What are the home remedies for oily scalp?

    Lemon can be very beneficial in the treatment of oily hair. Lemon contains many vital vitamins and can even promote hair growth. They also control oil secretion. To use them, mix lemon juice in a cup of distilled water. You can also add three teaspoons of honey (optional).

    Now rinse your hair and apply this mixture on your hair and let it rest for about 10 minutes. Rinse well later. Use it thrice a week for best results.

  3. Black Tea:

    Black tea has tannic acid that helps prevent the buildup of excess oil on the scalp. It also tightens the pores. To use them, add two tablespoons of black tea leaves to a cup of water. Boil it and strain it. Let it cool to room temperature and apply this mixture on your scalp and hair. Let it rest for a few minutes and later rinse well using a mild shampoo.

  4. Aloe vera:

    Aloe vera is one of the most effective home remedies for oily hair. You can directly apply aloe vera gel by mixing it with lemon juice and shampoo.

  5. Baking soda:

    Baking soda is alkaline in nature which helps in maintaining the normal pH of the scalp. It also absorbs the excess oil secreted from the scalp. You can either apply dry baking soda directly to your scalp or you can apply it by mixing it with water.

  6. Yoghurt:

    Yoghurt is one of the most effective home remedies for oily scalp. Yoghurt prevents the excess secretion of sebum. You can apply yoghurt by mixing it with lemon juice and baking soda.

  7. Epsom salt:

    Epsom salt contains magnesium which has the property to absorb excess sebum secreted by oil glands. You can apply sebum directly by mixing it with your regular shampoo.

  8. Egg yolk:

    Egg yolk is a rich source of fatty acid and some other essential nutrients that help to retain the sebum in the scalp and prevent its extra secretions. You can apply egg yolk by mixing it with lemon juice.

  9. Cocoa powder:

    Cocoa powder is also an effective home remedy that absorbs excess oil from the scalp. You can directly apply cocoa powder to your scalp and spread it with the help of a comb.
