Acne is a disorder of skin resulting due to blocking of pores of skin called pilosebaceous units (pilo- means related to hair and sebaceous- means related to sebum or oil). These pores contain hair follicles and oil secreating glands which lubricate the hairs and skin. When there is plugging of these pores, it leads to accumulation of sebum and bacteria begins to grow. Inflammation may set in in reponse to the bacterial growth


Causes of acne:

An increase of male sex hormone termed androgen in both boys and girls during puberty.

  • Hormonal changes related to birth control pills, before a menstrual period, during pregnancy.
  • Vitamin deficiency.
  • Oily cosmetics.
  • Pressure from sports helmet, backpacks, tight collars, etc
  • Environmental irritants.
  • Hard scrubbing of the skin.
  • Chronic constipation
  • Acne can run in families.
  • Stress does not cause acne but can make it worse.

Whiteheads: these appear when a pore is entirely blocked, trapping oil, bacteria, and dead skin cells causing a white appearance on the surface.

Blackheads: these materialize when a pore is only partially blocked, allowing the trapped oil, bacteria, and dead skin cells to slowly drain to the surface. The black color is not caused by dirt, but it a reaction of the skin’s own pigment, melanin reacting with the oxygen in the air.

Papules: these are small, inflamed, red, tender bumps with no head and are tender to touch. Pustules: this is similar to a whitehead, but is red-looking with white or yellow pus in the center.

Nodules: this is a severe kind of acne, in which the lesions are much larger, more painful, lodged deep within the skin and sometimes lasts for months, leaving scars.

Cysts: this is also a severe kind of acne and appears similar to a nodule, but larger than a pustule; the lesions are deep, pus filled, very painful and leave scars.

Homoeopathic treatment of hormones or lowered immunity or poor digestion or improper nutrition. Which attracts the bacterias and virus to cause skin lesions as immunity is low body is unable to defend itsself. So the homeopathic treatment aims to cure the internal turbulance or lower level of immune system and the cause behind the apparent disease. Tips to avoid acne:

  • Take a warm shower to soften your skin.
  • Clean skin very gently with a mild cleanser, avoid harsh scrubs.
  • Use oil and alcohol free cosmetics and facial products.
  • Clean all makeup at bedtime.
  • Avoid irritating your facial skin by rubbing or touching it too much
  • Men who have acne must shave vigilantly and gently.
  • Avoid sunburn or suntan.
  • Shampoo hair regularly.
  • Do not squeeze, scratch or pick pimples, it may lead to infection or scarring.
  • Eat a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Wash your pillowcase often and always use clean face towels to prevent bacterial re-infection.
  • Shower immediately after a workout since sweat when combines with skin oils can trap bacteria in your pores.
  • Use 2-3 tsp of dried basil leaves to 1 cup boiling water, let it cool and then apply to your skin. Let it dry and then clean with slightly warm water.
  • Paste made from mashed papaya with slight honey when used as a facial mask, will heal acne lesions.
  • Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day to detoxify your body.

Avoid spicy food items and not to eat junk food and we also need to avoid peanuts and potatoes in our daily diet and Take tablet Pan-D before breakfast on empty stomach for three months and always to take a gap of a week before starting it again only if necessary and I will suggest you to take injection vitcofol 2cc intramuscularly every week once for five pricks over the buttocks through a health professional

Sir she need to do hot fermentation 2 times along with back strengthen exercises daily twice 15 min in winter she need to have heavy cloths because it hurts in weak parts of body.

Essential Precautions During Postpartum Care!

The first six weeks after the baby is born is termed as the postpartum period. While this is a joyous phase for a mother, it requires healing and adjustments for the mother. While the mother bonds with the baby during this period, adjusting to surroundings with the new baby can be challenging affair. The postpartum care, therefore, becomes more important. Here is a brief guideline about the essential precautions of postpartum care and its importance-

  1. Get as much rest as possible: Postpartum care can be demanding for a mother. Sleeping is required to beat the fatigue and tiredness during this period. The baby wakes up from the sleep every alternate hour and the mother needs to feed him. To ensure that the mother is not physically exhausted, it is important that she sleeps whenever the baby does.
  2. Eat healthily: Maintaining a healthy diet during the postpartum care is extremely important. Food such as whole grain, protein, fruits, and vegetables can contribute to incremental healing. If a mother is breastfeeding the baby, consumption of fluid is equally as important as a healthy diet. A good diet helps a mother to gain sufficient energy that she is burning during the initial few weeks of giving birth to the baby.
  3. Avoid strenuous work: Each mother should take at least 2-3 months after delivery to get back to work. If the situation arises where a mother is forced to join back her job or take up professional activities, it should be ensured that she should not take up any strenuous activities. It will not only wear her out but take a heavy toll on the mental health as well.
  4. Exercise: Usually a doctor suggests the right time to exercise and prescribes the right exercise that is necessary to a mother. The exercise should not be too strenuous. A quick walk around the park, brisk jogging for 10 minutes, some easy-to-follow free-hand exercises can be extremely beneficial for a mother during this stage. Exercise can keep fatigue and boredom at bay and helps a mother increase the energy levels throughout the day.
  5. Seek help: Postpartum depression is very common among new mothers. It often shows up during the first few weeks after giving birth. Close to 80 percent of the mother explains abrupt mood swings, irritability, restlessness, insomnia, sadness, unexplained crying etc. It makes sense to visit a doctor or seek professional help if these symptoms do not go away after a couple of weeks of giving birth to the baby. Doctors can suggest ways to get over this phase easily. If not for these symptoms, a doctor should be consulted in any which case for a span of first three months to refrain from unwanted complications.

I was checking tips related to teeth on Lybrate and floss is recommended at a lot of places. Few of these questions popped up in my mind : 1. I am curious why it is not common in India? 2. I watched few videos on youtube to learn the proper way to floss. After watching the videos I felt like it will be loosen the gums as one is putting the pressure on them also. Second I felt like it will start thinning the enamel also from the teeth. I am worried unnecessarily or care should be taken while flossing?

Remember flossing is to be used only for cleaning the between the teeth areas and is used to prevent the deposition of food particles which can lead to infection and has to be used cautiously and even in india though slow the trend is picking up and remember if you have already loose teeth than not to be done and it won't thin the enamel lining.

1. Exfoliate - exfoliation is defined as the removal of dead skin cells on the skin's outermost surface. Consistent exfoliation of your skin will help with wrinkle prevention in addition to giving you smooth glowing skin. 2. Green tea - green tea is by far one of my favorite drinks. It's also one of my favorite methods for cleansing your skin topically as well (a good green tea facial cleanser will have your face glowing like a star). Green tea is by far one of the most powerful antioxidants you can utilize when adding a glow to your skin. Rich in antioxidants, green tea helps rid your skin of free radicals, reduces inflammation and feels great going down. 2 cups of green tea a day along with a good facial cleanser will have compliments raining down upon you.
