Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Hello, Body pain may be due to 1. fever 2. abrupt start or stop of exercise 3. Any other medical disease like Anaemia/ Hypoproteinemia/ Thyroid problem 4. Vit D deficiency 5. Achilles tendonitis or heel pain or plantar fasciitis is a very common condition. During night our feet are in a downward position which causes their stiffness. When we try to straighten them in the morning, they are stretched and hence the pain. You can start by doing feet stretching exercises in the morning before getting down from the bed and do ice packs.

I am 50 years old, I am suffering from pain at my right leg before toe, the pain is unbearable, it is due to my uric acid level is high than normal. Is any medicine to get rid from uric acid.

Normal level are 2.4-6mg/dl in male and in female and3.4-7mg/dl .High uric acid can cause Gout,arthritis,Kidney stone 1. Avoid protein rich diets like mutton, egg, fish,sea food(sardines)/prawn 2.Avoid pulses,, lentill, mushrooms, green leafy vegetablles like broccoli, cauli flower, spinach, beans, peas 3. I received HEPATITIS B VACCINE on my left shoulder almost four years ago back then I was a regular at GYM- used to lift 100 kg without much unease used to do treadmill walking without getting exhausted no persistent pain anywhere in the body. Post vaccination, I started experiencing various ACHES AND PAIN - started with left shoulder pain spontaneously (just the left not the right) making me unable to lift even half the weights i.e. 50 kg (used to lift 100 kg earlier). Thereafter series of unexplained pain started my toes began to hurt while walking - sometimes left and sometimes right. The pain isn’t there at rest. I am sure it is not due to shoes, as the pain occurs irrespective of the type of shoes I wear. Following the vaccination, there is also perceivable significant LOSS IN STAMINA I experience breathlessness in the initial phase of walking on the treadmill - earlier I used to walk on treadmill for quite some time with ease. There is persistent feeling of fatigue exhaustion which does not alleviate with rest. There is presence of persistent dry cough which cannot be accounted for. Also, to add on, there is a constant pain that I experience in my LEFT UPPER ABDOMEN in a specific area while I am seated. Hence I feel very uncomfortable whenever I am sitting on a chair or a couch, or in the bus. The pain I perceive is connected to posture and a change in the same eliminates it which makes me feel that it is muscular in origin. There is absolutely no abdominal pain when I am standing or lying down. No pain medicines have helped so far. I am sure the cause does not lie in the digestive tract i.e. Stomach, small intestines or large intestines as I don’t have any indigestion problem. My appetite is just fine, I eat well and at proper times. To summarise my agony- I was absolutely alright and pain free 4-years ago before I received the HEPATITIS B VACCINE, used to work out regularly. But now, I am left debilitated, feel tired all the time.

Hi, as you didn't talk about duration of your problem, still I think that it will help you. If you have a same problem since past many month and all your investigations reveals normal finding then you may be suffering from somatoform disorder. In this person have pain at multiple sites, along with that have stomach problem like gastritis, bloating etc. They also have other problem like burning sensation, tingling sensation in different body part, some person also have sexual difficulty too. Hi, thanks for the query. Our nutrient needs differ in each phase of our life. Diet is the fuel for our body. It is important to know that just eating two heavy meals a day will not fulfill your nutrient needs. Most often we skip meals especially when at work or in college. We start our day on empty stomach but our work or stress or activity is never reduced. This causes weakness and lack of energy levels. Food is our source of energy and if you don't eat well as per your needs you are going to get deficient in many nutrients. So, start by eating the right foods at the right time. Eat meals at frequent intervals. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits in your meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. You should feel better and energetic in a few days.

Dear, the most common causes of weakness are * anemia * metabolic disorder (diabetes, hypothyroidism) * breathing problems (asthma, sinusitis) *digestion problems (diarrhea, gestric ulcers) * cervical spondylosis first check out your haemoglobin (hb), if your hb is low, then eat a lot of green vehetables and iron rich foods like apple, guava, sapotas (cheeku, beet root and oranges. Takeiron suppliments for increase in hb. If your hb level is normal then your all parts of body get adequate level of oxygen. 2. Take deep breaths atleast for 10-15 minutes twice a day. 3. Check out the blood sugar fasting in every 6 months. If blood sugar level, then take proper medicines for high sugar level. 4. In thyroid disorder, there is a feeling of weakness and tiredness. Check out your thyroid profile, if you feel tired even after the proper deit and medicines and take treatment. 5. In the morning, do medication regulary, do pranayam atleast for 5 -10 minute. Hi! I am 25 years old working as Junior engineer. I drunk a lot as I am having lot of stress due to family problem. Since last couple of weeks I am getting backache plus the whole body pains even my arms and leg. I ask my wife to massage it everyday and has become a routine as daily process. Now we are trying to have a baby but its been about three to four months and she cannot conceive. I smoke a lot too. Hi, where are you from lybrate-user? in fact, smoking and drinking (alcohol) does not solve any issues. It may rather complicate stuff as it is damaging for your health. Apparently, myalgia, as you experience is associated with your mental stress and depression. First and foremost, I would advise you a complete cessation of drinking as well as smoking gradually over the next couple of days. Do exercise, yoga and'pranayam'/ breath control daily for self control and health. Streamline your diet and lifestyle too. Take lots of leafy greens and fruits on a daily basis and stay well hydrated. Consume fresh turmeric, lemon, garlic and ginger in culinary doses, daily. Additionally, a capsule of cod liver oil daily with food over the next 2 weeks helps too. Listen to melodious music of choice on a regular basis and take some time out for meditation daily.
