Hello lybrate user back pain due to acute disc prolapse is hazardous. No doubt continuous pain or repetitive low back pain &buttock pain can be relieved by rest. Because intradiscal pressure becomes low when patient is in lying position, pressure increases three times during standing and eleven times during sitting. Suggesting bed rest for acute low back pain is correct decision. Bedrest should not more than two weeks, bed rest on a firm mattress gives better pain relief. One thing remember that too long bed rest may lead to medical complications like bedsores, renal stones, respiratory problems, muscle atrophy, etc. Especially in old age patients. Bed rest combined with thermotherapy is still more effective.

Can somebody help me out how to cure plantar fasciitis? I'm suffering for 3 yes. Tried not & cold messages. Walked on my toes to stretch ligaments. Rolled ice cold water bottle in the affected region. Nothing is working.

You should take acupressure treatment and take biochemic calc flour 200x + mag phos200x 4 tab each thrice a day with warm water and take it 5 day's and consult private online.

Hello, Is there any history of injury or hurt to the area? Any underlying medical condition? Medication: Meantime, take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. Get back to me thereafter.

Get your vitamin d levels fasting and revert back, it may be low, also learn spinal extension exercises from a physiotherapist and do them 20 mins 3 times a day. Avoid prolonged sitting, forward bending and weight lifting.

This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear mcr chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back.

Hello, I am 27 years old male, I went for 22km trekking expedition. Next day while sneezing I felt a sudden pain wave through my left lower back. I took it casually and went to play soccer next day now I'm feeling it for past 3 days although the intensity is low-mild. I had similar back pain with high intensity around3 months back while picking up something from the floor. Went to see a doctor and foot x-rayed he told it's a sprain and have me passion killers it subsided in couple of days. Should I visit again to the doctor or it will cool down in a few days?

You have possibly sprained a ligament or joint capsule or a miscle strain in your back. First step is to take full rest for 2 to 3 days and get some pain killers from your local physician. Apply ice packs to painful area. If pain is not significantly better by then, you need to see a spine specialist for clinical evaluation.

Reason must be the prolonged sitting. Avoid long duration sitting, get up from your chair after every 30mins. Do gentle stretching of your back, mainly bend behind. Start doing basic core strengthening exercises. Avoid sedentary life style and weight gain.

-Do some quadraceps stretching exercise heel slides, ankle pumps exercises -most imp is to drink lots of water being dehydrated is also one of the cause for cramps in calf.

Hi soak 10 almonds over night in water. On the next day, peel off the skin, and blend the almonds in a blender with 1 cup of cow hot milk (or crush them in hot cow milk) and add a little bit of saffron, ginger and cardamon to it. Drink this every morning.

knee pain at this age is mostly due to osteoarthritis that is due to wear and tear of the joints Advice her not to over bend the knee, avoid squatting position. She should take calcium supplement. Taking akhroat is also good for joints consult in Homeopathy for medicine.

As per your symptom you may have spndndolytis. It will b confirmed by xray spine. 1st if you work conntinuous 3-4 hrs on laptop than avoid it take a break after an hour do neck exercise regularly. Take role of thin sheet under d neck instead of pillow. N your posture should b rt.

Hello lybrate-user, pain in leg is common at all ages. There are various causes of leg pain- cramps muscle spasm muscle fatigue nutritional deficiencies dehydration standing for long hours injuries medical conditions like arthritis, gout, dvt, restless leg syndrome, varicose veins, etc. One should try and find out the real cause of it for early treatment and control. Some temporary relief majors are - # ice fomentation - if leg pain is due to physical exertion or fresh injury. You can do it with an ice pack or put ice cubes in a normal plastic bag or zip lock bag n then cover this with a piece of cotton cloth for fomentation. # hot fomentation with hot water andhalf cup of epsom salt. It is a muscle relaxant and regulate nerve signals. Massage with hot oil is also relaxing. Regular exercise will also help. Advice on calcium intake is possible only after detail case history.
