Hi. I am suffering from constant pain in my anus in passing stool. Please recommend.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Hyderabad
As per your history it appears you have acute fissure in ano, please start taking more of leafy green vegetables and fruits along with plenty of water, avoid white bread and refined flour, non vegetarian food, and fried food items. You can try using xylocaine 5% ointment with an external applicator, always use this ointment 5-10 minutes prior to passing of stool, after passing stool sit in a basin containing warm water called seitz bath for 5 minutes. You could also apply the same ointment once again after this ritual, by this it prevents the nagging pain you may have. If no relief you are advised to see a surgeon or a proctologist for examination and for a possible anl dilatation procedure.

I'm 30 yes old male suffering from disease called deep vein thrombosis what is remedy.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Hyderabad
If you have been diagnosed to have dvt (deep venous thrombosis), you need to be treated actively by a surgeon or physician, you should be taking anticoagulants regularly for life time or until the condition settles. You should tell your treating doctor as to the nature of work you are doing so that doctor may advice you accordingly, meanwhile take plenty of oral fluids. As this is a serious condition immediate consultation is mandatory.

I am 28 years old male. I am having deep vein thrombosis with arthritis. I get genital ulcers with swelling of legs and dark sessions over legs even small pustules with puss. Is it curable and I got diabetic recently with no family history of diabetes, is it due to the use of wysolone?

Dear, I sympathize with you for your condition, being a diabetic you can develop multiple abscess all over, more so when you are on wysolone as it brings down the immunity status to a much lower degree, in fact being a diabetic you have a low immunity and adding wysolone will have further compounding effect. I am not sure why you developed dvt, it may be due to your sedentary habits due to your arthritis issue could be one and the main reason, however you have conflicting problems where you need to consult an able physician right away where your wysolone has to be stopped right away and you need an alternate medicine for arthritis, and you should be on long acting anticoagulants for your dvt.

Dear sir or madam I am 26 year old male. I am suffering from. Anal problem. 2 months back the blood falling from anus while going motion. And I took treatment for that now days it is cleared no blood falling. My question is, in my anal some pain is there while sat on chairs. And also swelling is there while I was in motion. I consult a doctor a week a back, a doctor told some problem is there like fissure. What treatment should I take?. Which types of food should I take? What about non veg. Please give me answer. How avoid these type of disease by foods. Thanks by Sukesh.

Dear, I can understand your problem very well, it appears you have not consulted a surgeon, you might have seen a general practitioner hence you do not have a diagnosis. Blood in stool is common in piles and also in anal fissure, there is a difference in presentation in both above condition, if it is piles you have bright red color blood prior to passing stool, if it is a fissure then blood is mixed with stool or you may have blood after you pass stool, you need to verify it yourself. At times you may have both conditions simultaneously, therefore a detailed physical examination is necessary by a qualified and experienced surgeon, if it a fissure you will not have a swelling while passing stool. You may be having dragging sort of pain in your anal area which can be due to above condition. Regarding diet: my suggestion is take plenty of green leafy vegetables, fruits, plenty of water, avoid breads, oil fried items i. E. Low residue diets. I would prefer you avoid non vegetarian foods but if in case you cannot avoid try to add vegetables to the meats and consume.

After passing my stool I had a severe anal pain and if I eat something then also I feel a pressure of stool.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Hyderabad
According to your history it appears you have a fissure in ano, which needs to be confirmed by your doctor, if in case your doctor after external exam tells you that you do not have a fissure in ano he will perform a proctoscopic examination and figure out the cause of pain and suggest treatment. As far as your sensation that you need to go to a toilet after eating is a feature in some normal people it is due to a simple condition called gastro colic reflex, for which no treatment is required, this is seen in high performers or stressful individuals, you only require will power to control. Gradually you will overcome from this problem.

You have all the symptoms of an enlarged prostate most likely a benign (non cancerous) growth. Get an ultra sound abdomen and pelvis with full urinary bladder, and repeat the test after passing urine, called post voiding test which will show how much urine is left out after you normally pass this gives a fair idea of growth of prostate, my opinion is to see a urologist right away and follow his advice.

My sister is 25 years old has motion problem she is bleeding during motion after consulting Dr, they has said less fibre content in her body. She is taking fruits and drinking lots of water inspite of that she is not getting motion freely. So, please help her to recover from bleeding.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery

You have not mentioned if she has pain while passing stool, find out if she is afraid of passing stool because of pain, if that be the case she most probably has a fissure in ano, which requires anal dilatation under general anesthesia, if fissure is ruled out by proctologist, she needs to have bowel training, find out if she is used to consume cathartics like laxative tablets or medicines in such situations she has to be weaned off from such medications gradually as she becomes dependent. In case she is employed and toilet facilities are not available at the place of work she should change her job, she should quit the habit of voluntarily preventing herself from relieving/ or emptying her bowels.

Whenever I sit down, I feel pain inside my rectum. This happens more often after my stool. It feels like I've to go to washroom again. Stools are semi-formed & rounded shaped lump. 7 days ago I had blood on my stools too. Whenever I go to washroom it is more of gas passing than stool passing. Whenever I sit down I feel pressure on my anus and rectum. It feels urgency to go to washroom It is sometimes accompanied by vomiting. So it is very difficult for me to sit. I'm missing my college from last 2 months. Recently I had got UTI as EColi was found in my urine. I took up Levoflox tab. And there was high SGPT SGoT so I took Heptral tab. And everything was fine. But suddenly this rectum problem has started again. Suggest me a solution.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Hyderabad
By your history it appears that your rectal problem started after getting treated for urinary tract infection, for some the antibiotics you have used can cause enterocollitis due to destruction of healthy bacteria in the gut, as a result you may have the symptoms as noted by you. My suggestion is to take plenty of yogurt/butter milk, and take probiotics for a week, hopefully you will be alright. Failure to improve you need to consult gastroenterologist.

My cousin is suffering from severe cellulitis. Symptoms blood with stool and going to stool 5-8 time.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Hyderabad
Cellulitis is a medical term, if used by non medical person it may or may not suggest it as cellulitis. Considering he is right implies he has infection as the history is inconclusive i'm unaware if he is under treatment or not, if under treatment he has not been diagnosed correctly and is on wrong antibiotics which might have caused him to have blood in stools and passing frequently, drug induced. No history of fever, at times gram negative septicemia behaves like that. My advice is that patient should be hospitalized immediately and thoroughly investigated & treated.

I am suffering from bleeding from anus at the time of bathroom since 3 year, bleeding is irregular, please suggest me what can I medicine use to stop bleeding.

MBBS, MS - General Surgery
General Surgeon, Hyderabad
According to your history bleeding from anus is at the time of passing stool only, as there is no pain associated it doesn't look like you have a fissure in ano, you may be having piles which may be of first degree or second as your history is not that clear. My advice to you is to eat foods with high fiber content like lots of green vegetables, fruits, avoid refined foods with low fiber, like pasta, noodles, meats, etc. Drink plenty of water, inculcate good bowel habits, avoid constipation. As bleeding from any where is abnormal I advice you to undergo proctoscopic examination at the earliest by proctologist or a general surgeon.
