Please do a MRI of the lumbo-sacral joint to understand your problem. Also take Mag phos 12x - twice daily for next 2 weeks and revert back.

Dear Lybrate user For sciatica, -proper bed rest Hot Fomentation use L-S belt while walking (to eliminate pain & maintain posture) Avoid forward bending Avoid heavy weight lifting Postural care in sitting, walking,& lying position, also while watching tv or working on laptops. After few days, when your pain will get relieved you have to start some back care exercises.

Avoid all strain full activity your muscle is very weak take healthy diet and nutrition and do strength exercise in gradually process which makes your muscle strong. For rigidness take muscle relaxant medicine and heat fermentation or gentle massage. Otherwise take physiotherapy help.

Start with Physiotherapy treatment and use ankle strap. Don't sit on floor. Take Calcium and multivitamin with vitamin D 3 for 2 month

It is a common symptom for patients having Diabetic-neuropathy. Please check with your Doctor treating you for this. Take a dose of Hypericum 1 M and revert after 2 weeks.

I am suffering from disc problem.My MRI report shown that a gains is slightly curved. Doctor said that if it will not cure through medicine,operation will be done.This problem is from last one year and I am very afraid from operation.

Hello , If you are sure that you have disc problem, then you may avoid operation by doing a treatment with physiotherapy itself. Physio will give traction and other modalities, later he/she may start with exercises which even you can do it regularly to avoid further occurrence.

I am male and age is 31 years old. Six months back may be in gym lifting light weight next day I got severe pain in biceps. I taken the tablets for inflammation. Now two months back I was doing push ups and next day I got the same pain in biceps in my another hand. I taken the tablets. Now I was not doing exercise at all therefore I did some squats for my lower body. So Now when I sit like squat in toilet I feel pain in my one leg for 10 seconds. Thereafter I does not feel anything. I met physiotherapist and even other doctors they told its very normal in gym. But my legs and hands are working fine but when I stretch my hands backward I feel pain in lower biceps. I really don't understand why it happened in both the biceps at a interval time. Secondly why it is taking so much time in repairing because I am not able to go gym. I just checked in yahoo in a article for vitamin b12. Thereafter I went for blood test and the result was 139 PG/ml and normal is 174 -878. So my question is 1) is my vit b 12 is low and it is effecting my injuries ? 2) I am vegetarian so it may happen that I lack other nutrients ? 3) I am exercising but I do not get the result . So is it vit b 12. 4) What is the reason behind injuries of hand and legs 5) Why injuries takes lot of time in repairing.

Hi lybrate-user, * as you are a vegetarian vitamin b 12 deficiency is very common and go for wallnut, these wallnut contain lot of b 12 your deficiencies will fill up, * if your eating habits with lot of carbohydrates and doing exercises lot of calories will burn and acids are released into the muscular tissue this will cause pain, so go for more protein diet in food so that your muscular strength will be increased. * if your recently started workouts also pains will be there for contineous period of 6 months atleast. * increase your b complex in your food you can overcome with your problem.

Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Hi apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.

Immediate consult your physician. Also you need to follow certain dietary changes. About 80% of all kidney stones are composed of calcium and other minerals, usually a combination of calcium and oxalate. In some cases dietary adjustments help to prevent the recurrence of these types of stones. Increase fluid intake: this is the most important preventive measure for all patients who develop kidney stones. It hinders the formation of stones by diluting the urine. The biggest portion of calcium in the diet comes from milk and foods made from large amounts of milk, such as cheeses and yogurt, dark greeny vegetables. Too much may cause calcium stones. Sugar, sodium, and animal protein: it has been found that too much of these may also aggravate the development of calcium or calcium oxalate stones. A diet high in animal protein affects certain minerals in the urine that may promote the formation of kidney stones. Insoluble fiber also speeds up movement of substances through the intestine, so there will be less time for calcium to be absorbed. When vitamin c is used by the body, oxalate is produced. Dear lybrate-user do not worry about it may cause any problem in future as such do learn and practise strengthening and stretching exercises from neuro physiotherapist use firm hard and even mattress for sleep apply hot and cold water fomentation for thrice a day for 7 days regularly or do come back with detailed reports for further assistance best wishes.

Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the knee against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

Back pain can result from bad posture, a sudden jerky movement, a lumpy mattress or poor lifting techniques. It can also be caused by injury in a work place, by a sports accident or by muscular spasms. It often occurs during pregnancy or, because of decreased flexibility, as people get older. There are also many diseases and pathological conditions that can lead to back pain. These include abdominal or pelvic disease, anxiety, arthritis, cervical or lumbar spondylosis, dermatological problems, kidney disease, rheumatic conditions, tumours and scoliosis. Our modern, sedentary lifestyles have a profound effect on the development of back pain; indeed one of the most effective ways of preventing it is simply to stay active. An average adult in the India spends at least two hours a day in front of a computer screen or television set, and back problems can be triggered if they don’t sit properly. In an age of mobile phones and computer games, such troubles are increasingly inflicting children of school age as well. Top tips for back care: For back pain, better to see your Doctor sooner than later. Take regular exercise – your Doctor can say what’s right for you. Hours in one position can cause problems – avoid computer ‘hump’. During repetitive tasks, vary your rhythm and take frequent breaks. Adjust car seats and on long journeys, take regular breaks to stretch. Pace yourself with heavy work such as gardening – don’t risk a disc! Watch children’s posture – they shouldn’t carry bags on one shoulder or spend too long at a computer without breaks. Avoid strain when lifting, particularly small children and shopping. Your bed could be part of the problem. Seek Doctor advice on choosing a new one. Take a hot bath or shower, soaking in a hot tub, or using a heating pad, hot water bottle, or heat wrap that provides continuous, low-level heat are all ways to bring healing warmth to your lower back.
