If breast is not totally dried and stopped taking medicine, put baby on breast frequently to suck. It may be helpful.

If hearing is normal then, problem is cosmetic. Consult plastic surgeon better. But get audiometry done to confirm state of hearing ability.

9 years boy use to sleep heavily and also he is not so active. Suggest me what to do. His daddy is fits patient he also eat anything which ever sees even gulabjamun mix and also like roasted gram or cooking grams etc etc what is the remedy for this kindly suggest me.

Sir, my baby girl is of 4 months 10 days old. She got two doses of rotavirus vaccine namely rotavac and rotasure at 6 weeks and 10 weeks respectively. The third dose which was due on 14 weeks was refused by paediatrician of military hospital he said the rotavac vaccine is now not require for baby. Kindly consult can I get the medicine from other paediatrician or was it ok with 2 doses. Thank you

Rotavac or rotasure both vaccines have three doses at 6,10 & 14 weeks so get it done by other pediatrician. Only rotarix vaccine has 2 doses.

Whats the maximum amount of or valporate sodium that can be given to 2 year old baby of 15 kg weight for controlling spasms / fits? Doctor is currently giving 5 ml twice a day. I am concerned whether that is less as it was same amount when baby was 10 kg. I thought amount should increase with weight.

If fits are controlled, no reason to worry.It's doctors job and he will do it sincerely, doctors are trained to deal with illness in appropriate way . If you take up on yourself to monitor drug doses and his medical condition, it will be very difficult to bear tension for you. You must have faith in your doc, if you worry something,please talk to him first.

I am suffering from chronic insomnia associated with ADHD. I lack concentration in almost everything. If someone is discussing a topic or if a teacher is explaining something I can't understand anything. Also I am unable to sleep from past 6 months. How can this be cured? Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development. Here’s how to help yourself overcome sleeping problems: •Buy an egg timer. Using a tangible instrument like an egg timer helps keep your family on track with bedtime schedules. •Commit to a set schedule. Make sure that you go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning, including weekends. Staying up later on weekend nights and wake up later the next morning just makes your weekdays more difficult. If you are fighting fatigue despite the set schedule, you might need to increase your sleep time. Remember that younger children do need more sleep than older children. •Remove sources of stimulation. During the hour you get ready for bed, turn off the TV, music, computers, and video games. Don’t engage in arguments or initiate any rough play. This is an hour that should be very peaceful, That means that parents also need to be peaceful — no arguing with each other or the children. •Use a reward system. Give yourself stars, or stickers that can be traded in the next morning for a small reward. These rewards come when expected actions, like brushing teeth, are completed on time. Rewards may also be earned by staying in bed after lights-out. •Keep the house quiet. During the bedtime preparation and once you are in bed, keep the house quiet and calm. It’s a good idea to keep your voices down and turn down TV and music. •Return calmly to bed. Even with a reward system and a cozy bed, you might still want to get up. Return to bed without indulging in talking, arguing, threatening , or any other energizing activity. •Allow a full hour to get ready for bed. Once you have your egg timer, you can use it to count down the hour you need to wind down. Here’s how to break down the hour: oFirst 30 minutes: Set the egg timer for 30 minutes. This period of time is for hygiene — bathing, brushing teeth, and putting on pajamas. ONext 15 minutes: Set the egg timer for 15 minutes. This period of time is for a relaxing activity, such as reading a book, doing some relaxation exercises, or practicing deep breathing. OFinal 15 minutes: Set the timer for 15 minutes. This is for getting into bed (and staying there). In bed, there should be some sort of ritual between the parent and the child. Consider reading a favorite book, snuggling, praying, identifying good things that happened that day, telling a favorite story, or some other soothing and affectionate activity. Lights go out at the last “ding.” •Wake up gently. You need a good plan for waking The “bugle call” approach can actually set you up for a day-long spiral of ill temper. Instead, try a gentle action, such as opening the blinds or listening to a calm music and getting up. •Build in getting-ready time. You may need a morning schedule that is just as generous in time and structure as their pre-bed ritual. A chaotic rush to get out the door sets the wrong tone for the day. •Limit Caffeine and stimulants late in the day and Be Active. Caffeine and other stimulants consumed too close to bed time will keep you tossing and turning all night. The same goes for taking stimulant prescription medications too late in the day. •Exercise. Not only is exercise beneficial for your overall health, but it plays a very big role in helping you sleep and feel better. However, it is not recommended to workout or engage in any major exercise too close to bed either. It can actually have the opposite effect in helping you achieve the rest you desire. Try and get regular exercise during the day or very early evening to avoid being wired at night. Regards,

Foods Which Can Make Your Child Healthy!

It is often difficult for most of us to make your kids eat healthy food and keeping them away from junk and unhealthy food is a much bigger task. It is always easy for them to finish off a packet of chips than a cup of vegetables or fruits. Read on to know some of the healthiest foods that your kid should be biting into.

  1. Dairy products: These are a great source of proteins, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and other minerals. In addition, yogurt provides good bacteria. Milk and yogurt can also be included into smoothies which will also give them a blend of some fruits. Butter can be used in toasts and sandwiches as these foods are loved by children. You can replace plain milk with milkshakes, they are tastier and the children love them.
  2. Soups: These are another great source of nutrition, be it chicken or vegetables. They can be a good evening snack and not just prevent the evening hunger pangs but also come packed with a good amount of nutrition and hydration.
  3. Fruits: Each fruit contains different ingredients. Pick fresh seasonal fruits and incorporate them into your child’s diet as they hold a good amount of nutrients. Fruits provide a good supply of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and good sugars.
  4. Whole grains: Try a brown bread instead of white, replace refined flour pizza base with atta pizza base and white pasta with wheat pasta. These whole grains provide a lot more fiber and nutrition compared to the refined flours. The idea again is to let the kids eat any of them but on a rotational basis, so that benefits from all foods are derived.
  5. Vegetables: Get creative when getting the kids to eat vegetables and green leafy vegetables. From soups to salads to curries, try to rotate vegetables, and like fruits, use seasonal ones. They also have chlorophyll which helps improve their energy levels and reduce fatigue.
  6. Fish: One of the best sources of protein and omega-3 fatty acids, it helps in brain development and building immunity in children, making them less prone to illnesses.
  7. Nuts: While walnut is a well-known brain food, almonds are amazing for the skin and hair growth. Pecans are a good source of nutrients too. The rich oils in the nuts help fight diseases and are a great source of energy. Substituting the sugar candy with any of the nuts is a great way to indulge them in healthy snacking.
  8. Eggs: Whatever form, boiled, fried, scrambled, let the child indulge in their choice of eggs. A good source of protein which is very essential for hair, skin, and nails, try to squeeze in 4 eggs a week in your child’s diet.

Ensure these things find a way into the kid’s plate. In addition, some junk or fried stuff is always allowed!
