I am 47 years old often I get severe neck pain and headache which lasts for days please advice me.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

The best way to boost your immunity is to take a multivitamin, a vitamin C and a fish oil tablet daily. Exercise daily. Eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water. Avoid alcohol, nicotine and illegal substances.

Massage with your thumbs from the midpoints of your shoulder blade towards back of your head upto the lower edge of the ear on your either side. Use oil or water. Move only upwards only. Afterwards do arm rotation forward and backward slowly.

Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days avoid junk food, oil, maida, sugar has to be cut down very much. Realise that foregoing these items are better than the pain.

I am suffering from back pain due to long sitting in the office what should I do to cure from this pain.
Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hello, this is Dr. Mathur from new delhi, welcome to lybrate. As far as your backache is concerned, the most common causes of back ache are postural or weakening of bone due to low vitamin d. Please also let me know if you have any fever, loss of weight or appetite, which would indicate an infective pathology. Is the pain confined to the back or does it radiate to the legs as well? please get an x ray dorsal spine ap and lateral view and the following blood tests fasting: vitamin d, uric acid, calcium, phosphorous, alkaline phosphatase and revert back with investigations reports. In the meantime you can start tab zinase d 3 times a day after meals, tab pantocid 40 mg's once a day before breakfast and tab corcium k2 once a day in the evening. Make sure you're not allergic to any of these medicines before starting them.

Is it slip of one vertebra over other or disc slip. If it is prolapsed disc conservative management with rest can take care of 90% of patients. If it is spondylolisthesis then physio is the first line of management.

I am a sportsman 47 years old, regular cyclist .yesterday I went for cycling and started raining but kept on doing for 13 kms. And did cycling very hard while raining too When I reached back home my lower back neck started paining , I couldn' move my face for 3 to 4 days I think cervical problem May I know the precaution and cure.

u did cycling against the air so do hot fermentation and tk muscle relaxant medicine its overstrain of muscle do that u feel better and then do slightly turn ur neck in all direction and do spine extension in gradually process then increase according ur comfortable ness . avoid strain nw and toward bending

Hi, it may b due to cervical spondylitis cause pain in neck and adjoining back muscle. You should avoid taking pillow while sleeping. Take homoeo medicine: @ lachenenthes200-6 pills, thrice a day. @ arnica mont200-6pills, thrice a day. If possible go for exercise for cervical spondylitis. Take care.

This is cervical pain (neck pain) If you keep ice that would help and along side you can do hot water fermentation. You shall use cervical collar which would help you to reduce the radiating pain ie. Due to the nerve compression.
