Pain in the chest may be due to several causes like cardiac, lung, muscle, bones, joints, thyroid disease, anxiety to name a few. The pain in the chest might not be originating from the chest. It may be a referred pain from your gut due to digestive issues ,wrong eating habits ,eating processed garbage foods not sleeping well, not exercising, not having bowel movement, stress at work and home history of smoking /tobacco / alcohol/ soft drink consumption eat home food / outside food cooking oil used. Vitamin deficiency needs to be ruled out minerals deficiency needs to be ruled out the problem the drs you have met have told you that nothing is there is because 1) They have not taken a detailed history of at least 1 hour to figure out what is your problem 2) they do not have any knowledge of nutrition and hence I presume they have not ruled out certain things 3) They do not think outside the box they have treated your symptom-chest pain with a temporary band aid fix they should have addressed the root cause of your problem which might be elsewhere which is a permanent fix what are the tests you have done and what are the results what is your job and the nature of your job without all these information no Dr. Can give any specific advice You will require certain supplements. Your Gut is your gateway to health. So take a consult after sharing name and working number and solve your issue naturally without medicines with diet and lifestyle changes Remember You cannot fix your health without fixing your diet.

High Cholesterol - 6 Ayurvedic Remedies That Can Help You Lower It!

Cholesterol is a type of fatty acid that is produced by the liver. The body uses cholesterol to perform various activities such as synthesizing of hormones, bile acid and vitamin D. Ayurveda views it as an important component of the body in terms of lubrication. The Ayurvedic approach of balancing cholesterol is not only to curb the cholesterol amount, but also to strictly control diet so that the secretion of cholesterol can be curtailed. Here are a few Ayurvedic hat-tips that can help to lower cholesterol and restore normal body function of the body:

  1. Medicago satina: They are better known as Alfalfa and is famous for their ability to deal with artery-related diseases. They are capable of clearing arteries that are congested with cholesterol. They can be consumed daily as a whole or by mixing them in juice.
  2. Arjuna: Arjuna is yet another powerful Ayurvedic herb that is mighty powerful in dealing with cardiac conditions such as heart blockages, heart attacks etc. The bark of the Arjuna tree can be taken and consumed in the form of powder. They have the capability to dissolve cholesterol and prevent heart blockages. This should be consumed earlier in the morning, before breakfast with lukewarm water.
  3. Coriander: Coriander is considered to be one of the best herbal diuretic agents. It can revitalize the kidneys and help them perform better in terms of excretion of waste. The kidney, therefore, can flush the excess cholesterol from the body. Coriander can be consumed along with food on a daily basis.
  4. Garlic: Garlic again has been known to mankind for centuries and is extremely beneficial for people suffering from high cholesterol. Two cloves of garlic on a daily basis can completely neutralize the effect of high cholesterol in the blood. Apart from freeing up arteries, garlic has multiple other health benefits.
  5. Guggulu: This herb is one of the popular herbs among ayurvedic practitioners for treating high blood pressure and high cholesterol in the blood. They contain guggulsterones, which is known to be an active blocker of bad cholesterol in the blood. Consumption of 25 mg of this substance can make a person totally free from high cholesterol. They can be taken after any meals.
  6. Holy basil or tulsi: Holy basil is another popular and traditional Indian hub that is extensively used by ayurvedic practitioners to treat high cholesterol in the bloodstream. They can eliminate excess cholesterol through the kidneys. It is used for preparing multiple medicines. It is a proven medicinal herb that is very efficient in dealing with excess cholesterol in the blood. They have the ability to disintegrate cholesterol from the body. 2-3 leaves of tulsi can be consumed on a daily basis. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an ayurveda.

Depending on the cause of your symptoms, your doctor may tell you to increase your blood pressure by making these simple changes: eat a diet higher in salt. Drink lots of nonalcoholic fluids. 1) salt water salt water helps treat low blood pressure because the sodium in salt increases blood pressure. Do not overdo this remedy though, as excess salt can prove to be unhealthy. Simply mix one-half teaspoon of salt in a glass of water and drink it. You can also drink sports beverages. 2. Coffee having a cup of strong coffee, hot chocolate, cola, or any caffeinated beverage can also temporarily increase your blood pressure. If you frequently suffer from low blood pressure, drink a cup of coffee in the morning or have it along with meals, especially when dealing with orthostatic hypotension. But, do not make it a habit because the long-term effects of caffeine are not clear. 3. Raisins raisins are a traditional ayurvedic remedy that is considered excellent for treating hypotension naturally. Soak 30 to 40 raisins in a cup of water overnight. Eat them in the morning, one at a time, on an empty stomach. You can also drink the water in which the raisins were soaked. Follow this remedy for a few weeks or even a month. You can take about four to five almonds, 10 to 15 black currants, and 15 to 20 peanuts along with a glass of milk. 4. Holy basil holy basil is beneficial for low blood pressure because it is rich in vitamin c, magnesium, potassium, and pantothenic acid. Furthermore, it helps balance the mind and reduces stress. Extract the juice of 10 to 15 basil leaves. Add one teaspoon of honey to it. Drink this juice daily on an empty stomach. You can also chew four to five basil leaves daily in the morning. 5. Licorice root licorice root is another popular home remedy for normalizing low blood pressure caused by low levels of cortisol. It blocks the enzyme that breaks down cortisol and supports healthy adrenalin function. It is also effective in curing chronic fatigue syndrome. You can prepare licorice tea by steeping one teaspoon of this herb (dried or powdered) in a cup of boiling water for about five minutes. You can take it daily for a few days. Alternatively, you can take about 400-500 mg of licorice root capsules for a few days. 6. Beetroot juice raw beetroot juice is helpful in dealing with high as well as low blood pressure. For hypotension, drink a cup of beetroot juice twice daily for about one week. Other natural fruit juices are also considered helpful in this regard. 7. Almonds and milk- this is another traditional home remedy for low blood pressure. Soak five to six almonds in water overnight. In the morning, peel off the skin and grind the almonds into a smooth paste. Finally, boil the paste in a cup of milk. Drink a cup of this every morning. 8. Rosemary- rosemary is believed to be useful in normalizing low blood pressure because it stimulates the central nervous system and improves circulation. Take up to 10 ml of rosemary tincture per day. Having freshly prepared infusion with this herb or adding it to your foods is also useful. Furthermore, you can simply add three to four drops of rosemary essential oil in your diffuser for aromatherapy benefits. 9. Carrot juice- starting your day with fresh carrot juice mixed with a little honey is an easy way to treat low blood pressure. Take a glass of carrot juice. Mix two tablespoons of honey in it. Drink it twice daily (on an empty stomach in the morning and in the evening). 10. Lemon juice- lemon juice is highly effective in treating high blood pressure, but it can also be used for low blood pressure, especially when it is caused by dehydration. In such cases, you can drink some lemon juice mixed with a little salt and sugar. It helps energize your body by stimulating the liver function and aiding in digestion. A glass of sugarcane juice mixed with a teaspoon of lemon juice and salt is also useful.

I am 77 years old . I had TRA in Sept last year. Taking CLOPITAB since then. Will it help me to avoid further attack.
Yes it will In general every patient who has a significant blockage in the heart or has a history of heart attack should be on at least 4 types of medications 1) antiplatelets which increase the clotting time of blood and decrease chances of future heart attacks and Re-stenosis of the stent. Initially you are kept on two types of antiplatelets and depending upon your disease and your progress your then shifted to single antiplatelet after 6 months or 1 year.  Eg: ecosprin, clopidogrel, Prasugrel, brillianta 2) Statins - are cholesterol lowering medications which are supposed to again prevent future heart attacks.  Eg. Tonact / atorvas 3) ARB / ACE Inhibitors - which help decreasing pressure on the heart and prevents remodeling injuries. Eg. Cardace / telma 4) Beta Blockers - They decrease the heart rate thereby reducing the work load on the heart and decrease BP also.  eg. Atenolol / Betaloc / metolar  usually all post angioplasty patients are kept on at least these 4 types of medications and depending upon the side effects and contraindications of medications are changed and slowly over period of time the dosage of these medications are decreased depending upon the recovery Get back to me with the reports for a detailed consultation.   Watch these simple explanatory videos for underlying the problem. I am suffering from pain in my lower legs. Blood test shows less of vitamin D and excess of Uric acid and LDL cholest...
Mr. lybrate-user, Looking at your weight and height it is clear that you have grade 1 obesity with a BMI of 30.5 kgs/M2. Your ideal body weight should be closer to 65 kgs, hence, carrying an extra weight of 25 kgs. This itself can be a major reason for various problems. Plus if uric acid is hige (above 7 mg/100 ml), then that to may contribute to joint pains. You may have avoid high purine containing foods like red meat, organ meats, certain fishes like sardines, salmon, scallops, herrings, haddock and mushrooms and mussels. Also alcohol and aerated drinks need to be avoided. Thanks.
