Keep a gap of minimum 3 mths before planning your next pregnancy. Ovulation days are 14 days before the next expected period date. So for a cycle of 28 days, it falls on 14th day of cycle, for a cycle of 30 days, it falls on 16th day of cycle. & so on. You should have intercourse from 2 days prior to ovulation to 2 days after ovulation. Those are the only fertile days in the whole cycle.

My wife is not having sexual feelings at all. She is a 35 years old with one child.

My wife is not having sexual feelings at all. She is a 35 years old with one child.
Still, talking about sex and working on your sexual relationship can be difficult, even when you've enjoyed great intimacy. These ideas can help. ? Pick neutral territory for a conversation. To help make it easier for your partner to open up, don't approach the topic in bed. Paget advised keeping the conversation simple -- ask just a few questions so your partner doesn?t feel overwhelmed or attacked. Start by telling your partner you enjoy having sex with her and ask what you can do to help her enjoy it more. ? Ask about any stress or other concerns that might be keeping her from feeling pleasure. As experts at Harvard Medical School point out, physical desire can be enough to lead to arousal, sex, and orgasm in men, but the sexual response for women is often more complex. Her motivation for sex may be to feel close to you. If an emotional connection is lacking because of relationship concerns, mental health problems, stress, or some other reason, her desire for sex may lessen. ? Be an unselfish lover. Are you having sex in ways she wants or that keep her interested, asked Paget? Don?t focus solely on your own needs. Encourage her to tell you what feels good to her. Maybe there's something about your sex life that makes her uncomfortable or there's something she wants to try but is embarrassed to mention. Be open to what she has to say. ? Help her relax. If your partner says sex is painful, discuss ways you can help her relax before sex. Perhaps draw a warm bath for her before meeting in the bedroom. Using lubricants and trying different positions may also help. ? Let her know you find her attractive. Show her that she's desirable. Make it a point to compliment her more often -- not just during foreplay, but also at random times when you aren't trying to initiate sex. ? Find other ways to show support. If you know that she's under a great deal of stress at work, take on some of her household responsibilities so that you can enjoy more time just being together.

I am 23 years old, past 1 month I have continues periods problem, heavy stomach pain and back pain.
Medical conditions that could be the cause of abnormal menstrual bleeding include: *infection *ovarian cysts *thyroid functioning etc. I suggest a visit with your gynaecologist is the first step in determining the cause of your prolonged menstrual bleeding. Stomach pain and back pain could be associated with prolonged menstrual bleeding.

Breast changes happen only after pregnancy, older age, breast feeding or hormone therapy. Though nipples may look puffy during oral stimulation, it is temporary, and does not have lasting effect.

Hello, Avoid sex completely hence till 16 weeks gestation for chances of threatened abortion and also after 34 weeks to decrease chances of preterm labour and infections after PPROM. So you may practice from 16th -33rd week of pregnancy and with man on top or side to side positions, which are generally comfortable to the woman. Regards

Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency: Causes and Symptoms

Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency: Causes and Symptoms

Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency or EPI is also known as pancreatic deficiency, a disorder where the pancreas is unable to produce sufficient amount of enzymes that are required to digest food. The pancreatic enzymes help to break down and absorb nutrients from the food in the small intestine. So, this disease causes nutritional deficiencies.

Causes of Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency :

This condition is generally caused as a complication of other diseases because EPI develops only as a result of severe damage to the pancreas. The following reasons can cause EPI:

  1. Inflammation of the pancreas: After surgery in the pancreas, stomach or the intestines, there may be inflammation in the pancreas as a post-surgical complication. A high content of triglyceride fat in the blood can also cause pancreatic inflammation and hinder the secretion of the enzymes.
  2. Chronic Pancreatitis: In this disease, the pancreatic ducts are swollen and blocked and so the digestive enzymes cannot be passed into the small intestine. This condition is often caused by a heavy consumption of alcohol.
  3. Cystic Fibrosis: The digestive fluids and enzymes become thick and sticky and block the passageways of the pancreas and other organs like the lungs and the kidneys. This can obstruct secretion and passage of enzymes afterwards.
  4. Shwachman-Bodian-Diamond syndrome or SBDS: SBDS is an autosomal recessive genetic condition where enzyme producing pancreatic cells is not formed properly. This rare disorder causes a number of associated disorders like bone marrow diseases, skeletal defects and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.

Symptoms of Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency:

Symptoms of EPI often appear in the middle stages of the disease when the process of absorption of nutrients has already been affected. The common warning signs are:

  1. Digestive problems like gas, diarrhea and indigestion because the food remains mostly undigested.
  2. Severe and frequent stomach pain in the lower abdominal region
  3. Greasy stools due to the excretion of undigested fat
  4. Rapid loss of weight and body mass due to malabsorption of nutrients
  5. Constantly feeling bloated and full even if you have not eaten anything
  6. A general sense of fatigue and exhaustion
  7. Excessive bleeding from small wounds because protein deficiencies hamper blood clotting
  8. Pain in the muscles and bones
  9. Increased susceptibility to infections of the body system
  10. Anemia
  11. Joint pains
  12. Abnormal swelling of the limbs or edema

Here is Why You Must Protect Your Ojas

Here is Why You Must Protect Your Ojas

Your Ojas is your protection and health shield

Immunity in Ayurveda is linked to good digestion, a balanced endocrine system, proper functioning of the liver and a strong agni or metabolism. It's also strongly connected to a subtle essence known as ojas, which means vigor. According to Ayurveda, the strength of your ojas has a bearing on the influences and factors (both external and internal), which cause you to suffer from any health problem. By protecting your ojas, you boost your body's immune system and protect you from every external or internal harms.

There are times when the protection of this subtle essence becomes vital and these are:

- Periods of recuperation
- Stressful situations
- Period between seasons
- Cold and flu period
- Times of rejuvenation
- Drastic change in your routine
- Major life changes like having a baby or divorce

How to go about protecting your ojas and boosting your immunity levels?

1. When it comes to boosting your immunity and fortifying your ojas through diet, garlic is a very useful food. It provides natural support to your body's immune system by kindling your agni, eliminates destroys natural toxins, ensures your body temperature is at an optimal level, improves the functioning of the lungs and as well as removes excess kapha (one of the three energies or doshas) from your body.

2. The adoption of certain fruitful Ayurvedic therapies such as yoga, pranayama and meditation can help in supporting the quality of your ojas, thereby improving your immunity. Although these practices come with diverse benefits, all of them aid in cultivating presence, clearing up your nadis (channels in the body), relieve stress and digest ama (toxins).

3. There are also certain herbs that are known to support your immune system and encourage proper function of the immune system. Herbs like Ashwaganda, guduchi, neem and holy basil ensures a balanced immune system, rendering you with an optimal health.

Is it safe to practice oral sex with your partner? If no then how to make it safe?

MBBS, MD Psychiatry, DNB Psychiatry

It's completely safe to have oral sex if you ensure hygiene of your private parts and genitals because infected genitals may causes infections of oral cavity and vice versa. Oral sex is an unnatural way of having sex, but it is a personal preference provided both partners involved agree to it.

Paralysis Of Vagina - Things You Must Know!

Paralysis Of Vagina - Things You Must Know!

We all know that our intimacy plays an essential role in how we feel about ourselves and how others perceive us. But what happens when one is stuck with paralysis, what’s the effect of this event on our sexual image and performance?

  1. Paralysis impacts a woman’s sexuality because it changes the physical functioning, sensation and response.
  2. Apart from all the life changing things that happen post-paralysis, women are also left with a great emotional and sometimes, a physiological burden. They wonder if they can have sex again, and whether it’s possible to get pregnant and have babies.
  3. Paralysis doesn’t affect physical attraction and the desire for sex. In fact, in many cases, though not all, sexual pleasure is also possible as sexuality in women living with paralysis is less affected than in men.

Physiological changes

  • Most women with paralysis have no physiological changes that prevent them from having sex.
  • But some women who are paralysed from the waist down or neck down may suffer from paralysis of the vagina.
  • In this condition, the nerves that feed the vagina become completely dead, leaving a woman with no sensation in her genitals.
  • These women are unable to experience the feeling of having penetrative sex or oral or manual stimulation of the genitals or very little.
  • Sexual touch and pleasure can sometimes be experienced by women due to the vagus nerve which bypasses the spine.
  • The woman thus, has to re-learn other ways of enjoying physical closeness with her partner. It is also often seen that loss of sensation in the genitals is offset by an abundance of sensation in other parts of the body like the neck or just above the point of paralysis.
  • Women also have to be trained differently to enjoy penetrative sex by say inserting a finger into their vaginas during penetration as otherwise, they are unable to experience the feelings during penetration due to a paralysed vagina.

Other problems usually found in women with paralysis are

  1. Autonomic dysreflexia or sudden high blood pressure due to spinal cord paralysis at the time of sexual activity.
  2. Many women also experience a loss of vaginal muscle control and most are unable to produce enough vaginal lubrication during sex due to the interruption in normal nerve signals from the brain to the genital area.
  3. Muscle loss can’t be corrected but lubrication can be taken care of by using water-based lubricants like K-Y jelly.
  4. Also, low sex drive is common among women with paralysis.
  5. Viagra has been clinically tested on women with spinal cord injuries and it’s been reported to be effective in promoting sexual arousal and sensation during intercourse.

Orgasm

  1. A woman with paralysis can experience normal orgasm during sex if there is some pelvic denervation, but in women, with paralysed vaginas, a normal orgasm doesn’t seem very likely though researchers are trying to explore more.
  2. Some researchers think that paralysed women retain an ability to orgasm due to a ‘reflex’ that requires no brain input. Research also indicates that ability to achieve orgasms is independent of neurological impairment.
  3. What happens more often is that paralysed women quit trying to have an orgasm because they lack or have limited sensation in the genital area.
  4. Research also suggests that these women can achieve orgasm using an FDA approved clitoral vacuum suction device to treat female orgasmic dysfunction. The device works by increasing blood flow, and improves engorgement of the clitoris and vaginal lubrication and thus enhances orgasm response. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a sexologist.

No way, this is useless. Medicines may or may not be needed. All men/women are different in their sexuality and health. You need to go for check up with sexologist to know the cause and get guidance/treatment for improvement. If you value your sexual health and want to enjoy quality sex/healthy child in marriage then understanding and learning about sexuality is needed. As we all believe that what we know by hearsay or porn watching is great but in fact what we all know and understand is only penetration and that's not quality sex.
