Avoid alcohol and heavy meals, take small n frequent meal, take ppi regularly if it works well n good otherwise go for surgery.

As you said it looks like a hernia, you can confirm it by ultrasound. If it is hernia need surgery.

Take fibrous diet, avoid non veg. Use stool softener, this may solve your problem otherwise you may need surgery.
