Unfortunately there is no home remedy or medicine that you can use now. First visit a dentist for cleaning and polishing of the teeth to remove the plaque. Following that, brush twice a day. Also use a medicated mouth wash.

In morning, I get little thick jelly like saliva in my mouth. What is the cause? Do I need to worry?

In morning, I get little thick jelly like saliva in my mouth. What is the cause? Do I need to worry?
Saliva production is directly related to the activities in the mouth like chewing and speaking. Whenever there is some activity in the mouth it stimulates saliva production. Since during sleep there is no activity going on in the mouth, saliva production is reduced. Hence, the first saliva produced in the morning will be thicker in consistency. There is no reason to worry.

I am 35 yrs. I recently Quit Smoking It is been 60 days. Since the day I Quit I had a sore mouth. Which I thought are withdrawn symptoms. But few days back I started developing a irritation and had problem in consuming spicy food. I discovered my mouth has declared area where irritation was happening (reddish/oranges. Are these symptoms of Mouth Cancer.

Dear User, If you have quit smoking and not using any other form of tobacco then I could say that withdrawal of nicotine may include anxiety, tremors, restlessness, craving for tobacco/smoking, constipation, cough, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, impulsivity, fatigue, flu symptoms, mood swings, mouth ulcers, and increased dreaming. Cessation of nicotine usually increases eating and weight, decreases memory, decreases the ability to pay attention and concentrate on tasks, and decreased heart rate. Now among this symptoms, the thing which needs attention is mouth ulcer. You need to get it examined if it is an ulcer or not, and if ulcer is not healing then you may need further investigation. Apart from that none symptom might be due to nicotine. In that case your health professional needs to find other cause. So My suggestion is that you should see ENT surgeon first. And follow his/her advice.

When brushing your teeth, position the bristles at an angle of 45 degrees near the gum line. Both the gum line and the tooth surface should be in contact with the bristles. Brush the outer surfaces of the teeth using a back-and-forth, up-and-down motion, making sure to be done gently in order to avoid bleeding. To clean the inside surfaces of the teeth and gums, place the bristles at a 45-degree angle again and repeat the back-and-forth, up-and-down motion. Lastly, brush the surfaces of your tongue and the roof of your mouth to remove bacteria, which might cause bad breath.

I am 21 year old, I recently had severe tooth ache and dentist after x ray said, its bcz 1 of the wisdom teeth which is half grown outside gums and unable to come out completely as there's no space for it. He also said that I need to get all 4 teeth removed some day as there's no space and will cause much pain further. I was said its not immediately necessary to remove tooth but I can go for it when the pain gets worse. But surprisingly after few days the tooth ache has completely gone by itself and I have no other dental problem .what does this mean? Did my tooth grow normal? Do I need to take an x ray to confirm it inspite of no pain at all.

Dear Lybrate user, Pain associated with an erupting wisdom tooth may not be constant. The pain may disappear which does not suggest that the tooth may be erupting normally. It would best to get an x-ray done and consult a dentist. The X-ray would definitely help and avoid problems such as difficulty in opening mouth, infection in the erupting wisdom tooth area. Take care.

I wanna know is teeth whitening safe? Which is better uv light or charcoal teeth whitening?
First get cleaning and polishing of the teeth. If still you feel that they are yellow, you can do teeth whitening / bleaching. It is safe. Now a days even home kits are available. But please do any whitening procedure under dentist supervision. A drawback of this procedure may however be an increase in sensitivity of the teeth.

Dear Lybrate user, if you're facing indigestion issues or nasal drip, you should consult a gastroenterologist and pulmonologist (respiratory specialist) in your area. You might need to modify your diet a little. The doctor might prescribe you medicines to get rid of this problem. Try to take your meals well in time and don't lie down for at least 1 hour after eating. You can try some homeopathic or ayurvedic treatments as well. First get the check up done, get to the root cause of your problem and pursue the treatment accordingly.

Hello, bad smell could be because of deposits on teeth surface or food lodged in between teeth. Visit a dentist and get your scaling and polishing done. Brush your teeth twice daily. Night brushing is very important. Floss regularly. Rinse after every meal. Visit dentist every 6 months.

Hello Lybrate user, using only toothpaste is not the solution for bad breath. Bad breath may be due to various reasons like deposits on teeth, less intake of water. First you should go for scaling n polishing. Brush twice daily, mouthwash at night, clean your tongue after brushing, drink plenty of water.

Hi I would suggest that just get the root canal done as of now So that your pain will stop forever. And will cost less And after a month or two Get the cap done Remember Don't forget the cap As the tooth can break without a cap In this way your expenses will get divided And also a proper treatment done Or another option is to get it done at government hospital or trust where charges would be minimum.

Hello Lybrate User, Bad breath is also known as Halitosis, foul smelling odor that seems to come from the mouth cavity. Self care technique can help to minimize bad breath, these techniques are as follows - a. use oral care products, like mouthwashes and toothpastes. b. proper oral care, brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day and use fluoride toothpaste. c. stimulate your salivary flow - prevent dry mouth with chewing gum or mints. d. eat fibrous fruits and vegetables. e. Brush your teeth occasionally with baking soda. e. stop smoking. f. Drink plenty of water. g. Take a dietary supplement - Vitamin C, D, E and B help to eliminate excess mucus and toxins naturally. h. Avoid alcohol. i. Clean your tongue daily. Along with that take Homeopathic treatment, the natural homeopathic remedies for bad breath, which are completely safe and no side effects. Wisdom tooth erupts anytime after 21 years of age. Please take an Xray of the tooth to determine exact position of wisdom tooth. *Sometimes when erupting there can be food accumulation between tooth and gums giving rise to pain. *if the position of tooth is also crooked then pain can arise. The personal hygiene habits followed by you are good. Keep it up! Maybe the food particles that are stuck in between your teeth have become hard and thus cannot be removed easily just with a brush. So, cleaning and polishing by dental professional will help you. Both your problems will be solved once you do cleaning. Also consider drinking at least 12-15 glasses of water a day.
