Hello, any bleeding in pregnancy is an alarm. This may be a threatened miscarriage, please get an urgent transvaginal ultrasound done to rule out and placental separation or retroplacental clot. Please repeat a urine pregnancy test if you do not get your periods in another two weeks. If still negative then take progesterone tablets to induce a bleed.

I had my 2nd cesarean on 31st august 2016. Shall I start wearing abdominal belt for tummy. Please suggest me.

Abdominal belt does not help in long term and occassionally cause temporary harm. Best is start abdominal excercises later and now do other excercises.

My gf is 19 years old she is 2 weeks pregnant we can't consult to anyone we don't want pregnancy can anyone please help us.

For her safety you have to go to a good gynecologist who will first confirm by ultrasound and could prescribe the medicines needed for termination. Other methods are quackery and prone to incomplete expulsion, infection, excessive bleeding and grave risks in future fertility.

Decreased Libido and Vaginal Lubrication. What can you Do?

Decreased Libido and Vaginal Lubrication. What can you Do?

Are you experiencing reduced libido along with intense dryness in your genitals? Loss of libido is a tough thing to cope with in women. In spite of having a great sex life, your vaginal area can become nonresponsive because of several reasons. You might not even know what is happening and the reasons which are causing the condition. These conditions are common in the menopause stage in women.

Reasons for decreased libido and vaginal dryness:

1. Several changes occur in a woman’s body during the menopause stage. The sex hormones, which include estrogen and progesterone start decreasing. This may lower your libido, cause vaginal dryness and affect your sex life to a great extent.

2. Testosterone is the sex hormone which turns you on or gets you into the mood for having sex. When the production of this hormone is insufficient, the urge for having sex gets affected and reaching an orgasm gets even harder.

3. The decrease in estrogen production causes several physical changes in a woman. The blood circulation to your sexual organs gets reduced, making you less sensitive to any kind of sexual stimulation. It also leads to vaginal dryness. The walls of the vagina also become thin due to which penetration may get painful.

Remedies for decreased libido

1. You should start practicing breathing exercises and do meditation for at least thirty minutes every day. This will enable you to eliminate stress, which is a primary trigger for decreased libido.

2. For balancing the estrogen levels, you should consume phytoestrogenic tea and supplements. Some important herbs which you should take include black cohosh, red clover and dong quai.

3. You should also consume aphrodisiac food items. Garlic is such a food item, which contains allicin and increases the blood flow to the vagina. Dark chocolate can also be taken.

Remedies for vaginal dryness

Several conventional vaginal lubricants may lead to irritation, infection and dryness of the vagina.

1. You should always use a natural lubricant, which is not associated with side effects and works effectively. Natural lubricants such as tea tree oil, coconut oil and vitamin E based oils provide effective vaginal lubrication. They also moisturize and repair the vagina.

2. You must keep fit and active. Regular cardio or yoga sessions will help with enhanced blood flow to your sexual organs, making you feel wet.

3. You should drink plenty of water and always stay hydrated in order to prevent dryness in the vagina.

Most importantly, it is a good idea to continue having sex. If you shy away and do not make any effort, the problem of decrease in libido will continue. Therefore, sex is the best way of encouraging your body. Proper communication with your partner is also necessary. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

Please Consult a gynecologist we do not give medication names here carelessly. The patient has to consult us we have to know several details before we decide on a medicine chart. First get a home pregnancy test done with the first sample of the morning urine after she wakes up if it shows negative give it a week and repeat the test again if it still is negative then she won't be pregnant if it shows positive you need to go to a gynecologist in person. Also always use protection otherwise it will be very hard to prevent unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Take care.

I had unsafe sex n next day I had an ipill. Next month my periods were 5 days early. I feel cramps and today I saw blood comings from my vagina while doing toilet. I am also facing mood swing. I am also facing vaginal discharge I am very tensed What should I do? Am I pregnant?

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Sexologist, Haldwani
Hello- No, you are not pregnant as you faced periods after sex. These are the adverse symptoms of I pill. Pill disturbs the normal hormonal cycles in the body and causes mood swings, hot flush etc. Abnormal uterine contraction causes vaginal discharge even after a month. Do not use the pill next time, prefer condom. Start Fal Ghrita at breakfast, your problem will be solved.

Dear user. ABORTIONS can be performed as early as an intra-uterine pregnancy can be identified by ultrasound, which is usually about 3-4 weeks after your Last Menstrual Period (LMP). In the first trimester, two options are available: Aspiration is done by a physician in the clinic or the Abortion Pill which you take at home. Do not take any decisions before consulting your gynecologist. Take care.

My friend is in live in relation ship with his girlfriend. He wants to do sex with her and she too. He is of 31/08/1994 and her d. O. B. Is 12/08/1995. He is worried if condom failed during sex or any kind of pregnancy issue occurred. Which type of condom is more reliable? She doesn't want to take any i-pills. What should be the correct time of their 1st sex. What may be pros and cons?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
If condom fails i-pill is the only choice or she can take oc pills like novelon for 21 days in a month. Durex or Kohinoor are among the best condoms available in the market. If a women’s menstrual cycle varies from 26days to 31days cycle, The shortest cycle (26days) minus18days=8th day. The longest cycle (31days) minus 10days=21st day Thus, 8th to 21st day of each cycle counting from first day of menstrual period is considered as fertile period. That is UNSAFE PERIOD during which you should not have it. Period other than this fertile period in a menstrual cycle is considered as SAFE PERIOD.
