I am suffering from eosinophilia since last 4-5 years. I most often suffer from severe congestion, breathing problem and windpipe swelling during the starting of summers. I tried various kinds of allopathic treatment for this. I tried homeopathy as well. But nothing helped much. Please recommend a proper treatment that can treat this from the root. Thankyou!

You are having bronchial asthma, eosinophilic variety. Treatment is very simple. Avoidance of allergens or triggers which increase your symptoms and regular use of inhaler containing bronchodilator and corticosteroids is the best treatment. Safe also. Treat coexisting conditions like sinus and acid reflux.

Dear lybtateuser, - Your chest pain could be due to acidity, anxiety or sedentary habits - chew your food well, do not skip meals, have meals on time, have 4-5 small meals rather than three large meals, have dinner 2-3 hrs before bedtime, avoid spicy, fried, sour & junk food - have 7-8 glasses of water for proper digestion - do regular exercise like walking, jogging, also do yoga & deep breathing exercise for 10-15 min in the morning - have syrup gelusil, 2 teaspoonful half an hour after meals three times a day.

Sir; I wanted to know what are the main reasons for increase in the cholesterol level in the body?

MBBS, MD-General Medicine, DM - Cardiology
Cardiologist, Secunderabad
Sir; I wanted to know what are the main reasons for increase in the cholesterol level in the body?
Cholesterol level increases due to increased production and decreased burning by body. If you eat lots of unhealthy junk foods or fat rich foods then your body converts them to cholesterol. Similarly if you don't burn your fat by exercise then they tend to accumulate. There are other causes also. But these are simplest of explanations.

Hello there, certainly you are a established case of high bp. As your bp is high with medicine. You need active medical treatment. Plan for prevention of complications of high bp in future. 1) find out root causes of high bp. 2) avoid oily, fried, alcohol & high calorie food. 3) avoid excessive eating. 5) reduce 25% quantity of carbohydrate s (chapatti, rice, bhakari, idli) in each meal. 6) maintain your bmi strictly between 23 to 25.7) change your edible oil every month (mustard oil, groundnut oil, kardai, sunflower oil, rice bran oil, coconut oil etc) 8) reduce you belly size & belly fat (visceral fat) 9) have more vegetables & dal in each meal (each 1 bowl)

Get total lipid profile done besides basic cardiac tests. High cholesterol can run in families due to genetic factors. Reduce oily food and take more seasonal vegetables and fruits. Lemon juice + spoon of honey with warm water, taken on empty stomach every morning helps bring down cholesterol.

Mr. lybrate-user, Looking at your weight and height it is clear that you have grade 1 obesity with a BMI of 30.5 kgs/M2. Your ideal body weight should be closer to 65 kgs, hence, carrying an extra weight of 25 kgs. This itself can be a major reason for various problems. Plus if uric acid is hige (above 7 mg/100 ml), then that to may contribute to joint pains. You may have avoid high purine containing foods like red meat, organ meats, certain fishes like sardines, salmon, scallops, herrings, haddock and mushrooms and mussels. Also alcohol and aerated drinks need to be avoided. Thanks.

Hi, Their is no attached report. You can only send report in a private question only. So if you want you can do that. Still high cholesterol can be decreased by taking fat less diet, if you have to use oil use olive oil only, do exercise regularly for at least 5 days a week for minimum 30 minutes. Check it again after 3 months, if it is still high than you will need medication. If it is very high at present, you will need medicine now only. Thanks.

Dear lybrate user, cholesterol is naturally produced inside the body of every living animal. Human beings are no exception to that. But when we take mutton, chicken, yellow part of a boiled egg, ghee, butter etc we intake cholesterol from external source. This extra cholesterol from external sources increase the total cholesterol content of human body. You should always keep your cholesterol level within normal limits as high cholesterol serves as a precursor to various cardiac diseases. Avoid the aforesaid food. Walk at least 1 hour in a day without any interval. Also you can take homoeopathic mother tincture fucus vesiculosus q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water.
