Hi sir, Jst 1 month back I had a muscle sprain on my lower back while doing warm up exercises. Normally it does not pain. It only pains when I twist or bend my back. After a month I had recovered a lot. Nw when I bend my back forward I get the pain. The pain is not so severe but it feels so uncomfortable while doing workout. Now I want to know how much more time needed to recover as I am engaged in sports (boxing).

If it is diffuse type of swelling on the muscular part of the neck it may be related to Muscle sprain. But usually muscle sprain will cause pain too. Other possibilities are lymph node enlargement due to some infection or some other reason at cervical lymph or sub mandible regions (below the chin at the side of throat near Tonsils area) Heart burn may be not connected with this, could be due to hyper acidity. Meet the general physician once to evaluate.

Try few things for your back pain: - Apply Ice and Heat Heating pads and cold packs can comfort tender trunks. Most doctors recommend using ice for the first 48 hours after an injury -- particularly if there is swelling — and then switching to heat. You can use whichever you find comforting as long as your skin is protected. - Limit Bed Rest Studies show that people with short-term low-back pain who rest feel more pain and have a harder time with daily tasks than those who stay active. -Keep Exercising Activity is often the best medicine for back pain. Simple exercises like walking can be very helpful. But remember to move in moderation, Stay away from strenuous activities like gardening and avoid whatever motion caused the pain in the first place. -Maintain Good Posture most people have poor posture when going about their daily activities, putting unnecessary strain on their backs. -Strengthen Your Core Most people with chronic back pain would benefit from stronger abdominal muscles. If the abdominals are weak, other areas must pick up the slack. When we strengthen the abdominals, it often reduces the strain on the lower back. - Improve Flexibility Too much tension and tightness can cause back pain. By increasing flexibility you need to put an equal load throughout the body from the feet all the way up to the head. -Sleep the Right Way The amount of rest you get is important, and so is the position you get it in. Sleeping in a bad position or on a mattress without support can cause back pain. Back sleepers should put pillows under their knees. Side sleepers should place pillows between their knees to keep their spine in a neutral position. Stomach sleeping causes the neck and head to twist and can put undue stress on the back. -Use Relaxation Techniques Research shows that practices such as meditation, deep breathing and yoga, which help put the mind at rest, can do wonders for the back. -See a Specialist Developing an individualized exercise plan is essential to managing chronic back pain. Dear lybrate-user, just pain in body is not a problem. Check for your vitamin and calcium levels in the body. Deficiency of calcium nd vitamins increases weakness due to that you suffer pains. Take vitamins and calcium rich food. According to reports after b12 nd d3 test. Take pills.

3 years ago I had an accident which broken my fibula and tibia, I had operation and now I can walk, run normally but my leg is more bulgy than the other leg it is also skinny at the fracture point, what should I do to regain original shape of my leg.

I am suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. My age is 33 yr. initially I was diagnosed as reactive arthiritis by Dr. in Jehangir Hospital & then sapho syndrome by another Dr. at Sancheti hospital. My joints pains a lot. Frozen shoulder, the leg fingers r swollen, spine pains, right knee joint swelling, right leg ankle is paining, left leg too. Overall i'm feeling like 70 yrs aged person. 1. Increase intake of barley flour, horse gram (a type of bean), split green gram, honey, celery seeds, cumin seeds, dried ginger root powder, garlic, bitter gourd and castor oil. 2. Avoid eating fish and milk together or milk and jaggery together. 3. Avoid incompatible, heavy, and oily foods. 4. Avoid an improper diet and lifestyle, such as waking up late in the night, suppressing natural urges of the body, and getting direct exposure to cold winds. 5. Go for absolute fasting or rely on a liquid or semi-solid diet for an entire day, depending on your strength. You can follow this with hot fomentation (application of moist heat). This can be done by soaking cloth in warm water and giving a compress over the affected parts or steam bath or taking a bath with lukewarm water. These are the best methods of digesting ama. 6. Go for panchkaarma therapy for 10 days in some panchkarma center.

Apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha yograj guggul 1-1 twice a day after lunch and dinner. Take maharasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Avoid tea. Coffee. Junk food. Spicy food. Fermented food. Take green vegetables. Drink juice. Eat fruits. Drink 7-8 glass of water in a day. It can be myofacial pain. Still to rule out any pain generator from spine you should get spine mri done. With exercises n medications you will be better.

1. Thera-Band Shoulder Scapular Retraction- Grasp the band between your hands with slight tension. Keep our elbows bent 90° and pinch your shoulder blades together. Hold & slowly return. 2. Thera-Band Shoulder Shrug- Stand on the middle of the band and grasp both ends by your side, taking up the slack. Keep your elbows straight and lift your shoulders upward. Hold and slowly return. TIP: Avoid bending your elbows to complete the motion.
