Back pain could be due to bad posture or low vitamin d levels in a majority of cases so learn spinal extension exercises from a physiotherapist and do them upto 3 times a day 20 mins each. Get your vitamin d and uric acid levels done fasting and revert back with reports.

Hello. Maintain a right standing and sitting posture, keep your back always straight, avoid carrying weight on back. Hold or carry weight divided equally in both the hands or shoulders (to avoid over straining on one particular hand or shoulder). (Excessive sitting or standing is to be avoided as well don’t carry much weight on shoulders). Exercise: Practice Shavasana or Corpse Pose as it looks like a dead body. If practiced correctly and with full efforts, can relax every body part, relaxing not only the body but also the mind: Spread the legs one to two feet apart, the toes are turned outwards, the heels facing each other, a comfortable distance apart. Bring the arms a little away from the body, palms turned upward. Relax the neck and allow it to turn to the side if it is more comfortable. Close the eyes and focus the attention on the body, breathing normally. Begin focusing each body part and relaxing it, then moving on. Keep the mind focused on relaxation, the breath should be normal. Relax the whole body. Management: -Stretching or activities that place additional strain on the back are discouraged. -Sleeping with a pillow between the knees while lying on one side may increase comfort. -Lying on your back with a pillow under your knees would also relieves pain and no pillow under your head. -Some people seem to benefit from the use of ice or heat. Take care, do not use a heating pad on ‘high’ or place ice directly on the skin. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. Get back to me thereafter.

I am 31 year old female. I have a kid of 1 year old. I had lumbar spondylosis before marriage but after delivery my back pain has increased to a level where I ca neither sit nor stand and I don get proper sleep either. I have not taken any medication as I am a nursing mother. I started brisk walking regularly after my toddler reached completed 1 year. Kindly let me know what I should do to reduce this pain and have proper sleep.

hello, history of back pain ,now delivary & feeding these all leads to low calcium in body . 1) Do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min., afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) Start natural calcium supplement. 3) Do regular stretching exercise 4) In yoga DO BHUJANGASAN, HALASAN & SURYANAMASKAR. Give feedback after 4 days. u can start walk . sleep distarbance is natural due to feeding .sleep when u get time

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hello lybrate-user, I am sorry to learn about all the difficulties you are facing. Our mind and bodies have a strong connection- our mind reflects the weakness and lethargy due to some deficiencies in the body. Similarly, the body responds by the change in emotions as a result of these physical changes which are felt by the mind. You have a small baby and you should be able to care for her/him to your fullest potential, as their childhood will not return. Therefore, I hope you are able to overcome your emotional problems, soon. As for physical problems, I would strongly advise you do a full body check-up once and get following tests done- 1. Thyroid profile 2. Vit d3 3. Vit b12 4. Hba1c (glycated sugar) once when you get your test reports consult your physician as to what diet and lifestyle modifications should be made. And also take medication, if any required. Ffollow your doctor's advise, thereafter as deligently as possible. If your body will get fitter you mind will slowly begin to feel better and the quality of your thoughts and moods will improve. You will also feel more open to talking about any life problems if they are bothering you or you're not able to find a solution to. Don't worry, this is just a temporary phase. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

Can't be considered without proper examination. If you don't have any problems with doing activities then that's not. HTN is a lifestyle disease start modifications of lifestyle along with salt restrictions and physical activity of an hour daily.

Hi I can understand your problem. # relax & stay positive. # take hot and cold fomentation. # learn posture care exercise. # use lumbar support. # take break every 20 minutes. # do strengthening exercise of back and core muscles not all back pains are same. Do share investigation reports if you have any.

I am 45 years old medium healthy female, housewife, busy with all household daily works and last 02 years suffering from more belly/stomach. Also earlier about 10 years before I had slip disc problem at l-4/l-5. Nowadays again severe backache I am facing. Please guide me and suggestion.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Well you have mentioned that you earlier were having same problem, but was it ok in between or do you have these symptoms off and on? also as you have also gained weight, the problems may intensify in the near future. Also degenerative changes in spine occur especially if disc spaces collapse because it increases overall pressure on facet joints of spine and adjacent discs as well. But my advise is that if your pain is still a localized lower back pain with no other leg pain, numbness or any other nerve related symptoms, then - start leading an active lifestyle which means daily walks for around 2-3 km in a day - intensive back exercises to strengthen your back muscles - abdominal strengthening and other general conditioning exercises - to maintain proper posture of your back at all times in a day - physical therapy with modalities can be done initially for some time although mainstay will remain your exercises - take anti-inflammatory medication for 5-7 days to get initial relief - maintain proper calcium and vitamin d intake also please get one digital x ray done and send both films and report to me x ray ls spine ( ap & lateral-flexion and extension views) do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Hi lybrate-user, pls inform about any injury / trauma over the area involved. Meanwhile, gentle massage over the affected part with lukewarm herbal pain relieving oil for 20 minutes followed by hot fomentation. It will relax the muscles and the veins of your affected part improving the blood supply to the organ and giving strength to it. Please avoid over-use of the part affected i. E. Lifting weight - pushing or pulling heavy objects. Give proper rest to the part - let it heal with the time. This will greatly help. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking.

I would like to examine you in detail & investigate. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid, vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried. Do hot fomentation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1 tab od x10. Orthotrue 1tab. (from mankind) od x 10 days make sure that, there is no allergy to any of the medicines. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful. Use no pillow under the head. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days, contact me again.

Quite often I get sciatic nerve pain. Will not be able to sit, stand or even sleep. Sometimes right leg and sometimes left leg. Taking pain killer for temporary relief. Please advice the remedies for the nerve pain. I get cramps as well, had calcium deficiency and lot of hair loss, taking thyroid treatment. Medicine suggested for thyroid was Euthyroid 25, now taking vitamin tablets for hair. But nerve pain is really bad. I get pain from little above thigh till foot.

Hair fall is Very common for thyroid patients. Hope it's controlled with medicine and within mormal range. If not then get it corrected. Next back pain - (Sciatica pain) need to assess properly as there are so many causes of Back pain. Kindly don't take any medication without proper consultation.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold.
