Dear lybrate user, one of the major nutritional substance required for human body is carbohydrate. We take carbohydrate in the form of rice, wheat, sugar etc. The complex molecules of carbohydrate are broken down into simple glucose molecules during digestion & released in the blood stream to be absorbed by the muscle cells. Muscle cells utilise the glucose molecules to release energy by breaking down those glucose molecules. Insulin hormone plays a vital role in the absorption of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells. In abnormal conditions, either due to less production of insulin or due to resistance to insulin, the process of absorption of glucose by the muscles comes to a stand still. The glucose molecules remains in the bloodstream which results in the increase in the blood sugar level. The failure of utilisation of the glucose molecules by the muscle cells results in production of less energy than normal condition. This is externally manifested as the fatigue & tiredness of the patient. This excess amount of blood sugar compels the kidney to function more than normal level in order to excrete the blood sugar molecules through urine. As a result the patient suffers from frequent urination. This abnormal condition is clinically known as diabetes mellitus. Once a patient is diagnosed with diabetes he has to take regular medicine to keep his blood sugar level within normal limits. Take homoeopathic mother tincture gymnema sylvestra q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. Along with intake of medicines you need to walk at least 1 hour daily without any interval. In order to decrease the intake of carbohydrate in your diet you should avoid rice, sweet dishes, fruits, cold drinks, fast foods, alcoholic beverages, potato etc.

Hello you need to understand the concept of weight loss. It's a gradual process that requires cut down in calories under the guidance of a dietitian and regular exercise. Don't skip breakfast. Sleep for 7-9 hours per night. Avoid fried foods, sweets, carbonated drinks and processed foods. Include whole grains, sprouts, seasonal fruits and vegetables, salad vegetables like cucumber, kakri, onion, tomato etc. Include green tea 4-5 times a day. Drink plenty of water. Take 3 main meals and 2 side meals. Take flaxseed powder 1 tsp with lukewarm water on empty stomach. Snack on roasted makhane or fruits. As yours is deak job you need to do stretching in between and planks and squats too. Thank you.

Avoid nighttime snacks and snacking infront of TV. Divide 1 junk meal to several mini-­‐meal per day. Incorporate healthy protein to your meals Avoid high carb or empty calorie foods like fast food such as grilled, canned, cookies, candys and junk foods Never skip breakfast-­‐skipping breakfast will make you hungry later. Opt for healthy morning meal like high fiber cereal, low fat milk and fruit Include fiber to your diet –oatmeal, fruits and fiber rich vegetables. Sleep: If you are sleep deprived, your body over produces appetite stimulating hormones ghrelin and under produces hormone leptin which tells you when you are full. Drink at least eight 8 ounce glasses of water per day, also include herbal teas. Avoid carbonated drinks such as fizzy drinks. Reduce the levels of stress. Weigh yourself once a week and track your weight and maintain a proper food diary Juice of 1 green apple, 1 beet and 2 medium carrots daily.

Hi improving your diet and lifestyle is the best way to lose weight. Make small target of losing 2-4 kg per month. Eat breakfast as soon as you wake up. Eat three fruits per day. Drink plenty of water. Eat high fiber vegetables and low fat protein sources. Walk for thirty min minimum daily.

Do exercise How to Reduce Breast Size with Home Remedies Green Tea to Reduce Breast Size Green tea is one of the effective ingredients that will help you to reduce the body weight, thus will help to reduce the increased size of your breasts. It contains catechins, which stimulate the body to burn the deposited calories. I must mention here one of the most important usages of green tea. Its regular consumption reduces the risk of breast cancer apart from decreasing the size of the breasts. Things we need : Hot water – 1 cup Green tea leaves: 1 tsp Honey (for taste) – 1 tsp Process: Take 1 cup of hot water and add 1 tsp of green tea powder to it. Cover it and let it steep for few minutes. Strain it and drink it warm. Drink this amazing tea at least twice or thrice a day to reduce the breast size. Flaxseed to Reduce Breast Size Omega-3 fatty acid is the property, which helps to reduce the estrogen level in the body. And flaxseed is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, thus its consumption ultimately help to reduce the size of the breasts. Things we need: Hot water- 1 glass Ground flaxseed – 1 tbsp Process: Take 1 glass of hot water and add 1 tbsp of ground flaxseed to it. Stir it properly and drink it hot. Read on to know more about them. Egg White and Onion to Reduce Breast Size: Whisk the white part of 1 egg and apply it on the breasts. Leave it for 20 to 25 minutes. Then take the juice of 1 onion and mix 1 glass of water in it. Now, wash the egg white with the onion juice mixed water. This remedy will help to reduce the size of the breasts. Follow this massage therapy at least twice a day, morning as well as evening to reduce the breast size naturally and effectively. Note: Do not wear the bra immediately soon after the massage. Wait for some time till the skin absorbs the oil fully. Diet to Reduce Breast Size As weight gain and fat deposition in various parts of the body are few of the main reasons of heavier breasts, you need to take special care regarding your diet to reduce your breast size. Citrus Fruit Juices: The intake of citrus fruit juices help to reduce the size of the boobs effectively. Citrus fruits contain a good amount of Vitamin C in them, which help to burn the deposited fat in the body by increasing the metabolic rate of the body. Exercises to Reduce Breast Size Apart from using home remedies and massage therapy, you can perform certain exercises, which are extremely helpful to reduce the size of the breasts. Have a look at some of the exercises to reduce breast size. Light Weight Lifting to Reduce Breast Size This exercises works by working on the chest muscles. How to Do: Sit straight on a chair. Hold the dumbbells in each hand. Lift them up and then bring them back to the initial position. Perform this exercise as many times as you can to reduce the size of the breasts. Push ups to Reduce Breast Size This exercise works to reduce the breast size by working on the shoulder and chest muscles. How to Do: Lie on your stomach on the floor. Stretch your legs straight by keeping your feet close to each other. Keep your palms firm on the ground and fingers slightly apart. Push you chest upwards and remain in that position for 2 seconds. Return to the initial position. Repeat this process at least 10 to 15 times a day to get your desired breast size. Decline Presses to Reduce Breast Size This exercise helps to reduce the breast size by tightening the chest area. How to do: Lie on your back on a decline bench. Hold the dumbbells in each of your hands. Stretch your hands upwards, and then come back to the initial position slowly. Repeat this exercise 10 to 15 times a day to notice a change in the size of your breasts. Incline Press to Reduce Breast Size This exercise works by toning up the muscles in the chest area. How to do: Lie straight on a bench with your back. Hold the dumbbells in each of your hands above your head. Slowly bring the dumbbells down towards your chest. Repeat this exercise 10 to 15 times a day to reduce the breast size. Other Exercises to Reduce Breast Size Swimming: It is a very good exercise to reduce the breast size as it works well on the chest as well as on the shoulder muscles. It is a good exercise for the whole body, which helps to burn the accumulated fat in the body, thus ultimately helps to reduce the breast size. Apart from that swimming also firms up the breasts. Climbing the Stairs: Climb the stairs every day for 15 to 20 minutes to burn out the excess fat from the various parts of the body including the breast area. Jogging: Jogging is another exercise, which helps to reduce the accumulated body fat by working on the entire body. So jog for 20 to 30 minutes every day in the morning as well as in the evening to reduce the excess adipose fat from the breast area. Tips Do not eat fatty or oily food as you know that fat accumulation is one of the main reasons of heavier breasts. Do not eat junk and processed food as these foods contain unsaturated fat, which may further increase your breast size. Stay away from sweets as the consumption of these makes the person fat, thus the increased breast size. Follow an exercise regime daily to burn the calories and keep yourself fit. Involve in some physical activities so that there will be no fat accumulation in your body. Eat smaller portions of meals. In spite of taking 3 large meals, divide the meals to 6 smaller portions, which will help you keep full throughout the day. This method will curb your hunger pangs and consumption of more food to make you fat. Wear a full coverage bra with right size.

Hello, your friend need not to be worried. She can become mother, there will not be any problem if the thyroid level is under control. So don't get depress and start medication for the thyroid. Take care.

Hi lybrate-user to reduce belly fat you need to be particular about food choices & timings. Eat small & frequent meals. Include high fiber foods in your diet such as whole cereals & whole pulses. Drink plenty of water. Avoid refined foods from your diet such as maida, pasta. Keep check on your food intake.

Placental Insufficiency -  Know the Facts!

The placenta is a link between you and your baby during pregnancy. It helps your baby to grow normally by providing it with food and oxygen. When the placenta is not able to do its work properly, the condition is called placental insufficiency or dysfunction.

Placental insufficiency is a serious complication of pregnancy and can happen when the placenta does not develop properly or is damaged. If this condition develops, the baby doesn’t get the nutrition and oxygen it needs to grow and can develop complications like low birth weight, premature birth, and birth defects. The mother can also develop dangerous complications if it’s left undiagnosed. Thus placental insufficiency must be diagnosed as early into the pregnancy to avoid these complications.

Causes of placental insufficiency
Actually, placental insufficiency is a blood flow disorder which happens due to a reduction in the mother’s blood supply. It can be triggered by vascular disorders, medications, lifestyle and  the following:         

  1. Diabetes
  2. Chronic hypertension
  3. Blood clotting disorders
  4. Serious anemia
  5. Blood thinners
  6. Smoking
  7. Drug abuse 

Other causes of placental insufficiency are cases where the placenta doesn’t attach properly to the uterine wall or if the placenta breaks away from it.

Symptoms
Unfortunately, there are no symptoms of this dangerous condition in the mother except that she may notice that the size of her uterus is smaller than in previous pregnancies.  She may also notice that the fetus is moving less than before. As far as symptoms of placental abruption or disruption go, there may be vaginal bleeding or pre-term labour contractions. In case placental insufficiency is not diagnosed, the mother can experience a serious fatal condition called Preeclampsia, which means high BP and protein in the urine as well as disruption of the placenta and pre-term birth. The picture for the baby is pretty dim too. The earlier placental insufficiency happens, the more grave the risk for the baby. The baby can suffer from:

  1. Cerebral palsy and learning disabilities
  2. Low body temperature 
  3. Low blood sugar 
  4. Premature birth
  5. Cesarean delivery
  6. Stillbirth
  7. Death

Placental insufficiency can’t be cured, but it can be managed. Once diagnosed, it can be managed through proper prenatal care like treating maternal high blood pressure or diabetes, education on preeclampsia and ways to self-monitor for the disease, frequent doctor visits, bed rest to conserve energy for the baby and consultation with a specialist. These can improve the baby’s chances of normal growth. 

Proper prenatal care of pregnant women is thus, very important as it can diagnose placental insufficiency early. A simple ultrasound can diagnose this dangerous condition by measuring the baby's size and growth, and assessing the size and placement of the placenta. Bananas are full of calories and contain high amount of carbohydrates and potassium that give you instant energy. Whosoever want to gain weight must eat a banana daily in the morning with a glass of warm milk. Add a teaspoon of sugar in it. Moreover, you can also have it after your meals.

I am trying to gain a weight what measures should I take kindly pls help for the same.
For healthy weight gain, 1. Have small frequent meals at 2-3 hrs intervals containing foods rich in nutrient & calorie density like paneer paratha, cheese-potato sandwich, dates-almonds milkshake, peanut chikki, til ladoo, banana kheer, atta halwa/gond ladoo, thicker rotis with ghee, rice with ghee, cow/buffalo milk with skim milk powder, homemade cereal malt with milk & sugar, premix with soup, fruit juice, sugarcane juice, dry fruits, soyabean cutlet/roll, fruit lassi, egg curry/omlette/egg scramble/french toast, fatty fish, chicken 2. Drink 2-3 litres water daily (but not with or just before meal) 3. Avoid junk foods & empty calorie snacks 4. Enjoy meals in a peaceful environment without distractions 5. Eat fast & in bigger utensils 6. Take 15 mins light walk before meals to increase appetite. Practice strength exercises like bench press, push up, squat, etc at home daily for 1/2 hr.

Dear. Follow these best tips to get in shape and loose weight.* in woman, body have a tendency to store fat. So body become over weight due to deposition of fatty tissues. First you should follow diet plan for weight loss. * in morning, take 2-3 chapattis with a bowl of cooked green vegetables. You can take a glass of without cream milk after 2 hour of breakfast. *in lunch you can take a bowl of soupor salad. *in evening, you can take a cup of teawith glucose biscuits. *in dinner, you can take a bowl of fruits or 2 chapattis with a bowl of vegetables. * work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, you can try skipping for 15minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running. For arms, stretch arms upwards and rotate them clockwise and then anticlockwise for 5 minutes. Take a bottle of 1 litre water filled bottle. Hold it in hand and raise you hands without moving elbow. Repeat for both arms for 5-10 times. It makes your arms slim and in proper shape. * do not eat fastfoods and soft drinks, as they have high calories.

Hi incorporate more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains into your diet while eliminating unhealthy foods. - if you are working or studying away from home, try to pack healthy lunch and snacks for yourself to avoid eating unhealthy food daily. - don't eat straight from the packet - use a plate or bowl to control how much you eat. - don't delay or skip meals. - cut down your consumption of aerated drinks and sodas. - drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. Drink water after waking up and before sleeping. Being dehydrated may make you feel like you're hungry, so it is important to stay hydrated. - have homemade fruit and vegetable juices - eat 5-6 small healthy meals every 2-3 hours, every day, instead of having a few big ones. This regulates your blood sugar level and your metabolism. - don't skip breakfast, instead, make it rich with complex carbohydrates and proteins, so it can provide you with energy to get through the day. Try to include the following as your morning breakfast, oats porridge, eggs on multigrain toast or daliya with sprouts. - avoid artificial sweeteners in processed foods. - eat slowly as it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register if you're full or not. Eating too fast leads to overeating, so chew slowly to digest your food better and control how much you eat. - use a smaller plate to control your portion sizes and avoid overeating. - know your cravings and do not snack when you're emotional. It is said that you crave crunchy and savory food when you're stressed, frustrated or lonely. Figure out what you crave and replace them with healthier alternatives. - do not eat mindlessly; concentrate on your food instead of watching tv or playing with your phone to avoid overeating.
