Hello, Red colour urine may be commonly caused by 1.Blood. include urinary tract infections, enlarged prostate kidney or bladder stones. 2.Foods. Beets, blackberries can turn urine red or pink. Medications. Rifampin an antibiotic often used to treat tuberculosis, can turn urine reddish orange Tumors of the bladder and kidney, which can cause blood in the urine, are more common in older people. Frequent urination at night doesnt mean your kidney is harmed. Frequent urine at night can be due to uncontrolled diabetes or can sinply be cause you are drinking more water in evening. Reduce water inatke after 7pm. Avoid colas or tea or coffee in evening. Check your diabetes

Hi, the best treatment for a 22 mm stone is complete removal through a keyhole. This surgery is called mini- pcnl (percutaneous nephrolithotomy). Laparoscopy is not preferred for kidney stones, except in rare situations. Currently ct urography is the preferred imaging test before stone removal. Ivp is an older and limited imaging option. It is to be done only in places where ct is not available.

Dear lybrate user there are many reasons to change in the urine color, its quite fairy in the months of summer due to dehydration of body. Some vitamins like b complex and riboflavin supplements leads to yellow color urine and even food additives and dyes also bring change in the urine color. In order to control this take plenty of water to rehydrate your body and fresh fruit juices, ginger juice with lemon, tender coconut water, lime juice will help you.

To identify a uti, keep an eye out for the following symptoms: a burning feeling when you urinate a frequent or intense urge to urinate, even though little comes out when you do pain or pressure in your back or lower abdomen cloudy, dark, bloody, or strange-smelling urine feeling tired or shaky fever or chills (a sign the infection may have reached your kidneys) causes utis in women utis are a key reason we're often told to wipe from front to back after using the bathroom. That's because the urethra -- the tube that transports urine from the bladder to the outside of the body -- is located close to the anus. Bacteria from the large intestine, such as e. Coli, are in the perfect position to escape the anus and invade the urethra. From there, they can travel up to the bladder, and if the infection isn't treated, continue on to infect the kidneys. Women may be especially prone to utis because they have shorter urethras, which allow bacteria quick access to the bladder. Having sex can introduce bacteria into the urinary tract, too.

I have gone through left kidney surgery but after 6 month of surgery my right kidney pain sometime, What can i do?

DNB (Radiodiagnosis), DMRD, MBBS
Radiologist, Bangalore
Hi, thanks for writing in to us. It is important to know why you underwent surgery on your left kidney 6 months back. If there was a stone and should you have a tendency for urinary stone formation then please get back to the urologist and also get investigated for any stones in your right kidney. You might require an ultrasound scan abdomen and pelvis or a ct scan plain to see any kidney stones. If your surgery was done for any kidney infection then also the pain might be evaluated with an ultrasound scan to look for any urinary obstruction. For this also it is better to consult the urologist and they might ask you to get urine test done for infection. Please drink adequate amount of water and visit washroom regularly. Regards,

Good morning! I see no reason why you cannot go abroad and settle down there. Every place has medical facilities that can be used by you. However, it would only be judicious to visit your urologist and get his NOC for the same. He could also help you by online consultation in case you face any difficulty at any point of time. All the best. Take care.

I drink more than 5 litre of water daily & I urinate almost 10-12 times in a day. Is this natural or am I in a problem.

I drink more than 5 litre of water daily & I urinate almost 10-12 times in a day. Is this natural or am I in a problem.
5 litres is a bit too much of water. Limit your water intake to around 2 - 2.5 litres that is half of what you are taking now. Drinking too much water is not good. It can cause dilutional hyponatremia and you can feel weak because of that.
