I am now 26 year old I am not gaining my weight. And I have bad habit of mastiburation. So does that causes problem.

I am now 26 year old I am not gaining my weight. And I have bad habit of mastiburation. So does that causes problem.
Masturbation may be done at intervals of 35 days or more than 35 days to prevent any adverse effects on the body although doing it once or twice a week is bearable. During these activities, many important minerals, hormones, and fluids responsible for the following are rapidly lost. It is a fact that just as our body requires food for energy and so whenever we are hungry we eat something, in the same way lust for sex keeps our mind hungry and this lust leads us to activities like masturbation or watching porn. We say that sex improves health but masturbation takes life from a person, steadily. Sex is with a partner and it's best with someone that you are in relationship with. Lust is an entity in itself and it will keep coming to steal your energy, if you keep feeding it. There is a much bigger picture here. You are giving away and losing something that is better to protect. This energy also helps with manifesting positive things in a person's life. It's very precious to just give away. That's why the lust comes to take it from you. Masturbation and porn addictions lead to shame, guilt, and worry. Effects of excessive masturbation on the genital parts -------" -----wet dreams or nocturnal emissions -----erectile dysfunction (ed) -----small size of penis -----incontinence -----discharge of semen along with urine -----premature ejaculation (only 10-15 minutes instead of the normal 35-40 minutes) -----enlargement of the testicles -----pain in the testicles -----involuntary urination in sleep------------------------ effects on the whole body" -----phthisis - wasting of tissues -----boils on the body -----early exhaustion -----physical and mental lethargy - lack of energy.

What You Should Know About Spondyloarthritis?

Hand Surgery, M.S. (Orthopaedics

What You Should Know About Spondyloarthritis?

The bones and joints orchestrate very well with each other for smooth movements of various joints and the spine. However, due to various reasons, some identified and others unknown, there could be inflammation of the areas where the bones join the muscles leading to impaired movement. The range of motion could be reduced or it could be painful, thereby, limiting movement. Spondyloarthritis includes a group of inflammatory diseases that involves the bones and joints and enthuses which are areas where the ligaments and tendons attach to the bones. This causes conditions like plantar fasciitis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis and reactive arthritis. The term spondyloarthritis is a blanket term to describe any of the above-mentioned conditions.

Read on to know a little more in detail about it:

Causes: While the exact etiology is not identified for sure, most patients with spondyloarthritis have an autosomal dominant gene (HLA-B27). Chronic infections could trigger the onset of the disease too.

Symptoms:

1. In all forms of spondyloarthritis, there is always inflammation of the spine, joints and entheses. If the fingers or toes are involved, there could be swelling leading to what are typically known as 'sausage digits'.

2. There is sacroiliitis which is inflammation of the joint between the pelvis and the spine, and spondylitis which is inflammation of the joints between the spines. 3. Family history and autosomal dominant gene.

Diagnosis:

A detailed medical history and physical examination form the cornerstone of a confirmed diagnosis. In addition, radiographic examination and diagnostic blood tests also could be done to confirm the diagnosis. Radiographs, especially, of the spine and the low back show typical changes including sacroilitis in suspected cases of spondyloarthritis. If the spine does not show these changes, but there is a high likelihood of spondyloarthritis, then MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) can be used to confirm the diagnosis.

As a final step, a blood test for the HLA-B27 gene can also be confirmatory. However, it is not true that a person with the gene will definitely develop the disease.

Treatment:

  1. The most important aspect of treatment is the use of pain medications and anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which help manage pain and inflammation.
  2. Corticosteroid injections may sometimes be given directly into the joint spaces or the membranes to provide quick relief of these symptoms.
  3. ESWT / RSWT has a definite role to cure enthesopathy. Plantar fasciitis, and achillodynia can be cured with ESWT. Even small joints of hand and feet are amenable to treatment with RSWT. It is nonoperative and noninvasive treatment and has no side effects.
  4. Very rarely, stronger drugs such as methotrexate or sulfasalazine may be used.
  5. Another set of drugs known as TNF-blockers (tumor necrotizing factor blockers) are also shown to be highly effective in controlling the pain of the spine and joints.
  6. In very severe cases, surgery may be required to correct joint damages or correct severe degenerative changes.
  7. Exercise plays a very vital role in controlling the issue and improving range of motion. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

Hi I am a 27 year old male. Can you please suggest a knee friendly 20 minute cardio workout to boost my metabolism, keep the heart rate up and reduce lower body fat to do at home.(I don't want to go out and jog or run or walk) I tried yoga sun salutations, which requires forward bends and other complex poses which if not done properly injure my back severely. I also looked at rope skipping, but I have learn that over the long run these full body jump workouts put a lot of strain on knees which damage cartilage and gums. And hence can you please suggest a knee safe workout to boost my metabolism. I want to stick to your choice of cardio as an experienced doctor for my lifetime. Thanks in advance.

If you have any knee problem, then the best form of workout will be walk only for you, that too at a moderate pace. Neither brisk walk nor too slow. Rest all exercises would some how or the other put pressure on your knees. If you don't want to go out, walk on treadmill for 20 minutes at maximum speed of 6.5. Besides this, you can maybe indulge into light aerobics exercise under guidance.

Hi when we have hypo thyrodism can we have spinach in our diet? As it is rich in protein?

Hi when we have hypo thyrodism can we have spinach in our diet? As it is rich in protein?
Lybrate-user, spinach is not very rich in protein, a small cup of spinach gives about 1 g of protein. Raw vegetables contain fiber, vitamins (b complex, vit c etc) and some protein and fat. Water content is very high. In hypothyroidism it can be consumed. Thanks.
