According to your height your weight should be 68-70kgs. Start playing games do workout daily it increases blood circulation & also increases your appetite, appetite when increases your weight will also increase naturally. Dnt take any medicines for weight increasing they are not good, try doing natural things only. Thanks take care.

To gain weight you should eat at frequent intervals" never skip any meal of the day" avoid junk food. Don't smoke as smoking suppresses appetite. Take healthy diet with enough of good fat, carbs & protein in diet. Include high calorie food items in between your main meals such as dark chocolates, cakes, nuts, cheese, yoghurt, sweetened beverages such as cold coffee, shakes. Help yourself with more of nuts & dairy products.

Dear Doctor, I am 50 year old male and a diabetic and have been on insulin and medicine for the last 15 years, I have reduced sensation in my left leg. Hye, Thanks for the query. Your happiness should not be dependent on your weight. Weight is a matter of appearance. It is also dependent on genetics. You need to provide the body the right nutrition so that it can attain the best possible weight as per your genes. Gaining weight requires you to eat more calories than you burn. Although fried or sugary foods are calorie dense, eating them exclusively won’t provide enough nutrition to keep you energetic and healthy. Eating several meals and snacks throughout the day and including nutritious, calorie-dense food will help you gain weight healthfully. Weight gain depends primarily on your genetics, age, weight and activity level. To gain weight, you need to eat more calories than you burn. If you’re not used to eating large quantities of food at one time, you may find it difficult to fit all of your calories into three meals per day. Eating nutritious, calorie-dense foods every two to three hours will help you get your calories in without making you overly full and sluggish. If you tend to forget to eat or are always on the go, bring calorie-dense snacks such as eggs, mixed nuts, fruits and dairy. Nutritious, calorie-dense foods provide essential vitamins and minerals, which promote good health and energy. Adding ghee and cream to foods adds additional calories for very little extra physical bulk. Fruit juice, masala milk provides crucial nutrients. Meal-replacement shakes and protein powder sound like good options but also remember that unless your diet is not planned sadly they won't help.

How Your Salad Maybe Causing More Harm Than Good!

Salads are often a meal option when you want to throw in a whole lot of fresh vegetables and nice dressing to go with it, for a comprehensive meal. It's light and fresh and extremely nutritious. That is what most people think.

However, in some cases, your salad may be doing more harm than good to your health:

  1. Eating fresh, raw vegetables may be good once in a while, but eating too much of raw veggies make it difficult for your digestive tract to break down and digest. You may start suffering from gas, indigestion or bloating.
  2. Most people eat salads to lose weight, but this works only according to your body type. There are certain body types for whom too many damp foods like salads, actually causes the body to retain the dampness and thus making it harder to lose weight.
  3. Avoid those so called 'fat free' salad dressings that have become so popular in the market. Such dressings take the fat out of it and try to replace it with something that is artificial and genetically modified. They also have high level of fructose corn syrup that is extremely damaging by adding to your fat and making you resistant to insulin.
  4. Avoid vegetables that have been grown with fertilizers and pesticides and opt for organic produce instead. Genetically modified (GMO) crops have been known to be the cause of several chronic diseases and conditions.
  5. A distinction must be made between healthy and unhealthy fats. Processed oils and refined oils that are added to salads can increase LDL cholesterol and make you prone to coronary heart disease.
  6. Adding too much protein to your salad can be counterproductive and redundant, exposing you to the risk of cancer.

This however, doesn't mean that you should stay away from your favorite salad, but to be aware of what goes into it and how much. Don't always be fooled by its freshness and pockets of flavor.

Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey, and one-half teaspoon of black pepper powder in one cup of water..If you use freshly ground black pepper, then just add one-quarter teaspoon...Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach....Do this daily for at least three months...

First you should follow low calories food for weight loss. * in morning, take 1-2 chapattis with a bowl of cooked green vegetables. You can take a glass of lemon water with it *in lunch you can take a bowl of raw vegetables like carrot, radish, tomatoes, turnip or beetroot. *in evening, you can take a cup of green tea only with some pieces of friuts like apple, pineapple, pear. Avoid taking banana or mango. *in dinner, you can take vegetable soup or a bowl of cooked vegetables. But do not take potato, sweet potatoes. * you can take a cup skimmed milk 4 times a week only during day time. * work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, you can try skipping for 15minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running. Follow these exercises in the morning - * lie down on flat surface, raise your legs without bending your knees, do it for 3-5 times daily * do not eat fastfoods and soft drinks, as they have high calories and the calories deposit in body in the form of weight if not utilised. * you can take medohar guggalu 1 tablet daily for quick weight loss but only under the guidance of ayurveda expert.

Hi, take 2 banana with warm milk in the morning. Eat soaked dry grapes or dates soaked in warm milk overnight. Include protein rich food in your diet. No drink before meals. If you are non vegetarian include eggs chicken and fish in your diet. Take small and frequent meals.

In may 2014 by colonoscopy investigation I was diagnosed having diverticulitis and advised to take pentadom tab s.. It gave partial relief. Since last 15 days I am having severe gastric problem and my family physician has put me on pentadom tabs. But not much relief. Please advise any further treatment. Thanks.

Doctors doesn't go for endoscopy in diverticulitis as it may lead to perforation. I need to have your report. You need to take high fibre diet as it is beneficial in diverticulitis. You may also take homoeopathic treatment along with it.

Hi Low levels of vitamin D can result in causing tiredness, fatigue, bony pain, low fat metabolisation to begin with. Low levels of vit D can also over a [eriod of time increase the risk of diabetes.
