As not good response to anti tb treatment, as still fever even after 3 months treatment, you need to go for sputum exam for afb at least three times, xray review and any other cause of fever. Better in consult pulmonologist/respiratory physi of your area with all reports.

Hi, Most of the times during particular season children are prone to get fever frequently. Unless there is no major issue / any other symptoms during each time nothing to worry. Child's weight is ok now. Better give Vitamin D syrup (D3 MUST) 5 ml once a day & Zinc syrup (MINTONIA) 5 ml once a day for one month to improve the immunity. These are supportive measures. Prevention is best. Maintain good personal hygiene.

First of all confirm is it due to allergy or sinusitis. In most of the cases it is allergic with sinusitis as its complication. It can be solved by using nasal sprays.

I am 34 year female. I suffer from breathing problem when I get tensed or if i am exhausted. Is this related to asthama?

General Physician (AM)
Alternative Medicine Specialist, Chandigarh
An attack may be brought on by contact with substances to which the person is sensitive and emotional or dietary factors should not be overlooked. A sudden change of temperature can bring on an attack. Some alleviation of the symptoms may be obtained with the use of the appropriate tissue salts. Consult privately so as to question you to ascertain your personality and ailment. Permanent cure is available in biochemics. In the mean time try cuprum ars, kali phos.

My Dad's sonography tells that he has moderate left pleural effusion, what does that mean and what should we do now?

MBBS, DNB (General Medicine), Certified in Evidence Based Diabetes Management, MNAMS, MRCP (UK)
Internal Medicine Specialist, Kolkata
Thank you for the query. Plerura or pleural space, is a sac like covering around our lung. It is a potential space and air, fluid and blood can collect in it. Pleural effusion implies that there is collection of fluid in the pleural space. When there is a collection in this space, the normal function of the lung (gaseous exchange) may be hampered. It would have been helpful if you would have mentioned your father's age, and whether he is suffering from any comorbidities, also whether he has any addictions (like smoking). The commonest cause of pleural effusion is infection (usually bacterial). Other causes may be tuberculosis, mitosis or conditions like rheumatoid arthritis. Liver disease, kidney problems and cardiac failure also causes pleural effusion, but they mostly bilateral (both sided). It is advisable that you visit a physician or chest specialist. A chest x-ray will be needed. Some blood tests like complete haemogram will be needed, and analysis of the pleural fluid may be done. Regards.

MD (Physician), MD (Pulmonology)
Pulmonologist, Bareilly
Dear Lybrateuser, you have not mentioned the duration of your present ATT therapy, please understand TB treatment is a step wise therapy and you need to have patience. Pus and other symptoms improvement varies from patient to patient. Please don't change / switch / alter TB medicines or their doses. Kindly complete your course and you can always have a second opinion from a Pulmonologist. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
