Do You Know These Things About Your Spine ?

Spine / backbone / vertebral column is made of 33 individual bones (vertebrae) stacked one on top of the other with intervertebral disc, tendons, ligaments, spinal nerves, muscles to provide main support to the body to allow it to stand upright.

Adult spine has natural "S" shape with 33 number of vertebrates.

1) Cervical spine (neck) = 7

2) Thoracic spine (mid back) =12

3) Lumbar spine (lower back) =5

4) Sacrum coccyx (tail) = 9

Today, cervical - lumbar spine problems have become part of life due to lifestyle.

The time tested complete treatment; cure for spinal problems is in AYURVEDIC THERAPY MEDICINES.

- medicated oil massage steam relieves muscle spasm, stiffness, pain

- medicated oil massage increases the blood flow / circulation to that area which helps in healing and maintaining proper tone of muscles

- medicated steam open the pores so that oil gets deeper to joint articulation to provide lubrication

- steam also helps to detoxify in results to make it feel light free to move

In KATI BASTI / MANYA BASTI oil helps to accumulate osteophytes (tiny bone particles like chalk dust) together .

According to Ayurvedic principles it reduces the VATA in the joint as well in body which is responsible for degeneration, pain, deterioration.

Knee Dislocation - What Causes It?

MS - Orthopaedics

Knee Dislocation - What Causes It?

Kneecap dislocation is a condition wherein the ligaments, responsible to bind the knee bones together, separate from each other. Although a very rare phenomenon in itself, knee dislocation can lead to permanent loss of mobility, if not taken care of immediately after diagnosis.

Causes
Knee dislocation can occur, if you have had recently survived any major accident such as a car crash or taken a fall from a high-storeyed building. A dislocated kneecap might cause significant numbness and severe pain below the knees. In some cases, the knee can get relocated on its own, which might cause the kneecaps to become swollen, numb and extremely painful to live with as time passes. The general structure of the leg might be significantly deformed due to a dislocated kneecap.

Treatments
The doctor can opt for a relocation of the lower leg to revert it to its former position.
b. To prevent future accidents, the doctor will recommend the use of an immobilizer to prevent the kneecaps from bending, and also to initiate the healing process.
c. Under extreme conditions, a dislocated knee might permanently damage the knee bones and the assorted tissues (ligaments). In such cases, a surgery will be recommended to restore normalcy.

It is recommended to regularly follow up with an orthopaedist to avoid future complications. One might also take the help of crutches which might help to move the kneecap in a much more controlled way. Just be a bit extra cautious while engaging in sports such as skiing, bungee jumping, or any other contact sports.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Good Morning sir, I had a thigh pain for the last 20 yrs. My daily work involves walking and standing for couple of hours. During the day time specially when I am moving I don't feel pain but during night and during rest i.e during laying in bed I feel sever pain and if some weight or somebody press me I feel relax. I am not taking medicine for it. Also during winter I feel very cold in thigh compare to other parts of the body. Another my health issue is that I catch cold very fast. Little climatic change make me cold even in summer when I sleep directly below the fan I will have cold. Usually I got cold in the morning and at night. I usually take D-Cold and other form of antibiotic for cold which will cure for some days but it will again come. Some doctor told me it is cold allergic. Please suggest what to do. At present I am doing no treatment for the both and I am not taking any medicine. Please help.

Dear lybrate-user Ji, Your thigh pain may be due to varicose veins, which developed by long standing, so try to avoid long standing work, massage the thigh with KSHEER BALA LAKSHADI oil & wear leg stocking, your another health issue of catching cold very fast is due to lack of body immunity. Try to boost immunity, for it do yoga & exercise regularly, add more fruits and vegetables in your diet, Take Tab. Imusan (Himalya) 1-1-1 three times a day, CHAWANPRASH 5-5 gms with milk+ turmeric.

I am suresh kumar . I am 35 years old and I am suffering from backpain please suggest some medicine.
Hi, backache causes due to postural defects, stress, anxiety, traumatic injury, more than 50% cases are due to depression, deformity & stiffness of spine. Smoking, consumption of alcohol, angina factors, cholecystitis & insomnia. *smoking & alcohol are directly linked with neck & back pain, it causes disc degeneration of vertebrae. *respect your pain * & go for yoga and meditation to nourish vertebrae & back muscle, to ease your back pain. *go for constant movement of back muscle, joints which makes back muscle & spine, flexible. *nowadays meditation & yoga has become the way of life not an exercise, please opt it. #tk, homoeo medicine: @ rhus tox 200-6 pills thrice a day. @ arnica mont200-6-6 pills, thrice a day. *tk, plenty of water to eliminate toxins and moisten your back muscle to improve flexibility. *ensure, sound sleep for 7 hrs at least, in d night in d right posture on a hard surface. *your diet b easily digestible on time, don' t, skip your meal. *avoid, caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, junkfood, cold intake, exposure to cold, scorching sun. Sitting for a long time on d table. Tk care.
