Alopecia Areata(Patchy Hair Loss) - How Homeopathy Helps Treat It?

Alopecia word meaning is loss of hair and areata meaans in patches.Hence Alopecia areata means loss of hair in patches. The bald patches occur very quickly, are round or oval in shape and have sharply defined margins. The affected scalp area either looks normal or has a glossy apperence.Alopecia areata(patchyhair loss) can occur anywhere on the skin but the scalp and beard area are the most common location.

Etiology:
Alopecia areata is considered to be an auto immune problem and that can be triggered by bacterial or viral infections, severe stress, trauma to the skin, vaccinations or  exposure to any substance that caan become an antigen to the body.oftenly it is found that Alopecia areata is assoisiated with other Auto immune conditions such as vitiligo (Leucoderma),Thyroid problem,Rheumatoid Arthritis,Pernicious Anemia and Diabetes mellitus. About 40-50% of patient with Alopecia areata also have history of atopic diseases such as skin allergies,Asthma.Genetic and familial dispostion also seems to play a role in alopecia areata.

Complications:
If left untreated Alopecia Areata may progress further upto Alopecia totalis i.e complete loss of hair in scalp and alopecia universalis i.e complete loss of hair in scalp, eyebrows, beard and all over the body.

Treatment:
Conventional treatment of Alopecia areata include use of corticosteroids, application of minoxidil solution 5 % etc., but none of them prevent formation of new patches and actually curing the disease from its root cause.Homeopathic medicines selected after a full indivualization, symptoms and case analysis which includes physical and mental symptoms and constitution as well gives good and long lasting results.Homeopathic medicines commonly found useful in this conditions are phosphorus, Flouric Acid ,lycopodium, Selenium etc.

Along with medications some Lifestyle modifications such as practising de stressing activity  such as doing yoga and pranayam daily for 10-15 minutes, avoiding non veg items esp red meat such as pork, mutton, beef, use of green tea is also helpful. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Homeopath.

How Dermal Fillers Help You Look Years Younger

How Dermal Fillers Help You Look Years Younger

Dermal or skin fillers are natural or synthetic substances that are used to make a particular area on the face look plump, in other words 'fill' the skin produce younger looking, firmer, plumper skin. Usually used as injections, they plump up the skin just enough to make the wrinkle or the fine lines disappear. While Botox is also used as an injection, its intended use and area of use is different from fillers. Botox is most often used in the outer corners of the eyes and around the forehead.

Fillers are used in other areas mentioned below:

  1. The laugh lines or the nasolabial folds, lines that run from the nose to the mouth. Fillers can help smooth out the creases and add volume to this area.
  2. It can make the cheeks look fuller and provide a youthful appearance. Especially in the lower cheek areas, the fat pads shift constantly giving a hollowed out appearance. Fillers can be used in this area to produce younger appearance with fuller cheeks
  3. The undereye area, where there are depressions or hollows can produce a sagging, elderly look. Fillers used here can improve the appearance markedly
  4. Even out scars resulting from chicken pox or chronic acne
  5. Even out irregularities due to shifting fat pads, especially in the temple area or the lower cheek areas.
  6. Adding volume to thin lips, which again can make one appear old and aged
  7. Smoothing out vertical lines around the lip edges, which again produce an elderly appearance

These are some uses of dermal fillers. As mentioned, they can be natural or synthetic substances.

Natural fillers usually has hyaluronic acid and is usually effective immediately, but last for about 6 months to a year. In some people, subsequent filler injections produce effective results and the interval between injections may continue to increase. If you are

Synthetic ones on the other hand contain collagen or other similar chemicals, but can produce more long-lasting results. They can be semi-permanent or permanent.

When to use fillers: A great skin care regime can help delay the onset of ageing changes and also reduce the severity. However, despite it, after a certain stage, there would definitely be changes arising out of muscle movement, fat loss, chronic sun damage, ageing skin, etc. When these begin to bother you, then dermal fillers are a good option to consider.

However, a detailed discussion with your dermatologist including aspects of both should ensue. From the doctor's end, check for his skills, experience, technique used, testimonials and expenses. Discuss your skin type, risk tolerance, and potential side effects before choosing a treatment option. Once you opt for dermal fillers, the routine skin care with well tested products needs to continue, including aggressive care against sun damage.

For pimples it's important to wash your face twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil from your skin's surface, avoid touching your face or propping your cheek or chin on your hands. Not only can you spread bacteria, you can also irritate the already inflamed facial skin. Never pick or pop pimples with your fingers, as it can lead to infection and scarring. A dietary therapy for pimples can also help a lot. I am a registered dietitian and a doctor who will help you in your skin problems reply back for private consultation.

Sir I want to remove my unwanted hair on my body permanently. Is any treatment available. For permanently lose of hai...
Unwanted hair troubles many of us. Though waxing, shaving and tweezing have been used as a successful methods to remove hair for long, but with busy lifestyle and the tension of undergoing pain every month or so makes hair removal a very tedious process. The process is all the more painful for sensitive skins and areas like face, bikini and underarms. Moreover, the post waxing bumps, ingrown hair gives nightmares to many. Laser hair removal is one the best and safest technique to get rid off unwanted area from any part of the body. The technique involves killing the hair follicles from where the hair grows. It requires multiple sitting to complete kill all the follicles but that depends from patient to patient, hair thickness and intensity. One important point to note here is that laser technique are not same for all skin tones. People with darker skin tone have customised laser procedure according to their skin type and different procedure is used for lighter skin tones. Results of laser are best on people with dark, coarse hair and a fair complexion. One of the myths associated with laser hair removal is that - once you get it done, you will stay hair free for all your life, but that is not the case. Hair will grow again after several months of the procedure, but they will be much lesser in intensity and thickness. Before going for laser hair removal, always visit your dermatologist in advance as the process involves some preparation. You have to stay away from waxing for at least 1-2 months before laser therapy, similarly, an analysis of skin in advance is very important as some people have really sensitive skin. Laser hair removal therapy is indeed a gift to all those who have excessive body hair either naturally or because of some hormonal imbalance like PCOS. Having a shiny and smooth skin is everyone’s right. Visit your nearest dermatologist soon to get a customised treatment that is both cost effective and safe.
