatment, Kindly visit the doctor in person with all available reports. *This is just an preliminary opinion not to be used for medico-legal purpose.

Once I had got anal fissure due to severe hard stool. I contact a colorectal surgeon who told that as you had got fissure one-time so it can easily reoccur after another little hard stool and he also told that if LIS surgery done then anal fissure will not come again if stool becomes hard. Is it true? Or he told this only for money? I want second opinion. Pls help in details.

MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Kanpur
LIS surgery help in healing fissure, but I advise you to keep your stool soft by taking plenty of fluids orally and high fibre diet, fissure usually dont reccur after surgery, but sometimes it may.
