How to Balance Your Work and Health During Pregnancy?

How to Balance Your Work and Health During Pregnancy?

At times, being pregnant may make you feel as if it is a full-time job. This causes even more problems when you actually have a full-time job, especially jobs that require you to be seated at a desk or to be pleasant with your clients even when you don’t feel like. But thankfully, there are tips on how you can handle the major issues that you may face at your workplace during your pregnancy.

When to make the announcement?
Though it is quite natural to feel tempted to spill the good news right away, advises that it is good to keep the news to yourself until you have crossed the first trimester. This is because the chance of miscarriage drop dramatically and when you finally decide to announce the news, make sure that your boss gets to know it right from you rather than any of your colleagues.

How to manage the common symptoms while on the job?
Though pregnancy causes a variety of discomforts, it doesn’t give you a ticket for slacking off at work. There are various ways of dealing with the symptoms in order to prevent them from interfering with your work. If you suffer from morning sickness (85% of women suffer from nausea during pregnancy), you can get over it by eating your favourite food. You can take in small doses of healthy snacks for keeping your blood-sugar levels within the required limit and reduce the nausea. When your symptoms are severe, you will have to consult an expert about proper medications.

When to get ready for maternity leave?
Before you decide to bid a temporary farewell to your workplace, you will have to specify the details of your leave. You should let your boss know about an approximate date from when you will be taking leave and when you will be able to rejoin. By giving them a tentative date of your return, you are allowing them to see the light at the end of that tunnel. You can help by making a small list of tasks that you were responsible for and also offer suggestions on how they can be divided and handled by your coworkers.

Though most women are into professions which will not affect the delivery of the child, there are certain kinds of jobs that may put you as well as your baby’s health at risk. It is important to consult your doctor and ask for a detailed advice on this matter.

Hii. I got married in November.. But my hymen not break. But after 4 months my hymen breaks and comes to blood my vagina. It is possible to after 4 months marriage breaks hymen.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
If there was no penetration after the marriage then hymen will not broke, which is unlikely scenario. If the intercouse took place after marriage, it broke with first intercourse only. Now if you r having bleeding and it has filled the vagina, it could menses which came before time or if it started immediately after having sex then it could be related to tear in the vagina, which only after consulting a gynecologist, you would come to know.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
You have 9 months pregnancy right, so you will first deliver this baby, and then think of a suitable method for contraception, in my opinion you should get am IUCD inserted so as to have a non harmonal device with no side effects, but only after you have settled down with post delivery bleeding etc.

Dear Lybrate user. The transparent clear liquid which comes out of your penis while having foreplay, speaking to a girl, watching porn etc is called pre-cum. This is a natural procedure and you don't have to stop it. Pre-cum is used as a lubricant on the penis glans, when the penis enters the vagina. Please understand. This is never a health problem. Don't worry. Take care.

What Is Impotence in Women

Diploma in Naturopathy, M.D. Alternative Medicine
Sexologist, Delhi
What Is Impotence in Women

It's not that you feel the same responsiveness while having a sexual relationship with your partner like you used to have earlier; impotency in women can occur at any stage due to various reasons. Sometimes such problems may strain your relationship with your partner.

If you know what impotency in women is, it will be helpful for you to get it treated:

  1. Inhibited desire disorder: Most women who are impotent in sex have almost no desire to have sex. Different causes that lead to such a situation are illness, tiredness, depression, anxiety, stress, relationship disharmony, and drug or alcohol abuse. Apart from these reasons, there are certain days in the monthly cycle of women when they lose the sexual desire. Medication and child birth can also be another cause for this. It may not seem serious in the beginning but gradually with time, things will change and frustration and unhappiness creep in a lovely relationship.
  2. Pain during intercourse: Dyspareunia or pain during intercourse also sometimes leads to impotency among women. It can be a superficial or deep pain. The main cause of the pain is that the womb is not able to lift up, and the discomfort for this does not allow the walls of the vagina to swell and allow the penis to enter the vagina. Mainly lack of lubrication and endometriosis is an important cause for such a pain. You will have superficial pain when there are issues like genital herpes, muscle spasms and other such problems. With experience of such pain, many women fear the feelings of intercourse, and they start lacking the sexual desire in total.
  3. Lack of ability to reach orgasm: It is a common belief that women have an orgasm with the penile penetration. The truth is that it's not. Only 25% of women are found to get orgasm in this way and others need clitoral stimulation for having orgasm. Thus, most women while having sex do not reach the climax! Women who love their partner without getting orgasm during sexual intercourse may feel different. And gradually they lose their desire for having sexual relations. There are a few factors like poor blood flow to the vagina, hormone imbalance that create this problem.

If you are facing any of the above problems, you may be suffering from impotency. However, do not get threatened as you are not alone, and getting to your doctor will help you out of such problems.

Itching is because of discharge. Drink lots of fluids and wash your private part with fitkari water every time you go to washroom.

My mother aged 45 had a problem of heavy period bleeding after which she consulted a gynae and she gave her primolut n medicine which controlled the condition. Few days back consulted another gynaecologist. She wrote some tests such as pelvic ultrasound, pap smear, endometrial biopsy .the results of the tests came clear. Only ultrasound shown bulky uterus with small fibroids and level of prolactin serum high .after which she suggested some vitamin medicines and said to continue primolut n only from 5th day of month. She stopped taking primolut. And after 2-3 days again the problem of abdomen pain and bleeding is happening. Please help and suggest some solution immediately.

Hello- These kinds of symptoms are faced by most women in their late fourties due to menopausal changes in the body physiology. Improper dietary intake and faulty schedule done up till 40 years result in complicated menopausal condition after 40. Bulky uterus and uterine fibroid suggest that the normal physiology of the uterus is affected up to a greater extent. More over hormonal imbalance in the later stage has worsen the condition of your mother. If not treated it will cause blood deficiency and the doctor will force you towards hysterectomy (removal of uterus) which will be the most wrong step taken by you up till now.Still I can assure you that menopausal menstrual complications can be cured effectively with ayurveda. Consult if interested.

One IUI does not make any sense. In one IUI chance of success is max 20-25%. So, at least after 3 IUI, we can come to firm conclusion whether to continue another 3 or jump to IVF
