I am married for last 19 years but not conceived once ov and sperm both are nil so what should we do.

Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MBBS

I am married for last 19 years but not conceived once ov and sperm both are nil so what should we do.
Both partners need to be investigated in detail for the problem. Nil sperms can b due to either blockage of tubes (problem in transport of sperms) or due to problem in production of sperms (testicular failure). If it a transport issue then sperms can b taken out from testicles and pregnancy can occur with ICSI (test tube baby) and if nil sperms are due to production issue then also this procedure can b tried (chances are low) or donor sperms can b used. Consult a fertility expert.

There is not much role of progesterone except very small role in case you had bleeding or spotting. Otherwise it is a very much overused medicine in India. It's advisable to take it only if you had bleeding.

Hello I think you should continue with ayurvedic management and simultaneously go for histopathological examination to rule out the cause. Its report will give direction to the treatment.

Hello, As the intercourse was protected and you had your menses on time, pregnancy is unlikely and scanty menses can be stress induced, which is common.

Shea Butter For Skin - Why It Is So Good?

Shea butter is derived from the nuts of Karite trees (also known as Mangifolia) – which is predominantly found in many parts of Africa. It is sourced out in the form of a nutty oily substance and when the nuts are crushed, boiled and fermented, it leaves behind a light colored fat, commonly referred to as Shea butter.

Shea butter is edible and is used in a wide range of culinary cuisines across the globe. Shea butter may be refined or unrefined. It is a stock house of essential vitamins and minerals and finds many applications. The butter is beneficial for your health, skin and hair. Many health-care products available in the market today contain Shea butter too. It is also considered as a super food for your skin and has enough essential fatty acids and vitamins that boost your skin health. We have listed down some of its benefits for the skin:

  1. Sun Screen- Shea butter protects against the ultraviolet radiations of the sun and can act as a natural deterrent for the exposure. It is also the best bet for your skin during winter and moisturizes your skin to a great degree.
  2. Heals Skin Spots- Shea butter has remarkable healing properties and is used as a base in many medicinal ointments. It is effective in the treatment of scars and skin blemishes. It is also beneficial for chapped skin and fights effectively against skin pigmentation.
  3. Anti-Ageing Properties- Shea butter has amazing skin tightening properties and stimulates the production of collagen. The vitamin A levels in it can keep the skin supple and nourished. The butter also soothes your dry skin and brings out the natural glow.
  4. Baby Care- Shea butter is a natural moisturizer and basically, has no chemicals in it. Thus it is an excellent baby care product and is safe for the sensitive skin of your babies. It can also be used as an after bath lotion or can be used against diaper rash. It also hydrates your baby’s skin and retains the water content.
  5. Lip Care- Cold months can be especially harmful for your lips. Shea butter is easily absorbable and can moisturize your skin and lips during the cold winter seasons easily. It acts as a natural lip balm and can protect your lips from dry weather. It also greatly benefits chapped lips symptoms.
  6. Restores Skin Elasticity- Shea butter restores the elasticity of the skin and can help in maintaining an even skin tone. It acts as a natural toner and improves the flexibility of the skin. As a result, your skin appears supple and hydrated at all times. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Hi PCOS may lead to infertility to some extent. But you should not be worried now. You need to investigate if any hormonal imbalance is there or not and take treatment accordingly.

I had itching, swelling and redness problem in vagina. I used flyover on. Vagina ,the swelling and redness problem is more but sometimes I feel itching and the discharge from vagina is different (yellowish. What should I use to get these two problems solved?

BHMS, DEMS
Homeopath, Pune
Hello Lybrate User, Different types of infections may cause itching or an abnormal discharge in the vagina. Abnormal discharge is characterized by abnormal color (yellow, green), and odor. It is associated itching or irritation. Causes include - Infections spread during sexual contact. These include chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis. Vaginal yeast infection, caused by a fungus. Normal bacteria that live in the vagina that overgrow, causing a gray discharge and fishy odor. This is called bacterial vaginosis (BV). These are few reasons behind vaginal discharge and redness and itching. Follow this tips - * Keep your genital area clean and dry when you have vaginitis. Make sure to seek help from health care provider for the best treatment. * Avoid soap and just rinse with water to clean yourself. Soak in a warm but not hot bath may help your symptoms. Dry thoroughly afterward. * Avoid using hygiene sprays, fragrances, or powders in the genital area. Use pads and not tampons while you have an infection. * Allow more air to reach your genital area. Wearing loose-fitting clothes and not wearing panty hose. Wearing cotton underwear (rather than synthetic), or underwear that has a cotton lining in the crotch. Cotton increases air flow and decreases moisture buildup. * Know how to properly clean their genital area while bathing or showering. Wipe properly after using the toilet -- always from front to back. Wash thoroughly before and after using the bathroom. Along with that take homeopatic treatment. When a woman experiences no relief from external treatments, a homeopathic remedy to balance the vital force will help the particular infection. If you want to take a homeopathic treatment consult me privately. Take care.
